Essie "Style Hunter"

Hey everyone and happy Sunday!  I can't believe 2018 is nearly done!  The final nail polish of 2018 is Essie's "Style Hunter" which was part of a 2014 mini set called Hide and Go Chic.  The set looks like this:

"Style Hunter" is a gorgeous bright red creme.  Formula wise this nail polish was absolutely perfect and applied with ease.  After only one coat, "Style Hunter" was entirely opaque and streak free.  However I applied a second coat for the photos and to test the wear time.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Style Hunter" for five full days before there were a few wear and tear marks on the tips.

Overall I am really pleased with Essie's "Style Hunter."  Everything about this nail polish is absolutely lovely and I can't wait to wear it again soon!

Candie's "Over The Rainbow"

Hello everyone and happy happy Friday!  (Who else is ready for a long weekend and to ring in 2019?)  Today's nail polish is Candie's "Over The Rainbow" which is a brand sold exclusively at Kohl's stores.

"Over The Rainbow" is a polish of rainbow chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was pretty good and spread the glitter evenly.  However it was not made to be opaque so I decided to try it out with some colored polishes!

The first polish I tried out with "Over The Rainbow" was Nicole by OPI's "Why Yellow There..." which created a cute look that oddly reminded me of Belle's dress in Beauty and the Beast.

The second nail polish I tested out with "Over The Rainbow" was Essie's "Taj-Ma-Haul."  I liked this combo a lot and would rock this look again!

If you want to know more about Nicole by OPI's "Why Yellow There..." or Essie's "Taj-Ma-Haul" be sure to check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall Candie's "Over The Rainbow" was okay and looked cuter on my nails.  However with my job I can't really get away with wearing glitter nails at work so I probably won't keep this nail polish around for the long haul.

Sephora by OPI's "And A Cherry On Top"

Hello all and happy Wednesday!  It was back to work for me today after Christmas.  Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "And A Cherry On Top" which came as part of a set.  The set looks like this:

(Please excuse the old watermark.)

"And A Cherry On Top" is unsurprisingly a bright red nail polish.  The formula of "And A Cherry On Top" was lovely and applied really well.  After two coats the nail polish was completely opaque with no streak marks.  As for chipping I was able to wear "And A Cherry On Top" for five full days before there were a few minor tip chips.

Overall I am really happy with Sephora by OPI's "And A Cherry On Top."  I love this bright red color and it is great for all year and I will be wearing it a lot more often!

Nail Art: Snowflakes

Hello all and Happy Christmas!  It is sunny where I live but my nails are pretending it is a white Christmas!  Today's nail polish is actual some fun wintery nail art featuring snowflakes!

First off I needed to choose the nail polishes:

OPI's "Tile Art To Warm Your Heart", Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Disco Ball" and Bundle Monster Colors "Bam! White."

For the base coat I choose OPI's Tile Art To Warm Your Heart" which is this gorgeous electric blue:

Next I applied a fun coat of shimmer glitter using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Disco Ball."  This created such a pretty look:

Then to create the snowflakes I used Maniology's (formerly Bundle Monster) stamping plate BM-S216 which looks like this:

To stamp the design I used Bundle Monster Colors "Bam! White."  After stamping on the snowflakes I added a few white dots and the look was complete!  It turned out like this:

If you want to know more about OPI's "Tile Art To Warm Your Heart", Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Disco Ball" or Maniology's "Bam! White" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am really pleased with how this wintery design turned out!  However I'd like to keep the snowflakes on my hand and not outside on the roads of North Carolina where not one us us knows how to drive int it!

Pacifica "Sea Monster"

Hello guys and happy Christmas Eve!  What better way to celebrate than with green nails!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Pacifica's "Sea Monster."  Pacifica is a 7-free vegan nail polish that I picked up at ULTA.

"Sea Monster" is a really bright green polish with some silver shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was good and applied really well.  After two coats, "Sea Monster" was fully opaque with a few streak marks on the middle finger, which I am not sure what went wrong there.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Sea Monster" for four days before I got a few tip chips.

Overall I like Pacifica's "Sea Monster."  The color is gorgeous and the formula perfect and I cannot wait to wear this polish again soon!  Also it is nice that it is cruelty free!

