China Glaze "Chillin' With My Snow-mies"

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas and is looking forward to the new year! But for today it is still Winter and for most of us that means the chance of snow (except North Carolina has currently forgotten how to Winter!)  And with snow on the mind today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Chillin' With My Snow-mies."

"Chillin' With My Snow-mies" is a multi-sized hexagonal white glitter in a clear base coat.  Formula wise the clear base is quite watery and it is difficult to get the glitter on to the brush.  "Chillin' With My Snow-mies" takes great patience to apply.  Since this polish is meant to be worn as a top coat I decided to test it out over a colored nail polish.

The nail polish I decided to try with "Chillin' With My Snow-mies" is Orly's "Elsbeth Rose."  I settled on this combination because pink and white always look adorable together.  I really like this combination and reminds me of Springtime.

If you want to know more about Orly's "Elsbeth Rose" check out my post from October: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/10/orly-elsbeth-rose.html

Overall I have mixed feelings about China Glaze's "Chillin' With My Snow-mies."  I love the idea of white glitter but with the watery clear polish it made it miserable to try and apply.  I am willing to give this polish another try but I need to look into alternative ways to apply the glitter to make it easier.

Nicole by OPI "Carnival Cotton Candy"

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas (if you celebrate) and Happy Almost New Year!  With the new year approaching I couldn't resist pulling out a bright fun color to end the year with!  Today's polish is Nicole by OPI's "Carnival Cotton Candy," which was part of singer Carrie Underwood's collection.

"Carnival Cotton Candy" is a hot bubble gum pink nail polish.  Formula wise this polish was fantastic and very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish "Carnival Cotton Candy" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this nail polish for about four days before there were any noticeable chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Nicole by OPI's "Carnival Cotton Candy."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I plan on rocking it a lot next Spring and Summer.

Christmas 2015 Nail Art

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas!  Since today is Christmas I decided to do a fun snowflake nail art, which is quite hilarious since it was a balmy 75 degrees outside today. (Maybe one day I'll see a white Christmas!)

Here are the polishes I used to create this snowflake nail art:

Maybelline's "Blue Bombshell," Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear's "White On," and Nails INC's "Trafalgar Square."

This nail art is very easy, but here's a quick run down of how I did it!  First I painted my nails with Maybelline's "Blue Bombshell" and allowed it to dry thoroughly.  Next I used Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear's "White On" with a dotting tool to create the snowflakes.  After the snowflakes had dried I applied a coat of Nails INC's "Trafalgar Square."  I then finished the design off with a quick drying topcoat.

If you want to know more about Maybelline's "Blue Bombshell" check out my post from earlier this month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/12/maybelline-blue-bombshell.html

Overall I really like how cute this nail art turned out!  And since I didn't get a real white Christmas I enjoyed having snowflakes on my nails!

FLOWER "Pansy Shmansy"

Hi everyone and Happy almost Christmas!!  Today's nail polish is FLOWER's "Pansy Shmansy."  (Pardon the awful photo but it was the best I could get on such a rainy day!)

"Pansy Shmansy" is a dusty purple colored creme nail polish.  Formula wise "Pansy Shmansy" was fantastic and almost opaque after one coat!  However I applied a second coat of polish just to even out the polish.  And after two coats "Pansy Shmansy" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Pansy Shmansy" for about three days before there were noticeable tip chips.  Unfortunately when I removed this polish it left stains all over my nails, which was frustrating.

Overall I have mixed feelings about FLOWER's "Pansy Shmansy."  I love how this nail polish can be worn as a one-coater but it is so annoying to have stains on my nails!  I will probably wear this nail polish again but only for a short time to try and prevent staining.

Sephora by OPI's "Be-Claus I Said So"

Hi guys and happy almost Christmas!  (Less than a week to go!!)  So today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "Be-Claus I Said So."  Side note: Sephora by OPI (also known as SOPI) is a retired brand of nail polish that was once sold at Sephora stores and may not be easy to find these days.

"Be-Claus I Said So" is a bright red chunky glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was very easy to apply, which is fantastic for a glitter!  Of course being a glitter it was not completely opaque after two coats but it did cover the nail well.  Since "Be-Claus I Said So" is a glitter in a clear base I decided to test it out over a red creme polish.

