Happy Almost New Year!  (Only one day left to go until 2015!)  I decided this year to do a "My Favorite Polishes" post.  I picked out ten of my favorite nail polishes from 2014 and ranked them!

What I have discovered is that 2014 was the year I loved orange nail polish!  (Which s kind of a bit funny since orange really isn't my color!)  Thanks for reading my blog all year and I promise that 2015 will be full of even more nail polish!

Nicole by OPI "Cinna-man Of My Dreams"

Hi guy!  I hope everyone is recovering from Christmas a couple of days ago!  Now that Christmas is over I wanted to rock a non-holiday nail polish but I wasn't quite ready to give up all the glitter just yet!  So I picked out Nicole by OPI's "Cinna-man Of My Dreams" which is a copper colored glitter polish!

"Cinna-man Of My Dreams" as I mentioned is a copper colored glitter and it is gorgeous!  Formula wise this nail polish was very easy to apply and was completely opaque after two coats!  As for chipping "Cinna-man Of My Dreams" lasted about three days before there were noticeable tip chips.

Overall Nicole by OPI's "Cinna-man Of My Dreams" is a great nail polish!  It has a nice color, a great formula that was easy to apply and it lasted three days before chipping!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish over and over again!

Christmas 2014 Nail Art!

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas!  (Well almost!)  Today I decided to do a fun and simple Christmas themed nail art!  I settled on the Christmas Tree as the theme because I love decorating the tree every year!  Here are the bottles of polish I used to do this nail art:

Ciaté's "Apple Custard", Sally Hansen Hard As Nail's "Black Heart", Sinful Color's "Ruby Refined", Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in "Mellow Yellow", and Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer's "Work of Tart."

I decided to start with green nails since Christmas trees are green,  The green I decided to use is Ciaté's "Apple Custard" because it is a dusty green.

For two of my nails I decided to leave them green but give them a little texture so I used a dotting tool to spread Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer in "Work of Tart" on the pointer and pinky fingers.  It is uneven and I think adds some fun little depth to my nails.

As with all Christmas trees you hang glass balls, so I used Sinful Color's "Ruby Refined" and a dotting tool to put an ornament on my thumb and ring finger.  Then I used a small dotting tool to add black hooks on the glass ball ornaments, this is where I used Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in "Black Heart."

The last thing I did was add a yellow star to my middle finger, because the top of my Chirstmas tree always has a star on it!  I used the small dotting tool to draw a star and fill it in using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Mellow Yellow."

After all the nails were completed I topped them off with Orly's "Sec'N'Dry" which is a quick drying topcoat.  That was your nail art doesn't smudge!

I purchased the dotting tools on Amazon and there were very affordable.  I mainly used the green one for this nail art because it has a large tip for the bigger designs and a very small tip for the more detailed parts of the nail art.

Maybelline "Ruby Refined"

Hi everyone!  I'm sorry this post is a day late but I'm still prepping for Christmas and yesterday got away from me!  But I couldn't resist pulling out a glittery red nail polish to keep up the festive mood of the holidays!  So today's nail polish is Maybelline's "Ruby Refined."

"Ruby Refined" as I said above is a super glittery red nail polish with some gold glitter tossed in for fun!  The formula of "Ruby Refined" is good and it was fairly easy to apply, which is great for a glitter heavy nail polish!  After two coats of polish "Ruby Refined" was completely opaque and has no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping "Ruby Refined" lasted for about two days before the polish on the tips of my nails started to chip off.

Overall I am happy with Maybelline's "Ruby Refined" because the color is very pretty, the formula is nice and it was easy to apply.  The only thing I wasn't so happy with was how quickly the nail polish chipped.  I love the color of the nail polish so much that I will definitely be wearing "Ruby Refined" again and again!

China Glaze "Glitter All The Way"

Hi everyone and Happy almost Christmas!  Today I decided to try out a Christmasy nail polish!  I picked out China Glaze's "Glitter All The Way" which I bought in a Christmas mini set called Holiday Charms.  The set looks like this:

"Glitter All The Way" is a multi-colored glitter that features red, green, purple, and gold glitter in a clear base.  It is very pretty and works nicely for Christmas, however I think it would also work well for Mardi Gras!  The formula of "Glitter All The Way" is amazing and was so easy to apply in nice even coats!  And after two coats my nails were nicely covered and could almost be worn without a colored basecoat!  After trying out "Glitter All The Way" on blank nails I decided to test it out on a couple of base colors.