Dupes: Julep "Nellie" and butterLONDON "Queen Vic"

Hello guys and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is actual a comparison of Julep's "Nellie" and butterLONDON's "Queen Vic."  Will they be dupes or just similar - you decide!  Here's how they stacked up next to each other in the bottles:

As you can see they looked pretty similar in the bottle.  Next I applied two coats of each polish to my nails.  Julep's "Nellie" is on my middle and pinky fingers while butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" is on my pointer and ring fingers.  Both had a nice formula and applied well.  However once on the nail it became clear that they are not dupes and just similar.  butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" a darker berry color while Julep's "Nellie" was more of a true fuchsia.

If you want to know more about Julep's "Nellie" or butterLONDON's "Queen Vic" check out my previous posts!

Overall these two nail polishes are both gorgeous and perfect for the Autumn/Winter seasons however they are not true dupes.  I plan to keep both in my collection as they are so pretty and look great with my skin tone!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Retro Grade"

Hey everyone and happy Thursday!  Who else is getting excited for Christmas and New Year's?  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Retro Grade."

"Retro Grade" is a really nice darkish grey color.  Formula wise this nail polish was amazing and it applied so well!  After a single coat, "Retro Grade" was fully opaque with no visible streak marks.  However I did apply a second coat for the photo.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Retro Grade" for five to six days before I noticed any wear and tear.

Overall I am really happy with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Retro grade."  Everything about this nail polish is really lovely and I cannot wait to wear it again and again as well as trying in some future nail art designs!

China Glaze "Splish Splash"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  (Only a week left until Christmas!)  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Splish Splash" which I had to have because of Bobby Darin's song of the same name.  (Thanks dance classes for always playing a variety of songs!)

"Splish Splash" is a gorgeous neon blue creme.  Formula wise "Splish Splash" was the tiniest bit watery but it dried quickly on the nail and led to some interesting streaks.  The application was very uneven despite my best efforts.  After two coats the nail polish was fairly opaque but not entirely due to the uneven application.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Splish Splash" for three to four days before it began to chip off in chunks.  The upside was "Splish Splash" did not stain my nails at all!

The best surprise with "Splish Splash" was it dried with a matte finish.  Here's how it looked before the shiny top coat:

Overall I have very mixed feelings on China Glaze's "Splash Splash."  The color is gorgeous and very unique in my collection however the odd application and streak marks were sad.  For now "Splish Splash" will remain in my collection but I'm not sure how much wear time it'll actually get.

Nails INC "Fitzroy Square"

Hello guys and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Nails INC's "Fitzroy Square" which is one of the few Nails INC polishes I didn't buy in a set!

"Fitzroy Square" is a really pretty royal blue chunky glitter.  The formula of "Fitzroy Square" was amazing!  It applied so well and was actually opaque and streak free after two coats.  (A real glitter miracle!)  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before there was some tip wear.  However I also wanted to see if this glitter could be worn as a top coat.

The nail polish I decided to try out with "Fitzroy Square" was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Plum Power."  This combination was not the prettiest and you can clearly tell "Fitzroy Square" works best worn alone.

If you want to know more about Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Plum Power" check out my post form earlier this year!

Overall I really love Nails INC's "Fitzroy Square."  Absolutely everything about this nail polish is perfect and it looked amazing on my nails!  I cannot wait to wear this polish again and again!  I especially think it'll look great next Summer!

Essie "All Daisy Long"

Hello everyone and happy happy Saturday!  This has been a very long week and I have never been happier for a relaxing and peaceful Saturday spent lounging about!  Today's nail polish is Essie's "All Daisy Long."

"All Daisy Long" is an absolutely gorgeous iridescent white shimmer!  The formula of this polish was very good and applied well.  After two coats "All Daisy Long" was not filly opaque and did have a few noticeable streak marks.  I opted to apply a third coat which helped immensely.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "All Daisy Long" for six days before I noticed a couple small chips.

Overall I am really pleased with Essie's "All Daisy Long."

Essie "Taj-Ma-Haul"

Hello guys and welcome to the weekend!  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Taj-Ma-Haul" which was part of a mini set for the Spring 2016 Resort Collection.  The set looks like this:

"Taj-Ma-Haul" is a lovely light pumpkin-y orange colored polish.  The formula of "Taj-Ma-Haul" was nice and applied with ease.  After two coats, the polish was entirely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Taj-Ma-Haul" for five days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Essie's "Taj-Ma-Haul."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I plan on wearing it again and again!  It is also a color I don't have a lot of in my collection which means I'll be keeping it around for a while.
