Dupes: Julep "Nellie" and butterLONDON "Queen Vic"

Hello guys and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is actual a comparison of Julep's "Nellie" and butterLONDON's "Queen Vic."  Will they be dupes or just similar - you decide!  Here's how they stacked up next to each other in the bottles:

As you can see they looked pretty similar in the bottle.  Next I applied two coats of each polish to my nails.  Julep's "Nellie" is on my middle and pinky fingers while butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" is on my pointer and ring fingers.  Both had a nice formula and applied well.  However once on the nail it became clear that they are not dupes and just similar.  butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" a darker berry color while Julep's "Nellie" was more of a true fuchsia.

If you want to know more about Julep's "Nellie" or butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" check out my previous posts!

Overall these two nail polishes are both gorgeous and perfect for the Autumn/Winter seasons however they are not true dupes.  I plan to keep both in my collection as they are so pretty and look great with my skin tone!

Aquamarine Dupe Post - Round 2

Hello all and happy Tuesday!  Hurricane Florence is creeping her way towards North Carolina and the rain is already endless so here's some blue to continue the rainy trend.  Today's nail polish is actually a comparison of butterLONDON's "Poole," and OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and "My Dogsled Is A Hybrid."  Here's how they compare in the bottles:

As you can see they look fairly similar in the bottle but when I began to apply them on my nails it became apparent that OPI's "My Dogsled Is A Hybrid" was darker than the others.  However OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and butterLONDON's "Poole" are very close to being dupes.  OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" is just the tiniest bit darker than butterLONDON's "Poole."

Overall I was amazed how close OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and butterLONDON's "Poole"are to each other.  I do like all three polishes but my favorite will always be OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" which was part of a Pirates of the Caribbean collection from nearly a decade ago.  However it has long since retired and you'll have better luck finding butterLONDON's "Poole" or OPI's "MY Dogsled Is A Hybrid."

If you want to know more about butterLONDON's "Poole"OPI's "My Dogsled Is A Hybrid" or OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" then check out some of my previous posts!

butterLONDON "Buckie"

Hello guys!  I hope everyone survived Monday!  (One day closer to the weekend right?)  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Buckie."

"Buckie" is a pretty purple polish with a golden iridescent shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was good and applied easily.  After two coats "Buckie" was fully opaque with only one minor streak mark, which is completely normal for an iridescent shimmery polish.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Buckie" for four days before I noticed some tip chips.

Overall I am really pleased with butterLONDON's "Buckie."  This polish is an all-around nice polish that I can wear any time of the year!  I can hardly wait to wear it again very soon!

butterLONDON "Tiddly"

Hey Allan happy Sunday!  It is hard to believe that today is July 1st and we are halfway through 2018!  Now that summer is in full swing I selected a bright colored polish to wear!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Tiddly."

"Tiddly" is a really pretty orange-coral color polish.  The formula of "Tiddly" was slightly watery but it was still fairly easy to apply.  After two coats the nail polish was not quite fully opaque but pretty close.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Tiddly" for three days before it began to flake off.

Overall I have mixed feeling about butterLONDON's "Tiddly."  I absolutely love the color but between the formula, chipping and lack of opaqueness it makes it hard for me to decide if I like the polish or not.

butterLONDON "Sprog"

Hello all!  I hope everyone I enjoying their Sunday!  I'm relaxing in the peace and quiet and hoping the sun comes out soon!  So to encourage the blue skies, today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Sprog."

"Sprog" is a lovely pastel periwinkle colored polish.  Formula wise "Sprog" was nice and it applied well to my nails.  After two coats the nail polish was nearly opaque but did have a few small streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Sprog" for three or four days before I noticed some small chips.

Overall I like butterLONDON's "Sprog."  This polish has a pretty color and is nice for Springtime and Summertime.  I do plan on wearing this polish again but may apply a third coat next time to see if that helps with the streak marks.

Eiffel Tower Nail Art

Hello guys!  Happy Saturday and St, Patrick's Day!  (Oops I forgot to do nail art specifically for the holiday!)  Today's post is some freehand nail art!  I have decided to try and put the Eiffel Tower on my nails.  Here's the Eiffel Tower from my visit in 2015 with a tiny "face behind the nails":

Now my freehand isn't the best, so please be nice.  First off I selected butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" a pretty berry colored polish as the base coat.  It looked like this:

Next I used some dotting tools I purchased on Amazon to create the Eiffel Tower using Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Black Heart" and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Garage Band" for the design.  The dotting tools look like this:

After using the dotting tools I applied my favorite quick drying top coat Orly's "Sec N' Dry" which helped seal in the final look!  Overall I kind of like how this freehand design turned out.  However I would love to get better at freehand nail art.  Any tips you can provide are welcome in the comments.

butterLONDON "Queen Vic"

Hey everyone!  It's a rainy Sunday morning here in the mountains but I can't resist some fuchsia colored nails!  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" which is named after long reigning Queen Victoria of England.