The first color I decided to test "Glitter All The Way" on is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in "Golden-I" which is a gold shimmer polish.  "Golden-I" has a nice formula and is perfect for Christmastime!  Since "Glitter All The Way" applies so nice for complete coverage I had to wipe the brush almost completely empty before applying it over a colored polish.  (I did this so that the glitter didn't hide the crème colored polish.)  I like the combo of "Glitter All The Way" and "Golden-I" because it is fun and happy without being too overwhelming.  I will definitely wear this combination again!  And this one is also perfect for Mardi Gras!!

The second color I decided to try out with "Glitter All The Way" is China Glaze's "Red Satin" which is actually part of the same Holiday Charms mini-set that "Glitter All The Way" is part of.  "Red Satin" is unsurprisingly a bright red crème polish that screams Christmas!  "Red Satin" has a nice formula and was easy to apply.  This combination definitely screams Christmas but I doubt I would wear it any other time of the year.

Overall I was really surprised with how awesome China Glaze's "Glitter All the Way" was and how easy it was to apply because glitter polish are notorious for being difficult to apply!  While I love this nail polish and it is very pretty it is definitely only right for Christmas and Mardi Gras so I won't be wearing it during other times of the year.

Zoya "Megan"

Hi guys!  Now that Winter is in full swing and Christmas will be here in a little over a week I can't help but dream of a white Christmas (which I have yet to see!) and I couldn't help but pull out a pastel grey polish.  Today's nail polish is Zoya's "Megan"

"Megan" is a very light grey nail polish with a faint hint of lavender purple in it.  (And yes I know snow is white but here in the South it becomes a grey color really quick because it melts and then re-freezes!)  The formula of "Megan" was interesting to say the least.  I thought "Megan" was very watery while applying the first coat of polish but then on the second coat the nail polish seemed thick and stuck to the brush.  It certainly made applying "Megan" pretty difficult, however after two coats of polish "Megan" was completely opaque and only had a few minor streak marks.  As for chipping the somewhat thick second layer of nail polish lead to a ton of chips and by the end of day two my nails looked so bad that I was forced to remove "Megan."

Overall Zoya's "Megan" is not my favorite nail polish because of the formula and how quickly it chipped.  But I very much love the pastel grey/lavender color of "Megan."  I am willing to give this nail polish another go and maybe it'll be easier to apple the second time around!

OPI "Short-Stop!"

Hello everyone!  In true Christmas spirit I decided to go with bright red nail polish today!  So I pulled out OPI's "Short-Stop!" which was released earlier this year as part of OPI's Major League Baseball Collection.  (I love baseball so I scooped up several polishes in the collection!)

"Short-Stop!" is a gorgeous true red, creme nail polish that looks amazing on my nails!  The formula is fantastic and it was super easy to apply!  Also I am very happy to report that "Short-Stop!" can be worn as a one coater, although I applied two coats just to be sure.  After two coats coats of polish "Short-Stop!" was completely opaque and had absolutely no streak marks!  As for chipping "Short-Stop!" lasted four days before the tip chips became obvious.

Overall I am very impressed by OPI's "Short-Stop!"  It has a gorgeous color, great formula that was very easy to apply, and it lasted four days before starting to chip noticeably!

Essie "Mint Candy Apple"

Hi guys!  Christmas is continuing to creep every closer and I picked out another fun nail polish that reminds me of the season!  That polish is Essie's "Mint Candy Apple" which is a very well known Essie nail polish!

"Mint Candy Apple" is a very pretty mint green colored polish.  The formula of "Mint Candy Apple" was a bit watery which made it a bit annoying to apply.  After two coats of polish my nails were not completely opaque however there were no visible streak marks, which is kind of nice for a pastel.  As for chipping "Mint Candy Apple" lasted about two days before the tip chips got so bad I had to take the nail polish off.

