Dupe Post: Coral Colored Polishes

Hi everyone!  With the end of Summer drawing closer I decided to pull out some coral colored polish and pretend that Summer will last forever!  I noticed that several of the bottles look very similar and decided to compare three of them.  Today I'm comparing Essie's "Van D'Go," Nicole by OPI's "Selena," and FLOWER's "What's The Daffodilly-O?"

Before I start comparing color let me tell you a little about each one.

Essie's "Van D'Go" is a pastel baby pink cream with a good formula that was easy to apply.  After two coats the nail polish was completely opaque and streak free.

Nicole by OPI's "Selena" is a pastel coral colored polish, this isn't quite a true cream.  The formula was good.  To learn more about this polish check out a previous post I did:
http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2013/05/nicole-by-opi-selena.html

FLOWER's "What's The Daffodilly-O?" is a slightly bright coral pink cream.  The formula
of this polish was nice and easy to apply.  To learn more about this polish check out my
previous post here: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2013/03/flower-whats-daffodilly-o.html

As you can see from the picture on my nails none of these three polished are dupes
(or identical.)  FLOWER's "What's The Daffodilly-O?" turned out to be a lot darker on
my nails than the Essie and Nicole by OPI polishes.  However Essie's "Van D'Go" and
Nicole by OPI's "Selena" were much more similar.  Nicole by OPI's "Selena" was a
tiniest bit darker than Essie's "Van D'Go" and because "Selena" isn't a true cream they
create a different look on the nails.

Overall it's nice to know that these three nail polishes are all different because it means
my nails can always look nice in a variety of coral colored nail polish!

Nicole by OPI "Did He Wink At Me?"

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!  (We made it to the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Did He Wink At Me?'

"Did He Wink At Me?" is a beautiful purple creme polish.  The formula of this polish is fantastic!  It was very easy to apply and looked great on my nails!  After two coats of polish "Did He Wink At Me?" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear this polish for about three days before there were any noticeable tip chips.

Overall I am very happy with Nicole by OPI's "Did He Wink At Me?"  Everything about this nail polish is great and I will definitely wear it again and again!

Piggy Polish "Vincent's Stars"

Hi everyone and happy almost Friday!  Today's nail polish is Piggy Polish's "Vincent's Stars" which is clearly named after the painter Vincent Van Gogh, whose paintings I really love.

"Vincent's Stars" is a fun royal blue color with silver shimmer in it that reminds me of VanGogh's painting Starry Starry Night.  Formula wise "Vincent's Stars" was very easy to apply and was opaque after two coats of polish.  There were also no visible streak marks, which is nice in a nail polish that has shimmer.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Vincent's Stars" for about three days before there were visible tip chips.

Overall I quite like Piggy Polishes "Vincent's Stars."  Everything about about this nail polish is great and I will definitely be wearing this polish over and over again!

Ciaté "Loop The Loop"

Hi everyone!  Today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Loop The Loop."  I have a mini bottle of "Loop The Loop" because it came as part of a set last Christmas (2014).  The set is called Mini Mani Mansion and it looks like this:

"Loop The Loop" is a pastel lemon yellow polish.  Formula wise this polish is fantastic and was very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish "Loop The Loop" was completely opaque but did have a fair amount of noticeable streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Loop The Loop" for about five full days before there were tip chips and the nail polish started to crack.

Overall I am very pleased with Ciaté's "Loop The Loop."  Everything about this nail polish is nice and I will definitely be wearing it again soon!

butter LONDON "Two Finger Salute"

Hi everyone and happy Last Day of Summer!  (At least for everyone around me in North Carolina!) Today's nail polish is butter LONDON's "Two Finger Salute."

"Two Finger Salute" is a unique dusty teal colored polish with small gold flaky glitter.  I originally purchased this color because the name reminded me of the three-finger salute they do in The Hunger Games books and movies, but I ended up loving the color once it was on my nails!  Formula wise "Two Finger Salute" is fantastic!  It was super easy to apply and after two coats of polish there were no visible streak marks and it was completely opaque.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Two Finger Salute" for about four days before there were any visible chips.

Overall I am very pleased with butter LONDON's "Two Finger Salute."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I will definitely be wearing it again soon!

