China Glaze "Shine-nanigans"

Hi everyone and happy Sunday!  It has been a hectic week for me since I have an injured knee.  So while I'm resting in bed I decided to pull out some glitter to brighten my day!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Shine-nanigans."  Look how pretty it is in the bottle:

"Shine-nanigans" has a hilarious name but it is literally a pastel rainbow chunky glitter in a clear coat - it makes me so happy to look at!  The formula of this polish is watery, like many glitters, but I found that dabbing the brush on to my nail released enough glitter to then be spread evenly in a nice coat.  Since this is a glitter in a clear base coat I decided to test is out over a few colorful polishes!

The first nail polish I tested with "Shine-nanigans" was Essie's "Off Tropic."  I actually didn't care for this combination that much because the dark green hid some of the darker colored glitter.

The second polish I tried out with "Shine-nanigans" was Sephora by OPI's "Break A Leg Warmer."  This combo really made the colorful glitter pop and was a real winner!  Also look ash this gorgeous glitter up close:

If you want to know more about Essie's "Off Tropic" or Sephora by OPI's "Break A Leg Warmer" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am really really happy with China Glaze's "Shine-nanigans."  Everything about this nail polish makes me smile and brings me joy - so it will definitely be sticking around in my collection for a long while to come!  (Probably until the bottle runs dry!)

Sinful Colors "Super Nova"

Hello all and happy Sunday!  Where did this weekend get to?  Let's pretend the real world of wok isn't calling me tomorrow with today's nail polish: Sinful Colors "Super Nova."  Here's how this pretty looks in the bottle:

"Super Nova" is a gorgeous pewter shimmer!  The formula was amazing and it applied fantastically.  After only a single coat "Super Nova" was completely opaque and streak free.  That being said I always apply a second coat to test out wear time.  I was able to wear this nail polish for five full days before there were a couple of minor tip chips.  Look at this beauty up close:

Overall I am thrilled with Sinful Colors "Super Nova."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and Sinful Colors is such an affordable brand which is an added bonus!  I plan to keep "Super Nova" in my collection for a long while to come.

Sephora by OPI "Break A Leg Warmer"

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "Break A Leg Warmer" which came as part of a limited edition set sold by QVC.  (QVC is an American TV channel that sells some of everything.)  The set looked like this:

Sephora by OPI is a retired brand that used to be sold at Sephora stores.  It was retired several years ago in favor of other in-house Sephora brands.  Here's how "Break A Leg Warmer" looks in the bottle:

"Break A Leg Warmer" is a nice light grey creme that looks good all year round!  The formula of this nail polish was great and applied with ease.  After two coats the polish was fully opaque and streak free.  In fact I probably could have gotten away with only one coat of "Break A Leg Warmer."  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Break A Leg Warmer" for five full days before I noticed any chips.  Look at how pretty this grey is up close:

Overall I am really pleased by Sephora by OPI's "Break A Leg Warmer."  This color grey is so lovely and really goes with every outfit I have and can be worn all year long!  I plan to keep this bad boy around for a long time.

Great Lakes Lacquer "Fox Fire"

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!  Today's nail polish is Great Lakes Lacquer's "Fox Fire."  Great Lakes Lacquer is a fun indie brand that I have been wanting to try for a while so I was thrilled when I snagged this beauty from a Polish Pick-Up.  See how gorgeous is in the bottle:

"Fox Fire" is a stunner - a dark purple shimmer with holo flakies!  (I can barely take my eyes off of it!)  The formula of this nail polish was lovely and it applied nicely to my nails.  After three thin coats, "Fox Fire" was completely opaque and streak free!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Fox Fire" for six days before there were a couple of small chips visible.  Look at the holo up close:

Overall I am thrilled with Great Lakes Lacquer's "Fox Fire."  I adore this nail polish and I cannot wait to purchase more from this great indie brand!  (Who else is enjoying buying indie brands instead of just large corporate brands?)

China Glaze "Lukewarm Wishes"

Hey all and happy Tuesday!  This has already been the longest week on record, so to try and brighten it up the week I went for a glitter!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Lukewarm Wishes" from their holiday collection.  Look at this shimmery beauty in the bottle:

"Lukewarm Wishes" is a stunning iridescent shimmer in a clear base.  However there is so much iridescent shimmer that you almost can't see the clear base!  The formula of this polish is slightly thick but it applies like a charm to my nails!  As with a lot of shimmers in clear base coats it is made to be worn on top of opaque polishes - so I decided to test it out!

The first nail polish I tested out with "Lukewarm Wishes" was Ciate's "Pom Pom."  This made a very festive look that could be worn for Christmas or the 4th of July.  I really liked this look!

The second polish I tried out with "Lukewarm Wishes" was Color Club's "Ahoy Matey."  This combo was happy and cheerful!  Look at the iridescent shimmer up close:

If you want to know more about Ciate's "Pom Pom" check out my previous post!

Overall I am thrilled with China Glaze's "Lukewarm Wishes."  Everything about this polish is lovely and it brings a smile to my face!  I cannot wait to wear this shimmery joy again and again!