Overall I like Essie's "Mint Candy Apple" because the color is nice and overall the polish looked decent on my nails.  I wish the formula was a little less watery so it would be easier to apply but I think with a bit of patience and practice the watery formula wouldn't be as much of an issue.

Orly FX "Star Trooper"

Hi everyone!  Happy end of the week!  (Hooray for Friday!)  As Christmas creeps every closer everything starts to get more shimmery and glittery!  So today I decided to pick out a super glitter nail polish by Orly called "Star Trooper."

"Star Trooper" has a black jelly base and loads of gold, silver, and white hexagonal glitter mixed in it, and it just shimmers in the light!  Formula wise most glitters are notorious for being difficult but this definitely wasn't the case with "Star Trooper" which applied super easily!  After two coats of polish "Star Trooper" wasn't completely opaque but it was barely noticeable because of all the glitter.  As for chipping I'm not completely sure because the glitter does tend to hang off the edge of the nails and it snags on everything.  And the snagging leads to chipping and frustration very quickly, however I think with a little practice and patience I could have gotten glitter free nail edges.

Overall I quite like Orly's "Star Trooper."  It has a wonderful formula that was easy to apply and gorgeous color and as I mentioned above all the snagging that the glitter caused could be fixed if I was more patient while painting.  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again soon!

Sally Hansen Magnetic "Gold Conduct"

Hi everyone and Happy December!  I can hardly believe that 2014 is nearly over!  To start out December with a Christmas-y feel I decided to pull out a golden polish!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen's Magnetic "Gold Conduct."

"Gold Conduct" is a magnetic polish which means that after you apply it on your nails you hold the special magnet above your nail and it creates fun wavy patterns!  Formula wise "Gold Conduct" is fantastic!  It applies very easily and was actually opaque after only one coat of nail polish!  As for chipping I can't say because I only wore this nail polish for one day as a special occasion.  (And that occasion was Thanksgiving last week!)

Overall I really like Sally Hansen's Magnetic "Gold Conduct."  It is a nice Autumn/Winter color and it was very easy to apply.  I also love how the waves look on my nails and how very simple it is to create this look.  I will definitely wear "Gold Conduct" over and over again!

L'oreal "Rough Around The Edges"

Hi guys!  I can't believe November is nearly over!  I hope everyone survived Black Friday!  And in honor of (well infamous honor) I decided to rock some black nail polish!  Today's polish is L'oreal's "Rough Around The Edges."

"Rough Around The Edges" is a seriously black polish with a bunch of gold glitter in it!  It is super pretty on my nails and sparkles in the light!  Formula wise it is a bit thick, which is common for glittery polishes.  The thickness made it a bit difficult to apply.  After two coats of polish "Rough Around The Edges" had no visible streak marks but was not completely opaque, which was a bit annoying.  As for chipping "Rough Around The Edges" lasted for about two days before it started to snag on everything and chip off.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this polish because there are some things I like and somethings I wasn't so fond of.  "Rough Around The Edges" is a gorgeous color and it lasted a decent amount of time for a glitter polish.  However it was a bit of a struggle to apply "Rough Around The Edges" and it wasn't opaque after two coats of polish.  I will most likely wear this nail polish again though because I adore the color!

Comparison: OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" and Orly's "Pink Chocolate"

Hi everyone!  It has been a while since I did a dupe/comparison post and decided to squeeze one more in this year!  (I can't believe it is Thanksgiving already!)  I decided to test out OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" and Orly's "Pink Chocolate."  Both polishes are a dusty pinkish brown polishes, with OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" having a slight silver shimmer.  As you can see they look almost identical in the bottles so I was curious to find out if they looked identical on the nails.

To start off I applied a clear base coat and then one coat of both OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" and Orly's "Pink Chocolate."  After one coat I noticed that OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" was almost completely opaque and had a slightly deeper color in comparison to Orly's "Pink Chocolate." 

After two coats of OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" and Orly's "Pink Chocolate" I applied a quick drying top coat.  As you can see from the photo these two polishes are not perfect dupes, though they are very similar.  OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" is a hair bit darker in color and as you can see on my pinkie finger has visible shimmer.  Both nail polishes have nice formulas and were very easy to apply.

OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" retails at stores for around $9.50 (USD) a bottle.  But it can be found on Amazon for around $5 (USD) a bottle.  While Orly's "Pink Chocolate" can be found in stores for around $7.25 (USD) a bottle or on Amazon for around $5.50 (USD) a bottle.

Overall while OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset" and Orly's "Pink Chocolate" are not perfect dupes they are so similar that you probably don't need both in your collection.  However I cannot say for sure which one I like better.  Both have nice formulas and gorgeous colors and were easy to apply.  And since both can be found on Amazon for a similar price it is impossible to choose.  My only suggestion is to decide if you want a polish with shimmer or not, since OPI's "Grand Canyon Sunset has shimmer and Orly's "Pink Chocolate" is a true crème.

Ciaté "Apple Custard"

Hi everyone and happy almost Thanksgiving!  With Thanksgiving coming up later this week all I can think about if food, especially dessert so I felt Ciaté's "Apple Custard" was the perfect fit for today's post!

Ciaté's "Apple Custard" is not surprisingly a green color.  It is a very pretty green that is an interesting and unique color.  It is bright, but at the same time has a hint of being dusty and also the polish is vibrant but also lighter.  I am in love with his gorgeous color!  Formula wise "Apple Custard" was very easy to apply and was completely opaque after two coats.  There were also no visible streak marks!  As for chipping "Apple Custard" lasted three days before it started to chip, and even then it was mostly tip chips.

Overall I am fairly pleased with Ciaté's "Apple Custard" because it is a fabulous color, a great formula that was easy to apply, opaque after two coats and had no streak marks, and it lasted three days before chipping!  I will definitely be wearing this polish again and again!

Wet 'n Wild "Eggplant Frost"

Hi everyone!  Happy one week until Thanksgiving!  (Seriously I am so ready for some delicious turkey and stuffing!)  Today's polish is Wet 'n Wild's "Eggplant Frost" which is a super pretty Autumn/Winter color!

"Eggplant Frost" is a deep plum purple polish with just a hint of silver shimmer in it.  Formula wise this polish is pretty good, the only thing that would make it just a little better was if the brush were slightly bigger.  The brush was so narrow that it didn't pick up a lot of polish and I ended up having to re-dip the brush to finish out each nail.  After two coats of polish "Eggplant Frost" was completely opaque and had only a few minor streak marks, which often happens with shimmer nail polish!  As for chipping "Eggplant Frost" lasted about two days before I had some major tip chips!  I think the tip chips were more obvious because it is a darker colored polish, but I still would have preferred to wear "Eggplant Frost" for longer!

Overall I really like Wet 'n Wild's "Eggplant Frost."  The color is gorgeous, the formula is good, it was opaque after two coats and had just a few minor streak marks!  The only disappointment was how quickly "Eggplant Frost" chipped!  However I will probably wear this nail polish again because there are times when I just want to wear a nail polish for special occasions!

Sephora by OPI "My Personal Serpent"

Hi guys!  Even though it isn't truly Winter yet, the weather begs to differ because it has been so cold the last few days!  So to go along with the icy cold weather today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "My Personal Serpent."  Sephora by OPI is a discontinued brand of nail polish so I'm not sure how easy it is to find this polish.

"My Personal Serpent" is a very pretty deep navy nail polish.  Formula wise "My Personal Serpent" is the tiniest bit watery, and when you pair that with the small brush head it was somewhat difficult to paint my nails.  After two coats of polish "My Personal Serpent" was completely opaque ad had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear this polish for about four days before the chips became noticeable.

Overall Sephora by OPI's "My Personal Serpent" is a nice polish.  Everything about this nail polish is lovely except the slightly watery formula, however I think with a little practice the application would get easier.  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish again and again!

Milani "Sugar Rush"

Hi guys!  Another Autumn day, and another Autumn polish!  Today I decided to try out Milani's "Sugar Rush" which reminds of of the changing leaves!  Also I have never tried a Milani nail polish before so I was super excited to try it out!

Milani's "Sugar Rush" is a major glitter polish that has white, silver, peach, and light green glitter in a clear base.  The glitters are all pastel and remind me of Autumn because they aren't bright like a lot of glitter polishes.  Formula wise "Sugar Rush" is very watery but with a little patience it was still easy enough to apply.  Since "Sugar Rush" is in a clear base coat I decided to test it out over several different colored cream polishes!

