Essie "Check Your Baggage"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  I couldn't resist a happy color for the weekend!  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Check Your Baggage."  Here's how this beauty looks in the bottle:

"Check Your Baggage" is a very happy sunshine yellow creme.  The formula of this nail polish is great and it applied very easily to my nails.  After three coats "Check Your Baggage" was completely opaque and had zero streak marks.  Look at this pretty yellow up close:

Overall I am in love with Essie's "Check Your Baggage."  This Summertime yellow is so bright and happy and I have been enjoying wearing it through the cold Winter to brighten my day!  "Check Your Baggage" is going to be one of my go to polishes this Summer!

Essie "Kaf-tan"

Hey everyone and happy happy Thursday!  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Kaf-tan," which is a really nice chill color.  Here's how this Autumnal polish looks in the bottle:

"Kaf-tan" is a really pretty mustard yellow creme.  The formula of this nail polish is perfect - it applied so nicely to my nail and was opaque after only a single coat!  I love when a polish only takes one coat because it makes life easier.  Look at this lovely Autumn color up close:

Overall I am in love with Essie's "Kaf-tan."  Everything from the color to it being opaque in one coats makes this nail polish a winner in my eyes!  I can't wait until this Autumn as this will definitely be one of my go to polishes!

Essie "Ballet Sneakers"

Hey everyone and happy Fri-YAY!  Today's nail polish is Essie "Ballet Sneakers."  This is a fun collection by Essie where they took some of their old polishes and re-vamped them!  This is a recreation of their classic - "Ballet Slippers."  Here's how "Ballet Sneakers" looks in the bottle:

"Ballet Sneakers" is a pretty pastel pink creme.  The formula of this polish is perfect and it applied well to my nails.  My only issue with application is Essie's new brush heads which are very wide.  I have narrow nails so it just took a little patience and practice to master.  After two coats, "Ballet Sneakers" was completely opaque with only one or two minor streaks on the edges of my nails.  Here's how this pretty pink looks up close:

Overall I am really pleased with Essie's "Ballet Sneakers."  Everything about this nail polish is really great with my only pet-peeve being the wide brush.  That being said I plan to keep "Ballet Sneakers" in my collection because it is such a gorgeous pastel and perfect for Spring/Summer!

Dupes: Essie "Ballet Slippers" vs. Essie "Ballet Sneakers"

Hi guys and happy Monday!  Today's post is a comparison of Essie's "Ballet Slippers" and "Ballet Sneakers."  Essie recently launched a collection where they re-did several of their most popular polishes with a twist.  In this case "Ballet Slippers" is the original and "Ballet Sneakers" is the redo.  I was curious how alike/different these polishes are.  Here's how they look in the bottle:

"Ballet Slippers" and "Ballet Sneakers" are both pastel pink cremes.  The formula of both nail polishes are very similar - both are good and applied easily to my nails.  "Ballet Slippers" is far less pink, almost a neutral cream color while "Ballet Sneakers" is a traditional baby pink.  Both required four coats to be even and smooth on the nail.  Here's how they compare up close:

Overall it is a toss up between Essie's "Ballet Slippers" and "Ballet Sneakers."  The original ("Ballet Slippers") is perfect for French tips but the newer version ("Ballet Sneakers") is such a pretty stand alone color.  I'll be keeping both in my collection!

Essie "Surprise & Delight"

Hello all and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Surprise & Delight" from their Valentine's Day collection this year.  (Who else thinks Valentine's Day was 100 years ago?!)  Here's how this happy polish looks in the bottle:

"Surprise & Delight" is a gorgeous bright red shimmer that is absolutely beautiful on my nails!  The formula of this polish amazing and applied wonderfully to my nails.  After a single coat "Surprise & Delight" was completely opaque without any streak marks.  Though I did apply a second coat just because I could.  Here's how this shimmer looks up close:

Overall I am in love with Essie's "Surprise & Delight."  This red polish is perfect for year-round use and makes me happy every time I see it on my nails!  I will we wearing this polish a lot more often and plants pull it out next Valentine's Day!!

Dupes: OPI "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes" and Essie "All Daisy Long"

Hi guys and happy Thursday!  Today's post is a comparison of OPI's "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes" and Essie's "All Daisy Long."  Here's how these nail polishes stack up next to each other:

Essie "All Daisy Long" and OPI "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes"

Both polishes are white shimmers, though OPI's "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes" has some additional iridescent micro glitter on top of the shimmer.  Essie's "All Daisy Long" has a warmer red/yellow shimmer while OPI's "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes" has a cooler blue tone.  Formula wise both are good and apply well to my nails.  Both polishes required three coats of polish.  Here's how they look up close on my nails:

If you want to know more about OPI "Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes" or Essie "All Daisy Long" be sure to check out my previous posts!

Overall both Essie's "Ally Daisy Long" and OPI's "Dancing Keep Me On My Toes" are great polishes, however they are not exact dupes.  They are very similar but the additional glitter in the OPI polish just makes it sparkle.  That being said I will keep both in my collection as they make great Summertime polishes!

Sinful Colors "Queen Of Beauty"

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!  The sun is shining and I couldn't resist playing with some glitter nail polish.  SO without further ado, today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Queen Of Beauty." Here's how this glittery happiness looks in the bottle:

"Queen Of Beauty" is a silver micro glitter in a clear base.  The formula of this nail polish is great and the glitter applies evenly without much effort.  As with many glitters it is not opaque and can be layered on other polishes.

The first polish I decided to try with Sinful Colors "Queen of Beauty" is Essie's "Out Of The Jukebox."  This combination was bright and happy:

The second polish I tried with "Queen Of Beauty" with was OPI "Rub-A-Pub-Pub".  This combination looks like a glitter night sky:

The third and final nail polish I tried with "Queen Of Beauty" was Ciaté "Starlet."  This look was fun and over the top shimmer.

Here's how the silver glitter in "Queen Of Beauty" looks up close:

If you want to know more about Essie's "Out Of The Jukebox", OPI "Rub-A-Pub-Pub" or Ciate's "Starlet" check out some of my previous posts.

Overall I am really pleased with Sinful Colors "Queen Of Beauty."  Everything about this chunky glitter is great and I cannot wait to use it in more nail art soon!

Essie "Out Of The Jukebox"

Hi guys and happy Sunday!  It's been a while since I last posted - between business at work and being sick I ran out of time!  But I'm back now, and hopefully with no more delay.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Essie's "Out Of The Jukebox."  Here's how this pretty looks in the bottle:

"Out Of The Jukebox" is a gorgeous coral with a golden shimmer.  It is perfect for Springtime and Summer!  The formula of this nail polish was slightly watery but as long as the brush was not overly full of polish it applied evenly to my nails.  After three coats "Out Of The Jukebox" was opaque and streak free.  I adore this color and it shines!  Here's how this nail polish looks up close:

Hi all and happy New Year's Eve!  To finish out 2019 and ring in the new year (and decade!) I decided to share my favorite nail polishes from this year.  Here they are in color order:

Overall it has been a fun year for nail polish.  I tried out a lot more indie brands and enjoyed every minute of it!  In 2020 I plan to try even more indie brands and can't wait to see where the nail polish adventure will take me next!

Happy 2020!
