China Glaze "Cast A Spell"

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Cast A Spell" which is the perfect way to finish out September and head into Halloween season that is October!

"Cast A Spell" is a gorgeous deep green polish with green and yellow shimmer.  The formula of this polish was stunning and it applied fabulously well.  After only one coat, "Cast A Spell" was entirely opaque and streak free.  However I applied a second coat as I always do.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five full days before I had some normal tip wear.

Overall I am in love with China Glaze's "Cast A Spell."  Everything about this nail polish is fun and fantastic!  I cannot wait to wear it a lot more often!

Cactus Nails

Hi all and welcome to Friday eve!  (Seriously this has been a long week!) Today's nail art is my attempt at freehand cacti - and it didn't turn out so great so let's be kind.  First I needed to pick out some nail polishes for this design.  Here are the ones I selected:

OPI "Your Palapa Or Mine?, Orly "Coffee Break", OPI Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet", China Glaze's "I Just Canterlot" and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Heather Hustle."

I used China Glaze's "Eat, Pink & Be Merry" as the base coat.  (And totally forgot to include it in the bottle shot - whoops!)  Here's how it looked after two coats:

Next I used these nice dotting tools from Amazon to help me create the design:

After that I used all the other polishes to design various cacti and succulents.  (Or attempt to anyways.)  As you can see they turned out okay but definitely not the best looking cacti!

Overall this was a fun nail art attempt for my cacti and succulent loving self but there is definitely  room for improvement.  I'm still not sure how so many people have the gift of freehand design but I am certainly not one of them!

If you want to know more about OPI's "Your Palapa Or Mine?" or Orly's "Coffee Break" check out my previous posts!

Lacquer Lust "Fabergé"

Hey guys and happy Wednesday!  Today's nail polish is Lacquer Lust's "Fabergé" which I got in a mystery box from Live. Love. Polish.  This is the first time I've tried a Lacquer Lust polish and I am really excited!

"Fabergé" is a lovely dusty lilac colored polish with silver shimmer and purple and white miniature glitter.  The formula of "Fabergé" was perfect, just thick enough to catch the glitter but still easy to apply to my nail in nice even coats.  After two coats the polish was not quite opaque because I used sheer coats.  I added a third coat and it looked perfect!  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Fabergé" for four days before I had some minor tip wear.

Overall I am in love with Lacquer Lust's "Fabergé."  Absolutely everything about this nail polish is wonderful!  I will definitely be wearing it again and looking to buy more polishes by Lacquer Lust!

Nicole by OPI "Alex By The Books"

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!  Today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Alex By The Books" which was part of the Modern Family collection from a few summers back.  Alex is the nerdy teenage daughter on the show but she's so sassy and has always been my favorite!

"Alex By The Books" is a pretty aquamarine colored polish.  The formula of "Alex By The Books" was the tiniest bit watery but still applied well to my nails.  After two coats, the polish was entirely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Alex By The Books" for four days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I am surprised by how nice Nicole by OPI's "Alex By The Books" is!  I was worried since the formula was slightly watery that it would not look good but it surprised me and looks fantastic!  I will definitely wear this nail polish more often!

Ciaté "Chinchilla"

Hi guys and happy Sunday!  After sunshine yesterday for the first day of Fall, we have now taken a weather nose dive into rain.  So I went with a cooler color for today's nail polish, which is Ciaté's "Chinchilla" which was part of their annual advent calendar from 2013.  The set looks like this:

"Chinchilla" is a pretty pastel periwinkle colored polish.  Formula wise "Chinchilla" was slightly thick but it applied nice and evenly.  After two coats the nail polish was entirely opaque but had several visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before I noticed some tip wear.

Overall I like Ciaté's "Chinchilla" and it is a unique color in my collection.  I will probably wear this nail polish a lot come Winter as it is a nice neutral color.

Color Club "Enchanted"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  The sun is out and despite it being the first day of Fall, someone forgot to tell the South.  So it still feels like Summer.  But anyways, today's nail polish is color Club's "Enchanted."

"Enchanted" is a silver holo.  I think it looks more shimmer than a true holographic polish but it is rather pretty.  The formula of "Enchanted" was good and it applied well.  After two coats the nail polish was entirely opaque and only had one or two streak marks which were mostly shimmer related.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Enchanted" for four days.

Overall I am happy with Color Club's "Enchanted."  The polish is really pretty and is a great addition to my collection!  I'll be wearing it often, especially when I want a fun shiny bright look!

L'Oreal "Fleur de Lis"

Hi everyone and welcome back to the weekend!  So without any further ado, today's nail polish is L'Oreal's "Fleur de Lis."  I knew I had to buy this polish because I love the fleur de lis design and pretty much anything French.

"Fleur de Lis" is a pretty lavender colored polish with silver shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was surprisingly good and applied really well to my nails.  After two coats, "Fleur de Lis" was almost fully opaque but you could see my nail line but there were no real streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began to chip off.