"Queen Vic" is a stunning berry colored polish.  The formula of this nail polish was utterly fantastic and very easy to apply!  I was quite surprised that "Queen Vic" was a one-coater!  However I applied two coats for the pictures.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four days before I noticed some wear and tear on the tips.

Overall I really like butterLONDON's "Queen Vic."  I absolutely adore this color and the formula makes this nail polish even better!  I definitely plan on wearing this polish a lot more often!

Dupe Post: Pastel Yellow Polishes

Hello everyone and happy Thursday.  (I'm so excited it is almost the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is actually a comparison between Orly's "Lemonade," butterLONDON's "Jasper" and ULTA's "Cream Of The Crop."  Here's how the polishes stack up next to each other:

As you can see the polishes in the bottle appear very similar though not completely identical.  For the comparison on my nails I used two coats for Orly's "Lemonade" and three coats for the others.  On the nails butterLONDON's "Jasper" and Orly's "Lemonade" looked the closest with Orly's "Lemonade" having a hair bit more color.  ULTA's "Cream Of The Crop" was the palest of the three.

If you want to know more about Orly's "Lemonade"butterLONDON's "Jasper" or ULTA's "Cream Of The Crop" check out my posts from previous years!

Overall while I think butterLONDON's "Jasper" and Orly's "Lemonade" are close enough to dupes that you probably don't need to own both there is a bigger and noticeable difference for both when compared to ULTA's "Area Of The Crop."  If I had to choose my favorite is Orly's "Lemonade."

butterLONDON "The Sweet Spot"

Hi guys!  Today marks the beginning of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  (At least it is in the United States!)  To honor those who have fought Breast Cancer and those who are currently fighting I like to wear only pink nail polishes for the entire month.  Pink is the color of Breast Cancer.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "The Sweet Spot" which is part of  a limited edition Arm Candy set.  The set looks like this:

"The Sweet Spot" is a pretty dusty pink creme polish.  Formula wise, this nail polish was perfect and extremely easy to apply.  After two coats, "The Sweet Spot" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five full days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I am very pleased with butterLONDON's "The Sweet Spot."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I definitely plan on wearing it again soon!

butterLONDON "Front Row"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  It's miserably rainy out today so I went with a nice calming color to match the weather.  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Front Row."  This polish is part of a limited edition collection called Arm Candy.  The set looks like this:

"Front Row" is a deep burgundy colored polish.  Formula wise this polish was okay, but very streaky.  After two coats, "Front Row" was entirely opaque but it did not look very good on my nails.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for two days before it began to chip.

Overall I have mixed feelings about butterLONDON's "Front Row."  The color looks really nice in the bottle but the looks stopped there and on top of that it chipped very quickly.  I would give this polish another try but not before I try other polishes in my collection.

butterLONDON "Violet's Revenge"

Hi all!  We've nearly made it to the weekend again!  Only one more work day and then I can spend my weekend enjoying the break.  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Violet's Revenge" which I got as part of a special 2016 Allure Magazine collection called Arm Candy.  The set looks like this:

"Violet's Revenge" is a lovely purple nail polish that looked lighter on the nail than it did in the bottle, which was a little disappointing.  Formula wise this polish was good and easy to apply.  After two coats, "Violet's Revenge" was completely opaque and looked great on my nails.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before there were a few small tip chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings about butterLONDON's "Violet's Revenge."  The color was not as pretty as I had hoped and it didn't last very long before chipping.  Its main redeeming quality was that it was easy to apply and opaque.  I will probably give "Violet's Revenge" another chance but not before I try out some of the other polishes in my collection.

Favorite Nail Polishes of 2016!

Hi everyone!  I can't believe 2016 is about to be over.  I am not ready for 2017 yet!  Overall it has been a good year for myself - I celebrated a birthday, watched one best friend become a mom, another get married, I watched my cousin's children grow and I got to take a vacation to Florida (twice!)  So throughout the year as I have worn nail polishes I have picked out twenty-five of my favorites.  They are listed below by color!

Noodles Nail Polish's "Sea Breeze & Palm Trees" is a gorgeous indie nail polish that I ordered off of Etsy.  I love how unique the polish looked on my nails!

China Glaze's "Wanderlust" is a lovely pastel pink/purple with a great shimmer.  This is one of my favorite Spring and Summer nail polishes.

Orly's "Cake Pop" is a really pretty ballerina pink polish that I wore in honor of Breast Cancer awareness in October.

butter LONDON's "Kerfluffle" is a happy, fun and bright nail polish.  I love wearing coral colored polishes because the make my nails look like seashells and reminds me of Summertime!

butter LONDON's "Come To Bed Red" is the perfect cherry red that can be worn all year and it looks good on just about every skin tone!

OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?" is a gorgeous bright red crelly nail polish that looks fantastic on my nails!