The red creme polish that I picked out is Ciaté's "Boudoir."  The combination was lovely and sparkled nicely and is perfect for the Christmas season!  I will wear this combination again as it will also work nicely for Valentine's Day.

If you want to know more about Ciaté's "Boudoir" check out my post from earlier this month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/12/ciate-boudoir.html

Overall I am really pleased with Sephora by OPI's "Be-Claus I Said So."  Everything about this glitter polish is fantastic and I will wear it again!

China Glaze "No Peeking!"

Hi everyone!  As Christmas gets closer the pile of gifts looks more and more tempting, but we still have six more days before they can be opened.  So to remind me I picked out today's polish, China Glaze's "No Peeking!"  I purchased "No Peeking!" last Christmas season as part of a holiday trio called Bringing in the Season, which looks like this:

"No Peeking!" is a very pretty iridescent dark purple.  Formula wise this polish was a little bit watery, but still easy enough to apply.  After two coats of polish "No Peeking!" was completely opaque but because of the iridescent shimmer there were some minor streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "No Peeking!" for about five full days before there were some small chips.

Overall I am very happy with China Glaze's "No Peeking!"  Everything about this nail polish is nice and I love the color!  I plan on wearing this nail polish a lot more often!

Essie "Suite Retreat"

Hi all!  I can't believe Christmas is just over a week away!  But while I love Christmas I decided to skip the traditional green and red nails in favor or a blurple polish! Today's nail polish is Essie's "Suite Retreat."

"Suite Retreat" is a gorgeous blurple creme.  (Blurple in case you don't know is a color combination of blue and purple.)  Formula wise "Suite Retreat" is fantastic and was completely opaque after one coat!  I usually always apply a second coat but I was pressed for time and decided it was so wonderfully opaque that there was no reason to use a second coat.  After the one coat of polish, "Suite Retreat" was also streak free.  In terms of chipping I was able to wear this polish for about three days before there were some very minor tip chips.

Overall I am so very happy with Essie's "Suite Retreat" and I plan on wearing this nail polish again and again!

butter LONDON's "West End Wonderland"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe that there are only ten days until Christmas!  Today's nail polish is butter LONDON's "West End Wonderland."  I bought this nail polish as part of a duo set that was available at ULTA for Black Friday 2014.  The set looks like this:

The Duo is part of the Steampunk Ball Collection ans the duo is called Golden Yard.

"West End Wonderland" is a gold glitter nail polish in a clear base.  Formula wise "West End Wonderland" is fantastic and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was fairly opaque for a glitter and sparkled nicely on my nails.

Since "West End Wonderland" has a clear base I decided to test it out over a a burgundy polish.  The burgundy nail polish I picked out is Maybelline's "Wine & Forever."  The combinations turned out nicely and is perfect for Christmastime!

If you want to know more about "Wine & Forever" check out this post from earlier this year: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/09/maybelline-wine-and-forever.html

Overall I am very pleased with butter LONDON's "West End Wonderland."  Everything about this polish is great and I will definitely be wearing it again!

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Sturdy Sapphire"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone is enjoying December and looking forward to the holiday season!  Since Winter is a time when lots of people wear jewel tones I decided to pull out a nail polish with a jewel in its name!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails in "Sturdy Sapphire."

"Sturdy Sapphire" is not surprisingly a dark blue colored polish (at least in the bottle.)  Formula wise this polish was fine and not too difficult to apply.  However after two cats of "Sturdy Sapphire" it was far from being opaque and definitely had some visible streak marks.  As for chipping I'm not sure how long "Sturdy Sapphire" would last before chipping because it looked so terrible on my nails that I refused to wear it out of the house!

Overall I am disappointed in Sally Hansen's "Sturdy Sapphire."  In the bottle the color of the polish is gorgeous but on my nail that color doesn't shine through.  Not to mention that "Sturdy Sapphire" was not opaque or streak free.  I probably won't be wearing this nail polish again, but I am on the hunt for an actual Sapphire colored polish.

