OPI "OPI Ink"

Hi all!  I can't believe that November is almost over!  It's going to be Christmas before we know it! Today's nail polish is OPI's "OPI Ink."  I got this nail polish in a trio called The Purple Collection Trio.  The set looks like this:

"OPI Ink" is a deep purple nail polish with blue micro-glitter.  Formula wise "OPI Ink" is nice and easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was not completely opaque.  There were no visible streak marks but you could see through to the nail bed in some places.  As for chipping I was able to wear "OPI Ink" for about two days before there were noticeable chips.

Overall I like OPI's "OPI Ink" but for such a dark color I expected the polish to be opaque.  I do really love the color though so I will give this nail polish another go!

November 2015 Dupe Post!

Hi all and happy almost December!  I hope everyone in the United States enjoyed Thanksgiving and isn't burning themselves out Black Friday shopping!  Today's post is a comparison of Sephora by OPI's "Metro Chic" and "Metro Too Chic."  Since the names are similar I decided to find out is they are dupes.  Here's how they look side by side in their bottles:

On the left if Sephora by OPI's "Metro Chic" and on the right is Sephora by OPI's "Metro Too Chic."

As you can see they look very similar in the bottle so I was keen to test them out of my nails. Formula wise both polishes were easy to apply and were completely opaque after two coats of nail polish.  The main difference between the polishes "Metro Chic" has a creme finish while "Metro Too Chic" has a shimmery finish.  Other than that both nail polishes are identical which isn't too surprising since they are both by the same company and feature almost identical names.  Both "Metro Chic" and "Metro Too Chic" are mini bottles that came in different sets.

"Metro Chic" is part of a QVC's special collection from a few Christmas' back.  The set looks like this:

"Metro Too Chic" is part of a mini collection called Metro Too Chic Collection which looks like this:

Overall I like both Sephora by OPI's "Metro Chic" and "Metro Too Chic" and they are definitely as close to identical as it could get.  The only difference is the slight shimmer in "Metro Too Chic." Both nail polishes are great and I will wear both polishes again!

Essie "Mochacino"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving tomorrow (well at least in the United States.)  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Mochacino" which I had the pleasure of wearing to a wedding this past October.

"Mochacino" is a lovely light brown polish with lots of silver shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was just right and very easy to apply.  After two coats of nail polish "Mochacino" was completely opaque and streak free!  As for chipping I was able to wear "Mochacino" for about four days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I am very happy with Essie's "Mochacino."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and I definitely plan on wearing it again and again!

Orly Color Blast "Frozen"

Hi everyone!  As we creep closer to December the weather continues to get colder and colder so I picked out a nail polish that goes with the weather.  Today's nail polish is Orly's Color Blast "Frozen" which is part of a collection based on the hit Disney movie Frozen.

"Frozen" is a light blue with a purple and silver holographic polish.  Formula wise "Frozen" is slightly watery but still easy enough to apply.  After two coats of polish "Frozen" was completely opaque but the holographic shimmer caused a fair amount of streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Frozen" for three days before there were some chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Orly's Color Blast in "Frozen."  The polish is pretty and fun and I think it is great that Orly branching out into drugstores at a more affordable price is fantastic!  I plan of trying out some more polishes from Orly's new line soon!

Essie "In Stitches"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  With Autumn in full swing I couldn't resist pulling out a nice berry colored polish!  So without any further ado today's nail polish is Essie's "In Stitches."

"In Stitches" is a nice dusty red colored polish.  Formula wise "In Stitches" is great and very easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping "In Stitches" lasted about five days before there were some noticeable tip chips, which is great for a red based polish.  (I often find they chip easily!)  Also I was worried about staining but "In Stitches" came off my nails very easily and left no stains!

Overall I am really like Essie's "In Stitches."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and perfect for Autumn!  I definitely plan on wearing this polish throughout the rest of Autumn and right into Winter!

Zoya "Prim"

Hi all and happy almost Friday!  (The weekend is nearly in sight again!)  With the release of the final installment of The Hunger Games trilogy I decided to pull out a polish that celebrates the movie.  So today's nail polish is Zoya's "Prim."