Overall I have mixed feelings of L'Oreal's "Fleur de Lis."  I love the color and the name but I wish it was more opaque and lasted longer on my nails.  I'm not sure how long this polish will stay in my collection but it's color is a really lovely Springtime pastel.

A England "Anne Boleyn"

Hey all and happy Wednesday!  Today's nail polish is A England's "Anne Boleyn" which is part of their Tudoresque Collection which I knew I needed because I'm a huge history nerd.

"Anne Boleyn" is a pretty Burgundy polish with silver shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was awesome and applied perfectly.  After a single coat "Anne Boleyn" was opaque and streak free.  However, as always, I applied a second coat for the photo.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for a full week before my nails grew out and I needed to repaint my nails.

Overall A England's "Anne Boleyn" is absolutely perfect!  There is nothing bad about this polish at all and I cannot wait to wear it again and again!

Illimité "Estranged Lovers"

Hey everyone! I hope you all have survived Monday!  Today's nail polish is Illimité's "Estranged Lovers."  Illimité is a brand of nail polish I purchased Live. Love. Polish. which is a website that sells nail polish and nail care items.

"Estranged Lovers" is purple in the bottle but actually a gorgeous emerald green color on my nails and the chrome shift is fabulous, however the coloring didn't transfer very well in photos!  Formula wise this nail polish was the tiniest bit watery but applied really well.  After two coats "Estranged Lovers" was fully opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for six days before I noticed some minor tip wear.

Overall I am really pleased with Illimité's "Estranged Lovers."  Everything about this polish is perfect and it looks so stunning on my nails!  I can hardly wait to wear this polish again and again!

Essie "Bangle Jangle"

Hello all and happy Saturday!  Hurricane Florence has brought the wind and rain but so far we've been lucky enough to keep our power!  (However the rain is supposed to pummel us all day today.)  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Bangle Jangle" which I have had since 2011!

"Bangle Jangle" is a lovely dusty lilac colored polish.  The formula of "Bangle Jangle" was good and it applied well to my nails.  After two coats, the nail polish was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Bangle Jangle" for six days before I noticed some wear and tear.

Overall I am really thrilled with Essie's "Bangle Jangle."  There is absolutely nothing that I don't love about this nail polish and I plan to continue to wear it often!

Sinful Colors "Ciao Bella"

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!  North Carolina counties to be in the line of fire for hurricane Florence so we'll see what happens.  (Here's hoping everyone stays safe out here!)  Without further ado, today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Ciao Bella."

"Ciao Bella" is a gorgeous royal blue polish with bright blue shimmer.  The formula of "Ciao Bella" was great and easy to apply.  After two coats the polish was entirely opaque with no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Ciao Bella" for four days before I noticed a few minor tip chips.

Overall I am pleased with Sinful Colors "Ciao Bella."  The color is stunning and is great for Summer and Autumn!  I have been enjoying wearing this polish so much and plan to wear it until the bottle runs out!

Aquamarine Dupe Post - Round 2

Hello all and happy Tuesday!  Hurricane Florence is creeping her way towards North Carolina and the rain is already endless so here's some blue to continue the rainy trend.  Today's nail polish is actually a comparison of butterLONDON's "Poole," and OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and "My Dogsled Is A Hybrid."  Here's how they compare in the bottles:

As you can see they look fairly similar in the bottle but when I began to apply them on my nails it became apparent that OPI's "My Dogsled Is A Hybrid" was darker than the others.  However OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and butterLONDON's "Poole" are very close to being dupes.  OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" is just the tiniest bit darker than butterLONDON's "Poole."

Overall I was amazed how close OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" and butterLONDON's "Poole"are to each other.  I do like all three polishes but my favorite will always be OPI's "Mermaid's Tears" which was part of a Pirates of the Caribbean collection from nearly a decade ago.  However it has long since retired and you'll have better luck finding butterLONDON's "Poole" or OPI's "MY Dogsled Is A Hybrid."

Bundle Monster Color "Peridot"

Hi guys and happy Sunday.  Hurricane Florence is slowly creeping towards here on the east coast so I decided to go with a rainy day nail color!  Today's nail polish is Bundle Monster Color's "Peridot" which can be used as a stamping polish!

"Peridot" is an absolutely gorgeous silver and green iridescent shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was very thick, which works well for stamping but not so much for wearing on the entire nail.  After only a single coat "Peridot" was entirely opaque but with a few streak marks.  However as usual I did apply a second coat to test the wear time out.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Peridot" for three days before there were noticeable tip chips.  Also when I removed "Peridot" I had a lot of green staining!

Overall I have mixed feelings on Bundle Monster Color's "Peridot."  I adore the color and it works fantastic for stamping but the thick application and staining are definite downsides.  That being said I'll continue to stamp designs but not wear "Peridot" as a stand alone polish.