Rimmel London "Mind The Gap, Victoria"

Hi guys!  Today's nail polish is Rimmel London's "Mind The Gap, Victoria."  I just had to have this polish because the name is a shout out to London's Tube system, and if you know me then you know I love London!

"Mind The Gap, Victoria" is a lovely periwinkle color.  Formula wise "Mind The Gap, Victoria" is great!  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and streak free.  Rimmel London's brushes are nice and wide, which helped make the application very easy.  As for chipping "Mind The Gap, Victoria" lasted for about three days before there were visible chips.

Overall I am quite pleased with Rimmel London's "Mind The Gap, Victoria."  I love everything about this polish from its name to is fantastic formula and application!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish again and again!

China Glaze "Stop That Train!"

Hi guys!  I know it isn't anywhere close to being Autumn yet (well at least not in North Carolina!) but I couldn't resist pulling out a nice fall hue.  So today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Stop That Train!"

"Stop That Train!" is a gorgeous Autumn leaf red with a hint of golden shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was pretty good, however the brush did like to pick up a fair amount of polish every time.  After two coats of nail polish there were no visible streak marks and it was completely opaque.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Stop That Train" for about two and a half or three days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I like China Glaze's "Stop That Train!"  For the most part I really like this polish but I wish that it had lasted longer than three days before chipping.  However since I love the color so much I will wear "Stop That Train!" again!

Julep "Bunny"

Hi everyone!  While it is still Summer and acceptable to wear white I decided to pull out a white nail polish to brighten up nails!  So today's nail polish is Julep's "Bunny."

"Bunny" is a bright white polish with a minor gold shimmer in it.  Formula wise "Bunny" is watery and it is a bit difficult to apply.  After two coats of nail polish "Bunny" was completely opaque and streak free.  However because of the watery formula the polish was pretty thick on my nails and it had a hard time drying!  In fact I struggled so much that I ended up only wearing "Bunny" for a few hours before removing it.

Overall I am disappointed with Julep's "Bunny."  The watery formula made it difficult to apply, thick coats of polish and it took an eternity to dry!  Basically the color is pretty and that's it.

Sally Hansen Velvet "Velour"

Hi guys!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen's Velvet in "Velour." Velvet is one of Sally Hansen's textured collections and based on the name it makes your nails slightly fuzzy like velvet.

"Velour" is a fun royal purple color.  Formula wise "Velour" was easy to apply and surprisingly could have been a one-coater!  I used two coats of polish per the directions on the bottle which said apply two thin coats of polish.  The texture was unique to say the least.  I expected it to be fuzzier or somewhat 3-D, but it wasn't.  Instead it looked more like a stippling effect and when "Velour" dried it had a matte finish.  Here's how it looked matte:

Since I didn't care for how the matte version of "Velour" looked so I decided to apply a shiny topcoat and see how it looked.  The topcoat I use is Orly's "Sec'N'Dry."  Here's how it turned out:

Overall I am slightly disappointed by Sally Hansen's "Velour."  While I like the color and I was curious about the Velvet texture it went downhill after that.  The texture was a let down and the unexpected matte finish took away from the color.  I did however, like how "Velour" looked after I applied the shiny topcoat.  Not sure how often I'll wear this nail polish but when I do I'll stick to adding a shiny topcoat.

Wet n' Wild "Caribbean Frost"

Hi all and happy Thursday!  Last Summer I bought a bunch of Wet n' WIld nail polishes so I decided to try one of them out!   Today's nail polish is Wet n' Wild's "Caribbean Frost."

"Caribbean Frost" is a gorgeous frosty turquoise polish!  Now I haven't had the best luck with Wet n' Wild nail polish but "Caribbean Frost" is changing my mind!  The formula was great and it was super easy to apply!  After two coats of polish "Caribbean Frost" was completely opaque and the only visible streak marks were because of the frost shimmer.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Caribbean Frost" for three days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall Wet n' Wild's "Caribbean Frost" is a fantastic nail polish!  There is absolutely nothing bad about this polish and I plan on wearing "Caribbean Frost" over and over again!

"Flamed Out" is a bright orange glitter polish!  Formula wise "Flamed Out" was very easy to apply and looked great on my nails.  "Flamed Out" was completely opaque after two coats of polish and there were no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Flamed Out" for about four days before the polish started to chip off.

