Essie "Grow Stronger"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  (Wh-hoo it's the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is actually a nail strengthener!  So without further ado here is Essie's "Grow Stronger" which came as part of a set to honor Breast Cancer Awareness in 2015.  The set looks like this:

"Grow Stronger" is a clear nail polish that is supposed to help your nails grow longer and stronger.  To test this I decided to wear naked nails for a week with nothing but "Grow Stronger."  Here's how my nails looked prior to applying "Grow Stronger":

I did notice during application that the formula was fine but it took ages to dry that I almost decided to put a quick drying top coat on top of it.  Even after letting the polish dry for two hours before going to bed I still woke up the next morning with marks and ripples which was annoying and didn't make my nails look nice.  I wore "Grow Stronger" for a week and here is how my nails looked like:

As you can see my nails did grow a fair amount while I was wearing "Grow Stronger."  I also feel like they looked shinier and healthier as well as having a better curve.

Overall I really like Essie's "Grow Stronger."  I definitely plan on wearing this strengthening polish more often to help my nails stay healthy.

Nicole by OPI "Gone Wishin'"

Hello all and happy happy Thursday!  The sun is shining here in North Carolina and for the first time in months the temperature is warm!  To celebrate I went with a glitter polish today!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Gone Wishin'."

"Gone Wishin'" is a fun purple and blue glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was great and very easy to apply as a top coat but it did not like the sponge technique.  As with most glitters they are fun to wear as a top coat, so I decided to test it out with some fun colored polishes.

The first polish I decided to test out with "Gone Wishin'" was China Glaze's "Flying Dragon."  This combination was gorgeous and very muted.  I would definitely wear these two together again!

The second polish I decided to try out with "Gone Wishin'" is L. A. Colors "L. A. Blue."  This turned out to be a fun glittery look that I would be happy to wear sitting beach side this Summer!

If you want to know more about China Glaze "Flying Dragon" or L. A. Colors "L. A. Blue" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I really like Nicole by OPI's "Gone Wishin'."  I plan on wearing this glitter polish a lot more often until the bottle runs out!  It is going to make for a great accent nail all Summer long!

Nails INC "Chelsea Psychic Garden"

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday!  Hopefully you are having a less eventful day than I am and maybe you're having nice Spring weather too!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Nails INC's "Chelsea Psychic Garden."

"Chelsea Psychic Garden" is a stunning bright aquamarine colored polish.  (It's my favorite color of all time!). The formula of this nail polish was so watery, which was a bit disappointing.  After two coats, "Chelsea Psychic Garden" was opaque but there were some spots on the tips f my nails where the polish refused to stick to.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Chelsea Psychic Garden" for two days before it began to flake off.

Overall I am a bit disappointed with Nails INC's "Chelsea Psychic Garden."  Aside from the gorgeous color it wasn't really a winner for formula, application or wearability.  In the end I am not sure whether I would be willing to wear this nail polish again or not.

KBShimmer Cuticle Oil

Hello everyone!  I hope you all survived Monday.  Today's post doesn't feature nail polish but instead some cuticle care!  So without further ado here is my thoughts on KBShimmer Cuticle Oil.

I purchased my KBShimmer Cuticle Oil on Live. Love. Polish. and it has been a life saver this Winter!  It smells of Raspberry Vanilla and keeps my cuticles clean and soft.  I have been using it nightly for about two months now and I see a major improvement to my cuticles.  I am running low but I haven't seen it back in stock on Live. Love. Polish. so I am going to order my next batch from KBShimmer's website directly.

Overall I could not be more pleased by KBShimmer's Cuticle Oil.  There's not enough good things I can say about this oil!  I will continue applying this cuticle oil each night for better happier nails.

Essie "Winning Streak"

Hello all and happy Sunday!  I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend so far!  Supposedly it snowed while I was out of town but when I got home from a mini-vacation today the snow had gone.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Essie's "Winning Streak."

"Winning Streak" is a nice calming purple grey nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was slightly on the watery side but by wipe the excess polish off the brush it applied well without flooding the nail bed.  After only one coat, "Winning Streak" was completely opaque with no streak marks.  That being said I applied a second coat for the picture above.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for five days before I noticed some tip chips.

Overall I really like Essie's "Winning Streak."  This polish is a lovely calming color and great for Autumn and Winter.  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish more often!

OPI "Melon Of Troy"

Hey guys and happy Friday!  I am out of town for the weekend and enjoying a break.  What are your plans for the weekend?  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Melon Of Troy" which I had to have in my collection for its great play on words!

