Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Unbreakable Heart"

Hello all and happy Thursday!  Anyone else ready for the long holiday weekend?  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Unbreakable Heart."  Here's how this polish looks in the bottle:

"Unbreakable Heart" is a gorgeous burgundy nail polish with a golden shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish is watery and despite wiping the excess polish off the brush I still struggled some to apply.  After two coats, "Unbreakable Heart" was fully opaque and had no visible streak marks.  Look at this pretty shimmer up close:

Overall Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Unbreakable Heart" is a pretty good nail polish.  My only real complaint was the formula everything else is perfect.  I plan to give this burgundy beauty another go before I make a final decision on whether to love this nail polish of not.

Sinful Colors "About Last Night"

Hi all and happy Wednesday!  (Halfway to the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "About Last Night."  Here's how this pretty glitter looks in the bottle:

"About Last Night" is a super pretty golden glitter in a clear base.  The formula of this polish is great and it applied in nice even coats to my nails.  After three coats "About Last Night" fully covered my nails and was streak free, which is amazing for a glitter polish!  But since this nail polish is can also be worn as a top coat I decided to test it out over some opaque polishes!

First I decided to try "About Last Night" over Sally Hansen Insta Dri's "Pina Colada.  I thought this combination would turn out better than it did - but it still has some serious Beauty and the Beast vibes:

Next I tried "About Last Night" over OPI's "Big Hair...Big Nails."  This combination was gorgeous and the red made the gold glitter pop!  I can't wait to wear this look again:

Also here's how Sinful Colors "About Last Night" looks up close in the bottle.  The gold glitter really shines and is a great shimmery nail polish on a budget.  Look how stunning it is:

If you want to know more about Sally Hansen Insta Dri's Pina Colada" or OPI's "Big Hair... Big Nails" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I am in love with Sinful Colors "About Last Night."  This nail polish is perfect and I love that I can wear it as a stand alone polish or as a top coat!  You'll definitely be seeing this nail polish in future nail art!

Sally Hansen Mega Shine "Small But Mighty"

Hello everyone and welcome to 2021.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Mega Shine's "Small But Mighty."  I knew I needed this polish because the name is a perfect fit for me!  Here's how "Small But Mighty" looks in the bottle:

"Small But Mighty" is a pretty fuchsia with gold shimmer.  The formula of this polish is good but it is a lot more sheer than I expected it to be.  I applied three coats before it looked opaque on my nails - and honestly I could have applied a fourth coat if I wanted to.  But in the end three coats looked nice on my nails and would be the perfect color to transition from Summer to Autumn.  Here's how "Small But Mighty" looks up close:

Overall I like Sally Hansen Mega Shine's "Small But Mighty."  The color is very pretty, it applied nicely to my nails and the color is gorgeous!  That being said I do wish it was a bit more opaque - but is applies so well in thin coats that it's fine to put on 3/4 coats.  I plan to wear this polish again soon!

Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Pina Colada"

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Insta Dri's "Pina Colada" which was part of a collaboration with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.  Here's how this nail polish looks in the bottle:

"Pina Colada" is a bright yellow creme.  The formula of this polish was quite thick and goopy.  The polish did not apply well to my nail - the bottle has a very wide brush and I have narrow nails so the polish glopped on instead of going on in nice even layers.  After two coats "Pina Colada" was mostly opaque but with several visible streak marks.  Typically I would have applied a third coat to try and even out the streaks but the thick layers prevented that.  Here's how "Pina Colada" looked up close:

Overall I am disappointed with Sally Hansen Insta Dri's "Pina Colada."  The color is so pretty but everything else about this polish was a struggle for me.  I am always on the look out for yellow polishes but this particular yellow won't be staying in my collection.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Tutti Fruitti"

Hello all ad happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Insta Dri's "Tutti Frutti" which was a fun collaboration with Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.  Look at this insane glitter in the bottle:

"Tutti Frutti" is a really fun light pink jelly with rainbow chunky glitter throughout - it looks amazing!  The formula of this polish is slightly watery which meant it took several think coats to build up the look - but it also meant the glitter had a fun layered look.  After three coats "Tutti Fruity" was entirely opaque and streak free.  Here's how the glitter looks up close:

Overall I really like Sally Hansen Insta Dri's "Tutti Frutti."  This chunky glitter is fun and perfect for Spring and Summer!  I can't wait to wear this polish again soon!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Ocean Blue"

Hi all and happy Friday!  While I can't be at the beach I decided to pretend with my nails!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Ocean Blue."  I've had this polish in my collection for ages and I haven't worn it in ages.  Here's how this pretty looks in the bottle:

"Ocean Blue" is a shimmery turquoise polish.  The formula of "Ocean Blue" was slightly watery, but it applied well in nice thin coats.  It took three coats for the polish to be fully opaque - however even with a top coat I couldn't get "Ocean Blue" to dry!  Here's how it looks up close on my nails:

Overall I am sad about Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Ocean Blue."  I used to love this polish and wear it a lot but over the years I've added other polishes that have taken precedent.  I probably won't be keeping this polish since it no longer dries on my nails.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Violet Velvet"

Hey all and Happy Easter!  It's weird Easter this year with no family gatherings and on top of that the weather here is freezing cold.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Violet Velvet."  Here's how this pretty looks in the bottle:

Violet Velvet" is a gorgeous blurple (blue-purple) that dries with a matte finish!  The formula of this polish was a bit watery but the wide brush made it easier to apply.  After three thin coats, "Violet Velvet" was opaque and streak-free.  Here's how this nail polish looks up close (with no top coat):

Overall Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Violet Velvet" is a gorgeous polish and I love a unique matte.  Everything about this nail polish is great and I think it'll be fun to use with some nail art!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Royal Rage"

Hello guys and happy Wednesday!  How is the week only halfway over?  (Who else is ready for the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Royal Rage."  Here's how this nail polish looks in the bottle:

"Royal Rage" is a bright neon blue crelly.  I actually thought this was a creme until I started applying it to my nails!  The formula of this nail polish was a bit thick and took some time to apply to my nails.  I also ended up with a bottle that has a wonky brush so that didn't help either.  After two coats, "Royal Rage" was no where near opaque, unsurprising for a crelly.  In the end I applied four coats, which showed off the pretty color, but still wasn't entirely opaque.  But look at this lovely up close:

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Royal Rage."  The color is really neat and pretty but I can't say I think I'll wear this nail polish a lot.  It'll probably look fun in some nail art though.

Favorite Nail Polishes of 2019

Hi all and happy New Year's Eve!  To finish out 2019 and ring in the new year (and decade!) I decided to share my favorite nail polishes from this year.  Here they are in color order:

Overall it has been a fun year for nail polish.  I tried out a lot more indie brands and enjoyed every minute of it!  In 2020 I plan to try even more indie brands and can't wait to see where the nail polish adventure will take me next!

Happy 2020!