The first polish I decided to try with "Sugar Rush" was Julep "Leah" which is a grass green polish.  I thought that a bright green would pull out the pastel green glitter in Milani's "Sugar Rush" but it didn't.  Instead it showed off the peach colored glitter.  It doesn't look horrible but it wasn't my favorite combination.

The second nail polish I decided to try out with "Sugar Rush" was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "White On" which is (obviously) a white nail polish.  This look turned out to be very unique because as I spread the glitter out on my nail it seemed to blend with the white polish to create a layered look.  The way this combination turned out is one of my favorites!

The third and final polish I decided to try with "Sugar Rush" is Essie's "Romper Room" which is a light baby pink polish.  Even though none of the glitter is pink I thought the combination of colored glitter would look nice together.  I really like this combination because the light pink polish really makes the green and orange glitter pop!

Overall I really like Milani's "Sugar Rush" because the glitter colors are such a fun and unique combination.  I will definitely be wearing this polish a lot and I hope to try it out over many more different crème colored base polishes.

Julie G "Butterflies & Rosebuds"

Hi guys!  Happy Veteran's Day and thanks to all who serve and have served!  Now that weather is colder I decided to pull out a gorgeous berry colored polish to start off the fun for Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks (at least here in the USA.)  Today's nail polish is Julie G's "Butterflies & Rosebuds."

"Butterflies & Rosebuds" is a deep berry polish with gorgeous gold glitter in it!  It looks gorgeous in the sunlight!  The formula of "Butterflies & Rosebuds" is amazing and it was super easy to apply!  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and had absolutely no visible streak marks!  As for chipping "Butterflies & Rosebuds" lasted about three days before the chipping became so horrible that I had to remove the polish.  (As you can see in the photo above and that was after only a day and a half!)

Overall I am pleased with Julie G's "Butterflies & Rosebuds" because the color is gorgeous, the formula is very nice and easy to apply and after two coats of polish there were no streak marks and the polish was completely opaque!  While I would have preferred to wear "Butterflies & Rosebuds" longer before it chipped, three days isn't too bad.  I will definitely be wearing this polish over and over again!

Julep "Leah"

Hi guys!  So now that Autumn is in full swing and the leaves have started to change and the weather has gotten cold I am already dreaming on next Spring when the weather warms back up!  So today I decided to pull out a Springtime nail polish and pretend that Winter is over (before it even starts!)  Today's polish is Julep's "Leah."

"Leah" is a gorgeous grass green polish that has a very faint shimmer to it!  It reminds me of Spring when everything turns green and comes back to life!  Formula wise "Leah" is good and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish "Leah" was completely opaque and only had a couple of minor streak marks, which was probably because of the faint shimmer.  As for chipping "Leah" lasted for about a day before it started to nick and chip, which was definitely disappointing.

Overall I like Julep's "Leah."  The color is so pretty, the formula is nice and I am always happy when a nail polish is opaque after two coats of polish!  However it was disappointing that "Leah" chipped so quickly!  I will probably give Julep's "Leah" another chance and see if it chips as easily the next time around.

OPI "Miss Piggy's Big Number"

Hi all!  Happy November!  I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep the other night when Daylight Savings Time ended!  To celebrate the extra hour I picked out a fun blue nail polish by OPI called "Miss Piggy's Big Number."

"Miss Piggy's Big Number" is  royal blue shimmer that shines nicely in the light!  (As you can probably tell from the picture!)  Formula wise "Miss Piggy's Big Number" is good and was fairly easy to apply.  The only slightly difficult part of applying this polish was the brush which did not seem to want to hold any polish and meant it was hard to get nice even brush stroked.  After two coats of polish "Miss Piggy's Big Number" was almost completely opaque but it did has a fair amount of streak marks, which it isn't too surprising that there are streak marks because it is a shimmery polish.  As for chipping it is hard to say since "Miss Piggy's Big Number" did not seem to want to dry!  After applying a nice coat of Orly's "Sec'N'Dry" (my preferred quick drying top coat) and waiting a good amount of time for my nails to set, "Miss Piggy's Big Number" began to smudge off onto anything my nails came in contact with.  Which was very disappointing.