"Melon Of troy" is not surprisingly a light pink melon color with some shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was pretty good and applied easily to my nails without much clean-up required.  After two coats, "Melon Of Troy" was entirely opaque but did have a few streak marks from the shimmer.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Melon Of Troy" for five full days before it began to chip off.

Overall OPI's "Melon Of Troy" was fantastic!  I love the color and how easy it was to apply.  Also the color is perfect for the Summer - which is when I will be wearing this nail polish on repeat!

Cirque Colors "Mermaid Parade"

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!  Today's nail polish is Cirque Colors "Mermaid Parade."  Cirque Colors is a fun indie brand of polish that I purchased on the website Live. Love. Polish.  The polish is four free and made in the United States of America.

"Mermaid Parade" is a gorgeous deep turquoise nail polish!  The formula was absolutely perfect and applied with ease.  "Mermaid Parade" is a one-coater that had no streak marks or unevenness on my nails.  (I did apply a second coat for the photo above.)  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Mermaid Parade" for a full week before I noticed a few small tip chips/wear and tear.

Overall I am thrilled by Cirque Colors "Mermaid Parade."  Everything about this nail polish is a real winner!  I definitely plan on buying more colors from this brand!

Zoya "Julianne"

Hey guys and happy Monday!  I hope everyone survived through the day and we are now one day closer to the weekend again!  Today's nail polish is Zoya's "Julianne."

"Julianne" is an absolute stunner - it is a deep purple polish with golden shimmery flecks.  The formula of this nail polish was really good and easy to apply.  After applying two coats, "Julianne" was completely opaque with no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for a full five days before there were a couple minor tip chips.

Overall I am in love with Zoya's "Julianne."  Everything about this nail polish, especially the gorgeous color makes it a nail polish I have to have for my collection.  I can't wait to wear this nail polish again and again!

Eiffel Tower Nail Art

Hello guys!  Happy Saturday and St, Patrick's Day!  (Oops I forgot to do nail art specifically for the holiday!)  Today's post is some freehand nail art!  I have decided to try and put the Eiffel Tower on my nails.  Here's the Eiffel Tower from my visit in 2015 with a tiny "face behind the nails":

Now my freehand isn't the best, so please be nice.  First off I selected butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" a pretty berry colored polish as the base coat.  It looked like this:

Next I used some dotting tools I purchased on Amazon to create the Eiffel Tower using Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Black Heart" and Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Garage Band" for the design.  The dotting tools look like this:

After using the dotting tools I applied my favorite quick drying top coat Orly's "Sec N' Dry" which helped seal in the final look!  Overall I kind of like how this freehand design turned out.  However I would love to get better at freehand nail art.  Any tips you can provide are welcome in the comments.

If you want to know more about butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" check out my post from earlier this year!

Wet N' Wild "Frosted Fuchsia"

Hello everyone and happy Friday!  The sun is shining and I am ready for a nice relaxing weekend full of nothing!  Do you have any nice plans?  Without further ado, today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Frosted Fuchsia."

"Frosted Fuchsia" is a stunning hot pink polish with just a hint of iridescent shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was perfect and applied with ease.  After only one coat of polish, "Frosted Fuchsia" was completely opaque and streak free.  However I applied a second coat of polish for the photo and to wear on my nails.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Frosted Fuchsia" for five full days before I noticed some wear on the tips of my nails.

Overall I am really happy with Wet N' Wild's "Frosted Fuchsia."  Everything about this nail polish from its gorgeous color to its formula and wearability was perfect.  I definitely plan on breaking this nail polish out a lot more often!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine "Kelp Out"

Hi guys and happy Thursday!  It has been a very long week and I am very excited for the weekend tomorrow.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Triple Shine's "Kelp Out."

"Kelp Out" is a bright Summery green nail polish.  Sally Hansen's Triple Shine line of polishes is supposed to dry with a naturally shiny finish, which it seemed to do with "Kelp Out."  The formula of this nail polish was good but a bit thick so it did take a little extra effort to apply.  After two coats, "Kelp Out" was not completely opaque, especially at the tips of my nails where you could see a distinct line.  However there were no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for two days before it began to flake off.

Overall I have very mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Triple Shine's "Kelp Out."  I like the color of the polish but the formula, lack of opaqueness and how easily it chipped were a bit of a let down.  More than likely I will use this polish in the future for nail art but not to wear by itself.

China Glaze "Skyscraper"

Hey everyone and happy Tuesday!  Who else is already ready for the weekend??  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Skyscraper."

