Feather Nail Art

Hey guys and welcome to the weekend!  Today instead of nail polish I decided to practice my stamping skills and create some feather nails!  First I needed to pick out the nail polish:

Disney for Target "White," Bundle Monster Color "Straight Up Black," OPI "Hopelessly Devoted To OPI," Sinful Colors "Treasure Chest," Illimite "La Femme Fleur" and Zoya "Aster."

After selecting my polishes I painted my nails with two coats of Disney for Target's "White" and put on Live Love Polish's Precision Peel Cuticle protector.  My nails then looked like this:

Next up was to select the stamping plate!  I picked out Maniology's MXM002 which features several different feathers.  Here's how the plate looks:

I decided to stamp with Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black" and then reverse stamp with the colored polishes to create the final look.  I dab the colorful nail polish on to the stamp I used some basic dotting tools from Amazon.  In the end my ails looked adorable and I think I was pretty successful at reverse stamping this time!

If you want to know more about Disney for Target's "White"Sinful Colors "Treasure Chest" or Illimite's "La Femme Fleur" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am really pleased with this attempt to reverse stamp and create some colorful feathers!  I can't wait to try this technique again and hope to keep improving with each design.

Pahlish "Gryffindor"

Hello guys and happy Thursday!  Today's nail polish is Pahlish's "Gryffindor" from their Harry Potter Collection.  Here's how gorgeous this shimmer Burgundy beauty is:

"Gryffindor" (for those of you who aren't Harry Potter fans) is one of the school houses - the one Harry Potter is in.  Their house colors are maroon and gold - which means this Burgundy/maroon polish with golden flecks hits the mark.  The formula of "Gryffindor" was amazing and applied so nicely and was nearly opaque after a single coat.  I did add a second coat to finish the look out and test the wear time.  In terms of chipping, "Gryffindor" lasted for ages - a full week!  Here's how stunning this polish is up close:

Overall I am as impressed as always with Pahlish's "Gryffindor."  Despite being a Slytherin at heart this nail polish brings endless joy to me and I must buy more nail polish from this wonderful indie brand!!

"Seashell" and "Starfish"

The first stamping plate is MXM007 which has a gorgeous underwater scene with a mermaid:

The second stamping plate is MXM008which features underwater creatures, seashells and ocean waves:

This month's surprise item is a Premium Nail Brush which can be used for powders, flakies or to help clean up the nail beds.  It is utterly gorgeous:

Overall I adore this month's theme!  Mermaids and galaxy nails are literally two of my favorite things!  I cannot wait to try all these beautiful items out and I am looking forward to next month's box also!

Memorial Day Camo Nails

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  Today in the United States it is Memorial Day - which is when we remember those brave men and women who gave their lives to keep us safe and free.  So in honor of those braves men and women I decided to do camo nails.  First I needed to select my nail polishes:

Sinful Colors "Cash Out", China Glaze "Mind The Gap" and "Cast A Spell" and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Thyme Is Money."

After selecting my four green nail polishes I painted my nails with Sinful Colors "Cash Out."  My nails then looked like this:

Next I used some dotting tools from Amazon to slowly add blobs of different shades of green until I was satisfied with the look.  It was very simple and easy to do.  Look how gorgeous the design looked up close:

If you want to know more about Sinful Colors "Cash Out"China Glaze's "Mind The Gap"China Glaze's "Cast A Spell" or Sally Hansen Insti-Dri's "Thyme Is Money" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am thrilled with how my camo nails turned out in honor of Memorial Day.  Even though I usually don't wear camo print it was such a pretty look that I would wear it again!

OPI "How Great Is Your Dane?"

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "How Great Is Your Dane?" from their Fall 2014 Nordic Collection.  Here's how this pretty creme looks in the bottle:

"How Great is Your Dane?" is a lovely chocolate brown creme.  The formula of this nail polish was wonderful and applied with ease to my nails.  After two coats, "How Great Is Your Dane?" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for six full days before I noticed a couple minor chips.  Here's how gorgeous it is up close:

Overall I am thrilled with OPI's "How Great Is Your Dane?"  I wear this polish more regularly in the Winter because it is low key and goes with a lot.  I have no plans to stop wearing this color until the bottle runs out!

Sinful Colors "Cash Out"

Hello all and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Cash Out" which reminds of the Cash Me Outside" girl.  (Who else loves all the memes?)  Here's how this pastel looks in the bottle:

"Cash Out" is a really pretty pastel lime green creme.  The formula of this nail polish is slightly thick but with short quick brush strokes it applied relatively nicely.  After two coats "Cash Out" was pretty much opaque with a patchy spot here or there.  In terms of chipping I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began to flake off.  Here's how "Cash Out" looked up close:

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sinful Colors "Cash Out."  I really love the color but I do wish the formula had been a bit better.  That being said I can't complain too much since Sinful Colors retails for around $2.00 USD.

Illimité "La Femme Fleur"

Hi all and happy Thursday!  Today's nail polish is Illimité's "La Femme Fleur" which is a brand sold on Live Love Polish's website.  "La Femme Fleur" is from their Picasso Collection.  Here's how "La Femme Fleur" looks in the bottle:

"La Femme Fleur" is a unique yellow/pink holo with some glitter thrown in for fun.  The formula of this nail polish is pretty good - leaning the tiniest bit to the thick side but it didn't slow the application.  After two coats of polish, "La Femme Fleur" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "La Femme Fleur" for five days before I saw some tip chips.  See the gorgeousness up close:

Overall I am very pleased with Illimité's "La Femme Fleur."  The color is gorgeous yet unique in my collection - making it irresistible to me.  I cannot wait to keep rocking this lovely beauty.