Overall I am pleased with Covergirl's "Flamed Out."  Everything about this polish is great and I will definitely be wearing it again and again!

Nails INC "Tate"

Hi all!  Now this Summer I have have been working on growing my nails out some and I think red nail polish on longer nails looks nice.  So that's exactly what I decided to try today!  So without further ado today's nail polish is Nails INC's "Tate."

My bottle of "Tate" came in a boxed set I purchased from a TV channel in the United States called QVC.  The full set looks like this:

"Tate" of a very classic and sophisticated red polish.  Formula wise "Tate" is fantastic and could be a one-coater!  I applied two coats and there were no visible streak marks and it was completely opaque.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Tate" for four full days before there were some minor tip chips.  When I removed this polish there was a small amount of staining on my nails, but it was not too awful.

Overall I really happy with Nails INC's "Tate."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic, with the exception of the minor staining on my nails.  I will definitely wear "Tate" again because it is such a lovely polish!

Bonita "Creaaamson"

Hi everyone and happy Friday!!  Today's nail polish is Bonita's "Creaaamson."  Bonita is a drugstore brand that I have found at Rite-Aid and it is quite affordable.

"Creaaamson" is a fun sunshine yellow nail polish!  Formula wise "Creaaamson" is nice and easy to apply.  The polish was not too or too watery.  After two coats of polish "Creaaamson" was completely opaque  and there only a few minor streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear this nail polish for about three days before there were noticeable chips.

Overall I am pleased with Bonita's "Creaaamson."  The color is fun, the formula is nice, the polish was opaque and had very little streak and it lasted a decent amount of time before chipping.  I will definitely be wearing this fun, summery polish again!

Nicole by OPI "Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?"

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday.  I couldn't miss out on the opportunity this week to quote Mean Girls and say "on Wednesday we wear pink!"  So today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?"

"Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?" is a pretty dusty salmon color.  Formula wise "Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?" is great!  This polish was super easy to apply, was opaque after two coats and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?" for about three days before there was some small top chips.

Overall I am quite pleased with Nicole by OPI's "Who Are You Calling A Shrimp?"  I love everything about this nail polish!  There is nothing bad, or even remotely irritating about this nail polish and I will definitely wear it again soon!

OPI "Queen Of The Road"

Hi all!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Queen Of The Road" which is from OPI's special collection celebrating Ford Mustangs.

"Queen Of The Road" is a jet black nail polish with a hint of silver shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was a bit watery, which made it a little harder to apply.  After two coats of nail polish "Queen Of The Road" was completely opaque and only had a few minor streak marks.  As for chipping I'm not sure how long "Queen Of The Road" would last because black nail polish is a bit dark for my everyday life and is something I would only wear on special occasions.

Overall I like OPI's "Queen Of The Road" is a nice nail polish.  The only thing I wish was different was that the formula was a little less watery, however it isn't too terrible.  I will definitely wear this nail polish again!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Splash"

Hi guys and happy August!  Now that August is here I have finally caught up on all my back logged posts from while I was on vacation!  So without any further ado today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Splash."

"Splash" is a blue and white glitter in a clear base coat.  Formula wise there is too much clear polish and not enough glitter which made it a bit difficult to apply.  However I love the multi-shaded blues paired with white glitter.  Since the nail polish has a clear base I decided to try it out over several creme polishes.  Here's how they turned out:

As with most of my glitters I tested "Splash" over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "White On" which is of course a white polish.  This combo is pretty good but I did have a hard time getting the polish to dry, even with a quick dying topcoat.

The second combination I tried was "Splash" over Julie G's "Gelato In Venice." which is a mint green color.  This is a nice combination and the mint made the blue glitter pop!

If you want to know more about Julie G's "Gelato In Venice" here is a post from last month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/07/julie-g-gelato-in-venice.html

The last combination I tried was Sally Hansen's "Splash" over Orly's "Snowcone."  This combinations screams the beach and waves!  (It's the perfect combo for Summer!)

If you want to know more about "Snowcone" check out my post from last month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/07/orly-snowcone.html

Overall I am quite pleased with Sally Hansen's "Splash."  The glitter is a tiny bit difficult to apply but it looks great over a variety of different colored base polishes.  I will definitely wear this again and again!