Overall I have mixed feelings about OPI's "Miss Piggy's Big Number."  The formula was nice and the color is very pretty, but it was disappointing that the polish was not completely opaque and that it refused to dry and could not be worn for longer! I am going to give this nail polish another try when the weather gets warm again because perhaps the temperature might make a difference.

Sally Hansen Big Matte Top Coat

Hi everyone and Happy November!  I cannot believe how quickly 2014 has flown by!  So earlier this year I came across this Sally Hansen matte top coat and I has been wanting to try out a matte top coat so I picked it up!  Also as far as top coats go this was under $6 (USD) so I figured I couldn't go wrong!  So to try out this matte top coat I've spent the last couple of months trying it out over several polishes in my collection!  Here's how it went:

The first polish I decided to try the matte top coat on was butterLONDON's "Lillibet's Jubilee" which is a silver shimmer polish.  I wondered how a shimmer would look as a matte and this nail polish didn't disappoint!  Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat worked wonders on the silver shimmer of "Lillibet's Jubilee" and made it look like a pewter instead.  And I love how it turned out:

The second polish I decided to try out is Essie's "Mojito Madness" which is a super pretty green color!  Now when I tried this color out in March it had this gorgeous high gloss look and I wanted to see how it would look with a matte finish.  I think it turned out nicely:

The third nail polish I decided to test out is OPI's "Every Month Is Octoberfest" which is this gorgeous deep burgundy color with a lot of gold and burgundy shimmer.  I decided to test this polish with a matte top coat because I wanted to see how the shimmer would look.  I was surprised how much the matte top coat dulled the shimmer down, but it created this amazing deep burgundy/ oxblood nail polish!  Here's how it turned out:

The forth nail polish I decided to try is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in "Coral Reef."  "Coral Reef" is a bright coral colored crème polish and I decided to try it out with a matte top coat just to see how it would look.  (Basically I tried it because I could.)  Here's how it turned out:

The fifth, and last, nail polish I decided to try out is ULTA's "Ultra Violet Femme" which is a purple, neon, shimmer nail polish.  I wanted to see how a matte top coat would work with a neon polish.  Here's how t turned out:

Overall I am very pleased with Sally Hansen's Big Matte Top Coat!  It applies very easily and allows me to make a matte polish out of just about all of my nail polishes!  I love how well the Big Matte Top Coat worked on every nail polish I tried, but my favorite is definitely OPI's "Every Month Is Octoberfest" because it just looked amazing as a matte!  I cannot wait to try it out on even more polishes!

Finger Paints "Art Nouveau Nectarine"

Hi guys!  I can't believe Halloween is tomorrow and that October is almost over!  Since October ends tomorrow this will be my last pink nail polish post for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  (And a promise that next month there will be some other colored nail polishes that aren't pink!)  My final pink polish of October is Finger Paints "Art Nouveau Nectarine."  I am very excited to try out this polish because Finger Paints is a brand I have never tried before!

"Art Nouveau Nectarine" is a very pretty coral colored polish!  Formula wise "Art Nouveau Nectarine" is a a little bit thick, which made for thick coats of polish on my nails.  However after two coats of polish there were no visible streak marks and it was completely opaque on my nails!  "Art Nouveau Nectarine" began to chip after only two days, and I think it chipped so quickly because the polish went on so thick!

Overall Finger Paint's "Art Nouveau Nectarine" is a nice polish.  The color is very pretty, it was completely opaque after two coats of polish and it had no visible streak marks.  However it would have been nice if the polish wasn't quite as thick because then it would have been easier to apply and probably would not have chipped as quickly.  I am willing to give "Art Nouveau Nectarine" another try because I think will a little patience and practice I can probably apply thinner coats of polish to my nails.

Nails INC "Bruton Street"

Hi guys!  It is still October so I am still rocking pink nail polish in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  This month I have done a lot of brighter pinks so today I thought I would mix it up and wear a dusty pink polish.  After digging through my Rubbermaid bins I settled on Nails INC's "Bruton Street."