Ciaté's "Espadrilles" reminds me of fire and also of the gorgeous Autumn leaves that fall every year.

OPI's "That's Hula-rious" is the prettiest pastel green nail polish I have seen and it is also one of my most worn polishes this year!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Green Thumb" is a lovely olive green nail polish that is a great year-round color!

Ella & Mila's "Samba Beats" is a fun and happy green/turquoise nail polish that I got on Amazon's website.

A England's "Saint George" is the prettiest glittery emerald color.  I purchased this nail polish in Paris in 2015 and have had no regrets.  I would love to get my hands on some more A England nail polishes!

Zoya's "Wednesday" is my favorite color in all the world and I wear it often, especially during Summertime when the weather is nice!

Bonita's "Sea Me" is a great drugstore find and reminds me of mermaid tails.  It is a great nail polish for Summer.

Formula X for Sephora's "Celestial" is a glittery masterpiece.  It covers so well and sparkles endlessly in sunlight.

Nicole by OPI's "Kendall On The Katwalk" is a fun royal blue glitter nail polish that was part of the Kardashian collection.

Formula X for Sephora's "Tide" reminds me of the night sky.  I love this nail polish so much because of how shimmery it is!

Sephora's "Lavender Field" is a bright purple polish that I purchased at Sephora in Paris.  (Biggest Sephora I have ever seen!)

Essie's "Flowerista" is a pretty fuchsia colored nail polish that is perfect for Autumn and is one I wore on multiple occasions throughout the year.

OPI's "Koala Bear-y" is a lovely berry color that I often enjoy wearing on my toes because of how cheery it is!

Nails INC's "Electric Lane" (despite the blurry photo) is a fantastic iridescent glitter polish.  It is basically the perfect topper because it goes with every colored nail polish!

Nails INC's "Radnor Walk" is a lovely nude nail polish that had a surprising matte finish.  I love this nail polish for when I want to wear nail polish but not draw attention to my nails!

Zoya's "Autumn" is a gorgeous shimmery copped colored nail polish that is perfect for Autumn (hence its name!)

China Glaze's "Getting To Gnaw You" is a great Halloween nail polish!  it has a black base with copper glitter and it screams "cauldron"!

Essie's "Frock N' Roll" is a glitter black polish that is edgy and classy at the same time!  I love wearing this nail polish because it is a step out of my usual nail polish!

Nicole by OPI's "Totally In The Dark" is a gorgeous glittery black nail polish that I had a lot of fun wearing and I got a lot of compliments while wearing it!  (And yes it does favor the polish above!)

As 2016 comes to a close I just want to say a great big THANK YOU to everyone for continuing to read my blog and follow me on social media!  I am so excited to see where the nail polish takes us next year and hope you all will continue to follow along with me!

butterLONDON "Scuppered"

Hi guys and happy Wednesday!  I am under the weather this week with an ear infection so I am very glad that the week is over halfway done!  So without further ado today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Scuppered."

"Scuppered" is a unique copper micro-glitter with some larger iridescent green glitter all wrapped up in a clear base.  The formula of this nail polish was fantastic and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Scuppered" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Scuppered" for six days before there were a couple of small noticeable chips.

Overall I am very happy with butterLONDON's "Scuppered."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I would not change anything!  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again very soon!

butterLONDON "The Black Night"

Hi guys and happy Sunday!  I hope everyone enjoyed that extra hour of sleep last night, even if it means the sun will now set by 5pm for the rest of Winter.  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "The Black Knight."

"The Black Knight" is a unique black jelly (a nail polish that is made to be buildable) with multi-colored micro glitter in it.  Formula wise "The Black Knight" was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "The Black Knight" for five days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with butterLONDON's "The Black Knight."  Everything about this nail polish is nice and it looked fantastic on my nails!  I will definitely rock this nail polish again very soon!

butterLONDON "Fruit Machine"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  It is October now and that means all pink nail polishes in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  All month long I'll be featuring a variety of pink polishes so if pink isn't your thing don't worry come November everything goes back to other colored polishes!  Today's pink polish is butterLONDON's "Fruit Machine."

"Fruit Machine" is a very pretty baby pink polish that is perfect for Springtime!  Formula wise this nail polish was the tiniest bit thick but with a little patience it was easy enough to apply.  After two coats "Fruit Machine" was completely opaque and only had one or two minor streaks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four full days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with butterLONDON's "Fruit Machine."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I plan on wearing it a lot next Spring when the flowers bloom again!

butterLONDON "So Major!"

Hi all!  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "So Major!" which is an interesting green color.  "So Major!" is part of a limited edition four piece set by Allure magazine called Arm Candy.  The set looks like this:

"So Major" is a pretty dark olive green colored polish with a hint of shimmer!  The formula of this polish was fantastic and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats, "So Major!" was completely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four full days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I really like butterLONDON's "So Major!"  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and I plan on wearing it again very soon!  Also the color is great for Autumn!