Geometric Stamped Nails

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!  Instead of a swatch today's post is actually some nail art!  I decided to do a stamped geometric design.  The first thing I did was select my nail polishes:

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Breezy Blue", Live Love Polish "Last Call Confetti" and Maniology "Shibori."

After settling on my colors I used three coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Breezy Blue."  My nails looked like this:

The second step for this design was to apply a coat of Live Love Polish's "Last Call Confetti" to create some shimmer.  It looked so nice:

After that it was time to pick out the stamping plate.  I selected Maniology's plate M002 which features a variety of geometric designs.  The plate looks like this:

To stamp the design I used Maniology's "Shibori" which is a lovely navy blue.  The completed look turned out nicely:

If you want to know more about Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Breezy Blue" check out my previous post.

Overall I kind of like how these nails turned out though I still can't seem to get the clean crisp edges - even after touch ups.  That being said I do think I am improving on stamped designs.

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Melon"

Hey all and happy Tuesday!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Melon."  Insta-Dri nail polish is meant to dry very quickly without a top coat - though I always use a top coat.  Here's how "Melon" looks in the bottle:

"Melon" is a really pretty pastel coral color.  It reminds me of cantaloupe and is a really lovely Summer color!  The formula this nail polish was slightly watery but applied well enough and after two coats "Melon" was completely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Melon" for three days before I had a couple of small chips.  Here's an up close shot of this pretty pastel:

Overall Sally Hansen Insta-Dri's "Melon" did not disappoint.  I wish the formula was slightly less watery but with the gorgeous color I'll definitely be keeping this nail polish in my collection for a while to come!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Breezy Blue"

Hey all and happy Monday!  Summer is in full swing and to celebrate the clear blue skies and puffy white clouds I pulled out a sky blue!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Breezy Blue."  Here's how it looks in the bottle:

"Breezy Blue" is a lovely pastel baby blue with a golden shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was good but leaned on the watery side.  After two coats "Breezy Blue" was streak free but not fully opaque.  So I applied a third coat, which helped immensely.  In terms go chipping, I was able to wear "Breezy Blue" for four days before I noticed a couple chips.  Here's how it looked up close:

Overall I am pleased with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Breezy Blue."  This nail polish is lovely and the color is great for Summertime!  I can't wait to rock this nail polish again soon!

Sponge and Stamp: Flowers

Hi all and happy Sunday!  Today's nail art is my attempt to stamp over a sponged design with flowers so we'll see how it turns out.  (Please forgive my terrible sponge "technique."). Here are the nail polishes I picked to create the design with:

OPI "Lima Tell You About This Color!", Bundle Monster Colors "Straight Up Black" and OPI "Samurai Breaks A Nail."

After applying cuticle protector I used a basic sponge to dab this design on using OPI's "Lima Tell You About This Color!" and OPI's "Samurai Breaks A Nail."  Here's how my nails looked after the sponged design:

Next I used Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black" to stamp on the design.  I used Maniology's plateMXM005, which looks like this:

The final look turned out pretty well, I think, for my first attempt at stamping over a sponge.  Look how pretty the flowers look up close:

Overall I am pretty happy with how this design turned out - though my touch up skills still leave a lot to be desired.  However I do think this is the best stamping I have had thus far.

Maniology Mini Stamper

Hello all and happy Sunday!  So I have been learning to stamp for a while and one of the items I received in my Mani x Me box by Maniology was a mini stamper.  I couldn't wait to test this stamper out as my previous one struggled to pick up designs.  This mini stamper made my day because on my first attempt it picked up the entire design with glorious ease:

Overall I am ecstatic to have this stamper in my collection and pan on grabbing a few more off of Maniology's website.  I can't wait to try this stamper out again and again!

Pacifica "Tourmaline"

Hi everyone and happy happy Saturday!  It is rainy today so I pulled out a glittery purple/blue shimmer.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Pacifica's "Tourmaline."  Look at this pretty polish:

"Tourmaline" is a stunning purple and blue shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was slightly watery but it didn't affect the application.  After two coats, "Tourmaline" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Tourmaline" for six full days before I noticed any tip chips.  Look at this stunning shimmer up close (it is like the night sky!):

Overall I am thrilled with Pacifica's "Tourmaline."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and on top of all of it - this brand of nail polish is vegan!  I can't wait to wear "Tourmaline" again and also purchase some more gorgeous colors by this brand!

OPI "Ecstatic Prismatic"

Hey everyone and happy happy Friday!  Who else is excited for the weekend?  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Ecstatic Prismatic."  Look how gorgeous this shimmery glitter is in the bottle:

"Ecstatic Prismatic" is a beautiful blue-green shimmer with glitter mixed in.  The formula of this polish was great and applied nicely.  After two coats, "Ecstatic Prismatic" was not quite opaque so I added a third coat.  The third coat helped but still didn't make it quite opaque - but you have to look very closely in Rea life to notice.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Ecstatic Prismatic" for three days before it began to chip.

Overall I am really pleased with OPI's "Ecstatic Prismatic."  Everything about this nail polish is great the only thing I wish was different was for it to be more opaque.  Otherwise I am thrilled with this polish and plan on wearing it again and again!