"Prim" is a very pretty cadet blue nail polish with a lot of silver shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was easy to apply and was completely opaque after two coats of polish.  However because of all the silver shimmer there were some visible streak marks.  As for chipping, "Prim" lasted about three days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall I really like Zoya's "Prim."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I love the color!  I got lots of compliments and will definitely be wearing this nail polish a lot more often.

Formula X "Spectacle"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe Thanksgiving and Black Friday are only just a little over a week away!  It feels like it was just Summer yesterday and now the holiday season has arrived again!  So I picked out a lovely shimmery polish that is perfect for the season to wear today!  And that nail polish is Formula X for Sephora's "Spectacle."

"Spectacle" is a very pretty berry colored polish that dries matte.  Formula wise "Spectacle" was very easy to apply and went on nicely.  After two coats "Spectacle" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Spectacle" for about five days before there were some noticeable tip chips.

Overall I am very happy with Formula X for Sephora's "Spectacle."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I will definitely wear "Spectacle" again soon!

L'Oreal "Le Pastille"

Hi everyone!  It's been a long and interesting weekend but tomorrow is the start of another, and hopefully happier week.  So today's nail polish is is L'Oreal's "Le Pastille."

"Le Pastille" is an interesting cream colored polish with a milky look to it and some black glitter tossed in for good measure.  I'm pretty sure it is supposed to look like the Robin's egg polish that were popular a year or so back.  Formula wise "Le Pastille" was good and very easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was not completely opaque but it looked nice and there were no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Le Pastille" for about two days before the glitter started catching on everything.

Overall I like L'Oreal's "Le Pastille."  The polish pretty and a different look than most of the nail polishes in my collection.  I do wish I could have worn "Le Pastille" for more than two days but otherwise this nail polish is great!  I will definitely wear this polish again!

Orly "Merlot Mist"

Hi all!  It's Friday again, which means the weekend is nearly here!  (Even if it is Friday the 13th!) So to help survive an unlucky Friday the 13th I picked out a nice shimmery polish!  Today's nail polish is Orly's "Merlot Mist."

"Merlot Mist" is a beautiful burgundy color with a hint of shimmer.  Formula wise "Merlot Mist" was great and it was easy to apply.  After one coat the nail polish was completely opaque, which is always awesome!  Even though "Merlot Mist" was opaque after one coat of polish I always apply two coats of nail polish so that's what I did.  And after two coats of polish "Merlot Mist" was still opaque but there were some minor streak marks from the shimmer in the polish.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Merlot Mist" for four days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Orly's "Merlot Mist."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic especially the fact that it is a one-coater!  I will be wearing this nail polish a lot more!

OPI "Care To Danse?"

Hi everyone and Happy Veteran's Day!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Care To Dance?" which I got in an adorable trio set.  The set is called The Color of Purple Trio that ULTA had for $15 (USD) on Black Friday last year.  The trio looks like this:

"Care To Danse?" is a clear polish with a hint of lavender that would be the perfect nail polish for a French manicure.  Formula wise "Care To Danse?" is great and very easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was not opaque (but it wasn't meant to be) and there were no visible streak marks.  As for chipping I'm not sure how long "Care To Danse?" would last because since it is meant for a French manicure and that isn't what I was going for.

Overall I am very pleased with OPI's "Care To Danse?"  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and next time I wear a French manicure I will definitely be pulling this nail polish back out!

Candie's "Galactic Dust"

Hi everyone!  Today's nail polish is Candie's "Galactic Dust."  Candie's is a store brand of Kohl's, which is an affordable American department store where most things are on sale all the time.

"Galactic Dust" is a chunky silver glitter nail polish in a clear base.  Formula wise "Galactic Dust" was easy enough to apply but it did take some patience to spread the glitter evenly.  Since this polish is a chunky glitter it is meant to be worn as a top coat over colored polishes, so I decided to test it out over a couple polishes!

The first combination is "Galactic Dust" over China Glaze's "Good Witch?" which creates a very princess-y look!  I really like how young and girly this look is and it would be the perfect accent for a trip to Disney.

