Wet N' Wild "Burgundy Frost"

Hello all and happy Tuesday!  Today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Burgundy Frost" which I purchased ages ago when I was able to get several on sale.  Here's how this Autumnal color looks in the bottle:

"Burgundy Frost" is a dark burgundy with golden shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was slightly thick but still applied fairly well to my nails.  After two coats "Burgundy Frost" was entirely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Burgundy Frost" for three days before I noticed any chips.  Look at the shimmer up close:

Overall I am pleased with Wet N' Wild's "Burgundy Frost."  I love this Autumnal color and I can't wait to wear it throughout the holiday season!

Wet N' Wild Megarocks "Jam Session"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  Today's final nail polish is Wet N' Wild Megarock's "Jam Session."  This is a random nail polish I discovered tucked away in my collection.  I'm not even sure if Wet N' Wild makes this polish anymore!  Here's how "Jam Session" looks in the bottle:

"Jam Session" is a purple, blue and pink chunky glitter in a clear base coat.  The formula of this polish was watery but with a little patience it still applied pretty decently.  Like most glitters "Jam Session" is meant to be worn as a top coat, so I decided to test it out over some colorful polishes.

The first polish I tested out with "Jam Session" was Ciate's "Encore!"  This design actually made the glitter look blue and would be perfect for a 4th of July celebration!

The second nail polish I tried "Jam Session" was was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Marine Scene."  This combination reminded me of a mermaid's tail and was a lot of fun to wear!  Look at this glitter up close:

Overall I am undecided about Wet N' Wild's "Jam Session."  I like how the glitter looks on my nails and the colors are pretty.  But that being said I work in an office setting where glitters aren't exactly considered acceptably business so I can't wear "Jam Session" a lot.  I'll probably offer this polish to my friends daughter, since she loves glitter!

China Glaze "Electrify"

Hey everyone and a very happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Electrify" which was part of their collection based on the movie The Hunger Games which came out in 2012.  Here's how this fiery glitter looks in the bottle:

"Electrify" is a really pretty red and gold micro glitter in a clear base coat.  The formula of "Electrify" is wonderful and the glitter applied perfectly!  After two coats "Electrify" was surprisingly nearly opaque, chichis fantastic for a glitter.  However since it is a glitter and can be worn as a top coat I decided to test it out over a few colored polishes.

The first nail polish I tested with "Electrify" was Clinique's "Happy."  This combination was fiery and was the perfect look a devil Halloween costume.  I quite like this combo and would wear it again!

The second nail polish was Wet N' Wild's "Lavender Pearlescent."  This was a lot girlies of a combination and would be great for Valentine's Day.  But seriously with this lovely glitter how could it not look nice?!?

Overall I am in love with China Glaze's "Electrify."  there is absolutely nothing bad about this nail polish other than I only own one bottle of it!  I can't wait to wear this nail polish again soon!

Wet N' Wild Shine "Lavender Pearlescent"

Hello all and happy happy Sunday!  Has Spring arrived where you live?  Without further ado, today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Lavender Pearlescent."  Here's how it looks in the bottle:

"Lavender Pearlescent" is weirdly enough a baby pink with shimmer instead of a lavender color.  The formula of this nail polish is nice and it applied on my nail without any issue.  After two coats "Lavender Pearlescent" was opaque with a few streak marks from shimmer.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three or four days before there were some small chips.  Look at this pearly shimmer:

Overall I quite like Wet N' Wild's "Lavender Pearlescent."  Everything about this nail polish is lovely which is fabulous for an affordable drugstore brand.  I plan on keeping this color around in my collection for a long while.

Wet N' Wild "Metallica"

Hey guys and happy Wednesday!  I've fallen ill and am currently snuggled up in bed dreaming of feeling better.  (Here's hoping tomorrow I'm feeling better and can get back to work!)  Today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Metallica" which looks like this in the bottle:

"Metallica" is shockingly a silvery grey nail polish with silver shimmer.  The formal of this polish was good but because of the shimmer there were a lot of streaky marks.  After two coats "Metallica" was completely opaque.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Metallica" for three or four days before there were some chips.  Look at the shimmer in macro:

Overall I quite like Wet N' Wild's "Metallica."  The colors and formula are fantastic and made it fun to wear!  This nail polish will definitely be staying in my collection for a long while to come!

Wet N' Wild Megalast "Candylicious"

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  The work week seems to last forever but the weekend just flies by!  But we're only halfway through October so there are plenty more pink nail polishes in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to help light up your day!  Today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild Megalast's "Candylicious" which has been in my collection for nearly eight years now!

"Candylicious" is a pretty standard pink colored polish - it isn't too bright or too dull.  The formula of this nail polish was pretty good and it applied to my nails easily.  After two coats "Candylicious" was pretty much opaque however there were no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for two days before it began to flake off at the tips, which isn't so surprising since it is a very affordable drugstore brand.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Wet N' Wild's "Candylicious."  This polish isn't anything special and won't be staying around in my collection much longer.

Mermaid Nails

Hi guys and hello Fri-YAY!  Welcome to the weekend!  Today's nail polish is actually some mermaid nail art featuring my first attempt at using vinyls!  I purchased these vinyls on Bundle Monster's website (now Maniology) and they look like this:

Next I needed to select some nail polish to create this design!  I selected Bundle Monster Color's "Peridot", Wet N' Wild's "Black Creme" and Sephora Formula X's "Kaleidoscope."

First off I decided to stick with an accent nail because I work in a strict office setting that doesn't usually allow nail art so I needed to be able to add an accent nail for the weekend that could be removed for a more traditional nail come Monday.  (I wore these last weekend.)  I started by painting my ring finger with two coats of Wet N' Wild's "Black Creme" and the other fingers with Bundle Monster Color's "Peridot."  My nails looked like this:

Next I placed the vinyl on to my ring finger:

I followed this up by several coats of Sephora Formula X's "Kaleidoscope" to create the mermaid's scales.  I peeled off the vinyl, applied Orly's "Sec'N'Dry" as my quick drying top coat and had this gorgeous final look:

Overall I am really happy with how this look turned out!  (Especially for a first attempt!)  The vinyls were super easy to use and gave me a look that wouldn't have been able to create any other way - at least not as easily.  I cannot wait to try out other vinyls!