Rose Nail Art

Hello all and happy Saturday!  Today's ail polish is actually some fun and simple rose nail art!  This is the first nail art I have done that I have truly loved!  I pretty much just watched my nails the entire time I wore this look!  To create this fun look I selected these polishes:

Sinful Colors "Festival Fairy", Sally Hansen Extreme Wear "Razz-berry", Essie "Pink About It", China Glaze "Hey Sailor" and Pacifica "Sea Monster."

First I applied two coats of Sinful Colors "Festival Fairy" to my nails so they looked like this:

Next I pulled out my Bundle Monster mat and swirled drops of the pink and red polish together to create rose blobs on my nails.  The mat looked like this:

To create the blobs I used my Bundle Monster nail art tools.  The tools came in a back and one end is a brush and the other a dotting tool.  I used the dotting tool ends:

After that I added some green leaves using Pacifica's "Sea Monster" and my nails were complete!  The look is so adorable:

If you want to know more about Sinful Colors "Festival Fairy" or China Glaze's "Hey Sailor" check out my previous posts.

Overall I am in love with how these freehand nails came out!  I got a ton of compliments and they looked like they took a lot more time than they did!  I plan on trying this look out again with different colored flowers!

OPI "Sparrow Me The Drama"

Hi all and welcome to the weekend!!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Sparrow Me The Drama" which was part of a Pirates of the Caribbean collection from about a decade ago.  (How it has been that long is amazing to me!)

"Sparrow Me The Drama" is a really pretty lilac colored creme polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was wonderful and applied well to my nails.  After two coats "Sparrow Me The Drama" was fully opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for six full days before I noticed any chips!

Overall I am really happy with OPI's "Sparrow Me The Drama."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and I think it will work all Spring and Summer long!  I'll be wearing this polish a lot more often!

Zoya "Scout"

Hi everyone and happy hump day!  We're almost back at the weekend again!  To help keep the sunshine going I picked out a fun bright polish for today!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Zoya's "Scout."

"Scout" is a unique chartreuse polish with shimmer.  Formula wise  "Scout" was fantastic and applied with ease.  After two coats the nail polish was fully opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Scout" for five days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I am really pleased with Zoya's "Scout." It has a great formula but it is also such a unique color in my collection!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish all Autumn long!

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Crayola "Wisteria"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  It has been a busy day today but the weather was nice!  (I think Fall might be just around the corner!)  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Wisteria" from their Crayola collection.

"Wisteria" is a very pretty dusty lilac colored polish.  The formula of "Wisteria" was good and applied easily.  However, the brush head was so large that it made it difficult to apply.  After two coats the nail polish was opaque but with the large brush head there were several streak marks and uneven polish.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Wisteria for two days before it began to chip.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Wisteria."  The color is gorgeous but the difficult application and uneven look are a bit of a let down.  I'm not sure whether I'll give this nail polish another go.

Essie "East Hampton Cottage"

Hey guys and happy Labor Day for those of you in the United States who have the day off of work!  I am spending mine watching TV reruns and lounging in the air conditioning.  Today's nail polish is Essie's "East Hampton Cottage."

"East Hampton Cottage" is a lovely baby pink polish.  The formula of this nail polish was slightly watery but applied fairly well.  After two coats "East Hampton Cottage" was not opaque and had a couple streak marks.  I think this polish would be good for a French manicure but not worn alone.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "East Hampton Cottage" for three days before there were chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings on Essie's "East Hampton Cottage."  The color is pretty but it definitely isn't enough color for me.  Plus the formulation and the wear time are not as great as some of the other baby pink polishes I own.

Sephora Formula X "Kaleidoscope"

Hey guys!  It has been a super busy Saturday here!  But without further ado, today's nail polish is Sephora Formula X's "Kaleidoscope."  Formula X is a retired brand that used to be sold exclusively at Sephora stores - it replaced their original Sephora by OPI line.  It was discontinued a few years ago so unfortunately you probably won't be able to get your hands on this polish anymore.

"Kaleidoscope" is a really pretty purple and blue iridescent shimmer.  The formula of "Kaleidoscope" was great and it applied with ease.  Since it is an iridescent polish it is mean to be worn as a top coat so I decided to test it out over some colored polishes.

The first polish I decided to test with "Kaleidoscope" was Pupa's "400."  This combination was pretty and would be easy to wear with a variety of clothes.

The second polish I tried out with "Kaleidoscope" was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Mint Sorbet."  This combination reminded me of a mermaid tale!

If you want to know more about Pupa's "400" or Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Mint Sorbet" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I really like Sephora Formula X's "Kaleidoscope."  This iridescent shimmer is fantastic and would pair well with just about any polish in my collection.  I can't wait to try it out over additional polishes!