OPI "Ice-Bergers & Fries"

Hi all!  I can't believe Christmas is only two weeks away!  Where did the year go!?!  Since it is Winter and cold I decided to pull out a nail polish from OPI's Fall 2014 Nordic Collection!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Ice-Bergers & Fries."

"Ice-Bergers & Fries" is a nice cocoa brown colored polish.  Formula wise this polish was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats "Ice-Bergers & Fries" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this polish for six full days before there were some very minor tip chips.  But even then I chose to repaint my nails because my nails had grown and there was a visible gap between the polish and my cuticles.

Overall I am super happy with OPI's "Ice-Bergers & Fries."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and I will be wearing it a whole lot more this Winter!

Ciaté "Boudoir"

Hi everyone!  As December presses on we get closer and closer to Christmas!  I'm very excited about Christmas so I decided to pull out the brightest red nail polish I could find.  So today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Boudoir."  This nail polish is part of Ciaté's 2013 Advent Calendar set that looks like this:

"Boudoir" is under #2.

"Boudoir" is a bright red creme colored polish,  Formula wise this nail polish is fantastic and very easy to apply!  After two coats of polish, "Boudoir" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Boudoir" for about four days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall I am very happy with Ciaté's "Boudoir."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I plan on wearing it throughout the holiday season!

"Blue Bombshell" is a gorgeous bright blue creme polish.  Formula wise this nail polish is great and was very easy to apply!  After two coats of polish, "Blue Bombshell" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this nail polish for about four days before there were some small chips.

Overall I am very happy with Maybelline's "Blue Bombshell."  Everything about this nail polish is lovely and I will definitely be wearing this polish again and again!

Sinful Color "Rainstorm"

Hi all!  I hope everyone is enjoying December!  My tiny town celebrated today by having a parade (and I'm pretty sure everyone in the county was in the parade or at the parade!)  It was cold, but great fun!  Anyways, today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Rainstorm."

"Rainstorm" is a lovely cadet blue color, it is a blue with a hint of grey in it.  Formula wise this nail polish is slightly watery but still easy to apply.  After two coats of "Rainstorm" the nail polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this polish for about two days before there were some noticeable tip chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sinful Colors "Rainstorm."  I love the color and that it was opaque after two coats but I wish that I had been able to wear this nail polish for longer before the chipping started.  However since I love the color I am willing to give this nail polish another.

FLOWER "Berry Begonia"

Hi all!  Now that Winter is in full swing I decided to pull out an oxblood colored polish!  So today's nail polish is FLOWER's "Berry Begonia."  (FLOWER by the way is a drugstore brand that is owned by actress, Drew Barrymore.)

"Berry Begonia" is a deep red, oxblood nail polish.  Formula wise "Berry Begonia" is great and very easy to apply.  In fact the nail polish was so great that it can be worn as a one-coater, but I applied a second coat anyways.  After two coats of polish "Berry Begonia" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Berry Begonia" for about four days before there were some tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with FLOWER's "Berry Begonia."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I will definitely be wearing it again soon!

butter LONDON's "Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator"

Usually I show off nail polish but today I thought I would share a great cuticle remover/maintenance product.  This product is by butter LONDON and it is called "Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator."

The way this product works is that you apply it to your cuticles and let it sit for two minutes, then you push your cuticles back and wipe the excess product and dead/removable cuticle.  The product's exact directions state:

          1. Shake well before use.
          2. Apply to overgrown cuticles.
          3. Let sit for two minutes.
          4. Gently push back cuticles and remove debris with soft brush.
          5. Clean excess product from nails after use.

The only thing I did differently from the directions was to use a tissue instead of a brush to remove the dead cuticle and excess product at the same time.

Here are what my nails looked like before I used the "Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator":

Here are what my nails looked like after one use:

Here are what my nails looked like after a second use (I waited a few days before using a second time as to not remove too much of my cuticle):

Overall I am very pleased with butter LONDON's "Melt Away Cuticle Eliminator."  I have always struggled to maintain my cuticles so this product is like a dream come true!  This product is great for people like myself who fail miserably at trimming their cuticles but who wish to maintain beautiful looking nails!  I will definitely continue using this product regularly!

Thanks for reading my blog!  :)