"Bruton Street" is a light dusty pink, that almost has a purple tint to it.  As for the formula it is slightly on the watery side, which made it a tiny bit more difficult to apply.  However after two coats of polish "Bruton Street" was completely opaque and only had a few minor streak marks.  In terms of chipping I was able to wear "Bruton Street" for three days before "Bruton Street" began chipping off in large chunks.

Overall Nails INC's "Bruton Street" is okay.  While the formula is slightly watery and the polish did chip after just three days "Bruton Street" was completely opaque after two coats of polish and had no visible streak marks and the color is very pretty.

Ciaté "Candy Floss"

Hi guys!  I can't believe it is almost Halloween!  I am looking forward to seeing all the cute costumes and eating the candy as I pass it out!  Today's polish is Ciaté's "Candy Floss" which I have in a miniature version.  I purchased "Candy Floss" as part of Ciaté's  2013 Christmas Advent Calendar.  The set looks like this:

"Candy Floss" is underneath number 9.

"Candy Floss" is a blue-based bubblegum pink polish.  The formula of "Candy Floss" is pretty good and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish "Candy Floss" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Candy Floss" for five days before the tip chips started.  However it wasn't the tip chips that caused me to remove "Candy Floss" but rather the fact that my nails had grown and there was a gap up by my nail beds.

Overall I am very happy with Ciaté's "Candy Floss."  The formula is good and easy to apply, it was opaque after two coats and had no visible streak marks, it is a very pretty color and lasted five days before any chipping occurred and even then the chipping was very minor!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish over and over again!

Rimmel London "Posh Pink"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe how quickly October is flying by and pretty soon it'll be Halloween!  But since it is still October that means another pink nail polish to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  Today's polish is Rimmel London's "Posh Pink"

"Posh Pink" is a bright pink crème polish that would make a great color for Summer!  As for the formula "Posh Pink" was kind of watery and it made for super thick and uneven coats.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque but there were a lot of visible streak marks.  As for chipping that's impossible to say because "Posh Pink" refused to dry and smudged off my nails within a couple of hours.

Overall I am very unimpressed with Rimmel London's "Posh Pink."  The only thing I like about this polish is the color, and I am fairly confident that a similar color can be found by a different nail polish brand.  I definitely will not be wearing "Posh Pink" again any time soon!

Zoya "Tinsley"

Hi everyone!  It is still October so that means it is time for another pink nail polish!  Hooray for celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  Since I am back home in North Carolina the leaves have started to change and it definitely feels like Autumn has arrived.  I dug through my collection and found Zoya's "Tinsley" which seems to mix really well with the colors of the changing leaves!

"Tinsley" is a warm pink/red polish with yellow and orange shimmer in it and is gorgeous!  Formula wise "Tinsley" was good and after two coats of polish it was completely opaque.  However there were some minor streak marks but honestly it was barely noticeable because of the shimmer.  As for chipping "Tinsley" lasted less than a day before it started to look bad.  Even though "Tinsley" is a glitter it was fairly easy to remove, which was nice.

Overall Zoya's "Tinsley" is a fair nail polish.  Everything about it was great except for the fact that it chipped after less than a day!  I would be willing to give this polish another go and maybe next time it'll last longer!

OPI "Italian Love Affair"

Hi guys!  I can't believe we are halfway through October already!  But since it is still October that means another pink nail polish for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!  And today is an extra special post because it is also a Wednesday!  ("And on Wednesday's we wear pink!" to quote Mean Girls!)  Today I picked out OPI's "Italian Love Affair."

"Italian Love Affair" is a lovely baby pink polish with just a hint of shimmer and it almost a perfect match for the pink in the logo for Breast Cancer.  Formula wise "Italian Love Affair" is very good and it was nice and easy to apply.  After two coats "Italian Love Affair" was completely opaque and only had some very minor streak marks due to the hint of shimmer in the polish.  As for chipping it started shortly after I put it on and by the end of day two my nails looked so horrible I had to remove the polish.

Overall I like OPI's "Italian Love Affair" because the color is gorgeous and the formula is very good and easy to apply.  However I do wish I could have work "Italian Love Affair" for longer than two days before the chips looked so horrible.  I will be giving this polish another try and maybe next time I can wear it for more than two days.
