Orly "Watch It Glitter"

Hello everyone!  We've all survived Monday (hopefully!)  So to brighten a long Monday, today's nail polish is is a gorgeous glitter by Orly called "Watch It Glitter."

"Watch It Glitter" is a chunky gold glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was so-so, the clear base was watery but the glitter spread decently well.  Like many glitter polishes, "Watch It Glitter" isn't meant to be worn along, so I decided to test it out with a few opaque polishes.

The first polish I decided to test out with "Watch It Glitter" was Essence's "The Green And The Grunge."  This combination turned out very nice and would be perfect for Christmastime.

The second polish I decided to try out with "Watch It Glitter" was OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants."  This combination was gorgeous and shimmered nicely in the light.  I would definitely wear this look again!

If you want to know more about Essence's "The Green And The Grunge" or  OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I am very pleased with Orly's "Watch It Glitter."  Often times glitters in a clear base are difficult to apply, but "Watch It Glitter" was very easy to apply and spread easily on my nails.  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again and a again.

Essence "The Green And The Grunge"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  Who else is already counting down to the weekend again?  Today's nail polish is Essence's "The Green And The Grunge."

"The Green And The Grunge" is an average looking green polish that a lighter forest green color. Formula wise this nail polish was very good and applied well, though it smells terrible and always makes me cough.  After one coat, "The Green And The Grunge" was entirely opaque and streak free. However I applied a second coat for the picture.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began there were some small chip marks.

Overall Essence's "The Green And The Grunge" is a good nail polish and it looked nice on my nails. The only downside of this polish is its smell, which irritates my throat.  Because of that I probably won't wear this nail polish very often.

Essence "Girl's Night Out"

Hi all! Today's nail polish is Essence's "Girl's Night Out" which I think is the perfect kind of nail polish to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month with because ever woman deserves to go out with her friends!

"Girl's Night Out" is a hot pink nail polish with a lot of pink shimmer in it.  Formula wise this polish is good and was easy to apply.  After two coats of "Girl's Night Out" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this polish for about three days before there were visible tip chips.  In the past I have had bad luck with Essence nail polishes staining my nails  and "Girl's Night Out" was no exception, unfortunately.

Overall Essence's "Girl's Night Out" is a decent nail polish and it has a nice formula and color, but its downfall is the staining.  I will probably wear this nail polish again but only for special occasions/short time periods that way this polish won't stain my nails!

China Glaze "Fairy Dust"

Hi guys!  It is hard to believe that it is the end of August!  So with the end of Summer approaching I decided to try out a super fun glitter polish!  I went with China Glaze's "Fairy Dust" which I have heard a lot of great things about!

Now "Fairy Dust" isn't necessarily a nail polish to wear on its own, but as you can see in the picture above it actually looks nice by itself.  (I would wear "Fairy Dust" like this if I just wanted a little bit of shimmer!)  But I was also curious how it would look over some other nail polishes, so I picked out a few from my collection and here's how it turned out:

The first nail polish I decided to try "Fairy Dust" on is Essie's "Meet Me At Sunset" which is this gorgeous orange color.  The orange and the glitter reminds me of Orange Crush soda! (Which I love!)  Here's how it looks:

(Here's the post I did about "Meet me At Sunset" a few weeks ago: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2014/08/essie-meet-me-at-sunset.html )

The second polish I tried out is Claire's "Happy Go Lucky" which is almost a blurple, but has a bit more blue in it.  This polish is from Claire's the accessory store and I bought it during a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) sale last January during the after holiday sales.  "Happy Go Lucky" and "Fairy Dust" remind me of the night sky!  Here's how it looks with China Glaze's "Fairy Dust" on top:

(Here's a post all about "Happy go Lucky" from earlier this month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2014/08/claires-happy-go-lucky.html )

The third nail polish I decided to test out is Orly's "Lemonade" which is a pale lemon yellow crème.  "Lemonade" is a wonderful Spring and Summer color and I was curious to know glitter would look over a pastel, and it looked okay but it wasn't my favorite.  Here's how it turned out:

(If you want to know more about "Lemonade" here's a post about it from June: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2014/06/orly-lemonade.html )

The forth polish I decided to try out is Essence's "Let's Get Lost" which is a bright turquoise color.  I tend to love blue nail polishes with glitter as they remind me of the sun shining off of the ocean or a swimming pool!  Here's how it turned out:

(Here is a post about "Let's Get Lost" from May: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2014/05/essence-lets-get-lost.html )

The fifth, and last, polish I tested out is Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear in "Coral Reef."  "Coral Reef" is a super bright, almost neon, coral colored nail polish.  I wanted to see how China Glaze's "Fairy Dust" looks over a bright nail polish and here's how it turned out:

(Here's a post all about "Coral Reef" if you want to know more: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2014/08/sally-hansen-xtreme-wear-coral-reef.html )

I really like China Glaze's "Fairy Dust" and cannot pick a favorite look from this post!  I will definitely be using "Fairy Dust" more often!  And on the plus side while my job doesn't like extreme glitter nails, "Fairy Dust" has enough glitter to be fun but not enough to be banned from work!

Essence "Let's Get Lost"

Hi guys!  Since Summer is pretty much here (at least here in the South it is) I decided to wear a bright blue nail polish this week by Essence called "Let's Get Lost."  Blue nail polish always reminds me of a Summer sky and the name is a perfect reminder of a Summertime adventure!

So diving on in, "Let's Get Lost" is a very pigmented polish and actually only required one coat to completely cover my nail and be opaque.  The formula is amazing and was super easy to apply on my nails.  However since "Let's Get Lost" is very bright it stained my fingers and my nails, which meant that I wasn't able to wear it very long and I have no idea how long it would have lasted before chipping.

Overall I really like Essence's "Let's Get Lost" the name and color are great and so is the formula.  The only downside is how much it stained my skin and nails, which means I won't be wear this nail polish again any time soon!

Essence "Off To Miami!"

Hi everyone and Happy December!  Now usually I wear slightly more subdued colors in the Winter because it is darker out and ice cold where I live, but I was so excited to finally get my hands on an Essence nail polish that I just couldn't wait to try it out, even though it is more of a Summer color!  So this week I am decided to try out Essence's "Off To Miami!"

Essence is a British brand of nail polish and it took me an eternity to find some at an ULTA store, and then when I did they had a very small selection.  "Off To Miami!" was the only one that the ULTA had that I liked.  "Off To Miami!" is this super pretty coral color, with a lot of hot pink and I love it.  Formula wise "Off To Miami!" is fantastic and was almost opaque after one coat, which is always a plus, however I used two coats like I always do.  As for chipping "Off To Miami!" lasted about five days before I saw any chipping, which thrilled me!  I think Essence's "Off To Miami!" would have lasted a day or two longer but I ruined one of my nails with a Band-Aid (apparently Band-Aids love nail polish!)  Removing "Off To Miami!" was super easy and my nails had no stains and that makes me very happy!

Overall I am very pleased with Essence nail polish and "Off To Miami!" is a gorgeous color, with a great formula, no streaking, no staining, and long lasting!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish again and I plan on buying more Essence polishes as soon as I can get my hands on some!