"Skyscraper" is an absolutely gorgeous purple and blue glitter nail polish that looks like the night sky!  The formula of this polish was perfect and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Skyscraper" was opaque without any streak marks.  In terms of chipping I was able to wear "Skyscraper" for six full days before there were some wear and tear.

Overall I am really pleased with China Glaze's "Skyscraper."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic - especially the color.  I can hardly wait to wear this nail polish again and again!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Sunkissed"

Hi all!  It has been a long Sunday and I am very tired since we changed the clocks last night and lost an hour of sleep.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Sunkissed" which I have had in my collection since 2010.  (It is one of the oldest and most used polishes in my collection!)

"Sunkissed" is a bright orange nail polish which I usually wear in the Summer.  Formula wise this polish is a bit thick now but that's due to age and it is still easy to apply.  After two coats the polish, "Sunkissed" was entirely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for four days before there were noticeable tip chips.

Overall I am really happy with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Sunkissed."  I love the fun bright color and will continue to wear it every Summer until the polish dries out or the bottle is empty.

Orly Color Blast "Ice-olated"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  Sorry for the delay in posting - I am out of town and my laptop was struggling with the wifi.  But without further ado, today's nail polish is Orly Color Blast's "Ice-olated" which is part of their Frozen collection.

"Ice-olated" is a pretty icy mint colored polish.  Formula wise, "Ice-olated" was the tiniest bit watery but by wiping the brush on the bottle neck it applied well.  After two coats the nail polish was not opaque and did have a fair amount of streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Ice-olated" for two days before it began to flake off.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Orly Color Blast's "Ice-olated."  I do like the color but I wish the polish had been more opaque on my nails.  That being said I may wear this nail polish again but I might try three coats to see if that makes the polish more opaque.

L. A. Colors "L. A. Blue"

Hello all and happy happy Wednesday!  Today's nail polish is L. A. Color's "L. A. Blue."  I got this nail polish was a gift from my Grandma two Christmases back in a set that looks like this:

"L. A. Blue" is a gorgeous aquamarine colored polish.  The formula of "L. A. Blue" was surprisingly good considering it's a drugstore brand.  After two coats, the nail polish was entirely opaque with no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "L. A. Blue" for four days before it began to chip off.

Overall I really like L. A. Colors "L. A. Blue."  The color is gorgeous and the formula is nice!  I definitely plan on wearing this polish a lot more often!

OPI "Show Us Your Tips"

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Show Us Your Tips" which is part of the New Orleans Collection.  The mini set looks like this:

"Show Us Your Tips" is a lovely periwinkle colored polish with a silver shimmer.  The formula of this polish was okay but slightly on the watery side.  After two coats, "Show Us Your Tips" was not completely opaque but there were no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Show Us Your Tips" for four days before there were some noticeable chips.

Overall I like OPI's "Show Us Your Tips."  The color is really pretty for Spring and I plan on wearing this nail polish more often!  I also adore the shimmer in the polish!

Essie "Viva Antigua!"

Hello all and happy Saturday!  The sun is shining (though it is cold) and I going to pretend Spring has finally started to arrive.  Who else is ready for Summer?  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Essie's "Viva Antiqua!"

"Viva Antiqua!" is an absolutely gorgeous turquoise polish with a golden shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was great and extremely easy to apply.  After two coats, "Viva Antiqua!" was opaque with no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Viva Antiqua!" for a full week before I noticed any tip chips.

Overall I am thrilled with Essie's "Viva Antiqua!"  I love the color and the formula of this polish and I plan on wearing this polish until the bottle runs out.  It is going to make a great Summertime nail polish!

Ciaté "Comic Strip"

Hi everyone and happy Thursday!  (Who else is ready for the weekend?!)  Today's nail polish is Ciaté "Comic Strip" which I purchased as a mini-bottle at Sephora a few years back.

"Comic Strip" is a multi-colored glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was fair though it took some effort to spread the glitter out and get it to stick to the nail.  Since "Coming Strip" is in a clear base I decided to test it out over a few opaque polishes.

The first polish I tested out with "Comic Strip" was Trend It Up's "100" a lovely periwinkle.  This combination was super cute and adorable!

The second nail polish I decided to try with "Comic Strip" was Orly's "Plum Noir."  This combo was different to say the least.  The glitter popped really well but the glitter and the purple kind of clashed.

If you want to know more about Trend It Up "100" or Orly's "Plum Noir" check out my posts from earlier this year!  Or if you want to see how "Comic Strip" compares to other rainbow glitters check out my post from last year!

Overall Ciaté's "Comic Strip" was fair though not the prettiest or easiest glitter I have in my collection.  I would probably be willing to give this polish another go but I'm not dying to wear it again.