If you want to know my about China Glaze's "Good Witch?" check out my post from last month: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/10/china-glaze-good-witch.html

The second combination is "Galactic Dust" over Essie's "Ruffles & Feathers."  This combination is fun because silver and turquoise look so nice together!  It reminds me of the ocean with the silver sparkles looking like the sun hitting the water!

If you want to know more about Essie's "Ruffles & Feathers" check out my post from September: http://perfectlypolished12.blogspot.com/2015/09/essie-ruffles-feathers.html

Overall I am pretty pleased with Candie's "Galactic Dust."  It is a nice glitter polish and it looks good over a variety of creme polish!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish over and over again!

Pure Ice "Home Run"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  (We finally made it to the weekend!)  Since the World Series just ended I decided to pull out a baseball themed polish!  So without further do today's nail polish is Pure Ice's "Home Run."

"Home Run" is a pretty aquamarine colored nail polish.  Formula wise "Home Run" is watery and that makes it difficult to apply.  After two coats of polish "Home Run" was completely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping "Home Run" lasted about two full days before there were tip chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Pure Ice's "Home Run."  I love the color and that the polish was opaque and streak free but I dislike the watery formula and how quickly the polish chipped.  I may wear this nail polish again but it is a bit frustrating to spend so much time trying to get the polish on my nail for it to chip after such a short time.

Beautifully Disney "Tis' Brillig"

Hi everyone and happy nearly Friday!  (We can do it!)  Today's nail polish is Beautifully Disney's "Tis' Brillig."  This nail polish brand is a Disney brand that I purchased in the parks on one of my trips there.  "Tis' Brillig" is part of a mini set called Curiouser ad Curiouser that looks like this:

"Tis' Brillig" is a nude colored polish with a hint of golden shimmer that is meant to go along with the movie Alice in Wonderland.  Formula wise "Tis' Brillig" is great and was super easy to apply. After two coats the polish was completely opaque and had almost no visible streak marks on my nail. In terms of chipping "Tis' Brillig" lasted about three days before there were some chips on my nails.

Overall I really like Beautifully Disney's "Tis' Brillig."  Everything about this nail polish is nice and also the nude color is very sophisticated and classy.  I plan on wearing "Tis' Brillig" a lot because it calm and relaxing.

Sinful Colors "Cauldron Couture"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone enjoy Halloween last weekend!  So today's nail polish is a throw back to Halloween and it is Sinful Colors "Cauldron Couture."

"Cauldron Couture" is  black and green chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise "Cauldron Couture" is difficult to apply because the clear base is very watery.  It was definitely a struggle to get the glitter on the brush and then onto my nails.  "Cauldron Couture" is a top coat and is not meant to be opaque on the nail, so I decided to test it out over another polish.

The first combination I tried with "Cauldron Couture" is Sally Hansen's Hard As Nails in "Black Heart."  This combination definitely looks like Halloween and isn't something I would wear regularly.

Overall I like Sinful Colors "Cauldron Couture."  I like most everything about this nail polish except for the watery formula because it takes an eternity to get the glitter on to my nails.  I will wear this nail polish again, but probably only during the Halloween season.

OPI "Juice Bar Hopping"

Hi everyone and happy November!  I had a great time rocking pink nail polishes last month in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month but I am thrilled to wear some different colored polishes this month!  For our first post-pink nail polish I picked out OPI's "Juice Bar Hopping."

"Juice Bar Hopping" is a neon orange nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish is fantastic and very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Juice Bar Hopping" was almost entirely opaque with just a hint of the nail visible.  There were however no visible streak marks!  Like with most neon polishes they dry with a matte finish, but I applied a top coat that made the polish look shiny.  As for chipping I was able to wear "Juice Bar Hopping" for about three or four days before there were noticeable chips on my nails.

Overall I really like OPI's "Juice Bar Hopping."  Everything about this nail polish was fair, though I wish the polish had been completely opaque.  This polish is so bright and fun and I look forward to wearing it next Spring and Summer!