Fair Maiden Polish "Viral"

Hello guys and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Fair Maiden Polish's "Viral" which I purchased earlier this year during a Polish Pick-Up.  Fair Maiden Polish is an indie brand - which I lover because I absolutely adore buying from non-corporate brands!  Look at this beauty in the bottle:

"Viral" is a bright cerulean blue with iridescent flakies!  (Holy moly it is gorgeous!!)  The formula of this nail polish was amazing and it applied with ease.  After two coats, "Viral" was entirely opaque and streak free - and it looked fabulous on my nails!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Viral" for six full days before I noticed any chips.  Look at this stunner up close:

Overall I am in love with Fair Maiden Polish's "Viral."  Absolutely everything about this nail polish is fantastic and it has become an instant favorite of mine!  I can't wait to wear this nail polish again and again and again!

Dupes: Ciaté "Espadrilles" vs. Covergirl "Inferno"

Hi all and happy Saturday!  (Who else is enjoying a nice relaxing weekend?)  Today's nail polish is actually a comparison of Ciaté's "Espadrilles" and Covergirl's "Inferno."  The look so alike in the bottle that I knew I needed to compare them.  Here's how they look in the bottle:

Covergirl "Inferno" and Ciaté "Espadrilles."

In the bottle both nail polishes look nearly identical so I was curious how they looked on my nails.  After two coats both were opaque but Ciaté's "Espadrilles" was slightly more watery.  And just like the bottles I could not distinguish "Inferno and "Espadrilles" from each other.  In the macro below Ciaté's "Espadrilles" is on the left and Covergirl's "Inferno" is on the right:

Overall these two nail polishes are both stunning and gorgeous and are true dupes for each other.  I probably don't need both in my collection and given the choice I would pick Covergirl's "Inferno" just because the formula is slightly better.

If you want to know more about Ciate's "Espadrilles" or Covergirl's "Inferno" check out my previous posts.

Mani x Me Box - July 2019

Hi everyone and happy Thursday!  Today's nail polish is actually Maniology's Mani x Me Box for July 2019.  This is a subscription box that comes monthly and includes two stamping polishes, two stamping plates, a surprise nail item and some candy!  July's theme was bugs.  (I'm late posting sorry!)

This month's polishes are "Wild Wing" a gorgeous magenta shimmer and "Chrysalis" a pastel lime green.  Here are this month's nail polishes in the bottle:

"Wild Wings" and "Chrysalis."

The first plate in this month's box was MXM011 which features geometric bug designs.  Look how pretty it is:

The second plate was MXM012 which has everything butterfly related!  (I love butterflies so this plate will be getting a ton of use!)  Look at it:

The extra item in this month's Mani x Me box is duo chrome powder in the color "Scarab Wings."  I have never tried duo chrome powder and I cannot wait to give this beauty a go!  I mean look at it:

Overall this month's Mani x Me Box was another huge success!  I have been enjoying these since they started the subscription late last year and so far I have gotten great items and tried out lots of new nail art!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Marine Scene"

Hi all and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Marine Scene" which I have had in my collection for ages.  Here's how "Marine Scene" looks in the bottle:

"Marine Scene" is a pretty turquoise blue with a yellow and green shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was wonderful as it always has been.  After two coats "Marine Scene" was not quite opaque but it was streak free.  I applied a third coat of polish and then my nails looked stellar!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Marine Scene" for three days before I began to notice chips.  Look at the shimmer:

Overall I am still huge fan of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Marine Scene."  Everything about this polish is wonderful and I continue to wear it often - especially in the Summertime when the weather is nice.

Live Love Polish "Supernova"

Hey everyone and happy Saturday!  The sun was shining and I spent the day at a mermaid themed birthday party - which means it was time to break out the glitter!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Live Love Polish's "Supernova." Here's how this lovely glitter looks in the bottle:

"Supernova" is a chunky gold and silver glitter with blue stars wrapped in a clear base coat.  The formula of this nail polish is slightly watery but applied fairly well to my nails.  Since "Supernova" is in a clear base coat I couldn't resist trying it out over some creme polishes.

The first nail polish I tried with "Supernova" was Illimité's "Pale Fire."  This combination turned out so nicely and the pastel made the glitter pop.

The second color I tried with "Supernova" was Sephora Formula X's "Perfection."  This combination was subtle and was my favorite one that I tried out.

The third polish I tried with "Supernova" was Sinful Colors "Spaced Out."  This combo was very similar to the first but with less of a contrast - it was still pretty though.  Look at this gorgeous glitter up close:

If you want to know more about Illimite "Pale Fire", Sephora Formula X "Perfection" or Sinful Colors "Spaced Out" check out some of my previous posts.

Overall I really like Live Love Polish's "Supernova."  The blue star shaped glitter is a lot of fun and was super fun to wear!  I plan on keeping this polish in my collection for a long while to come and can't wait to try it out with other opaque polishes!

Sinful Colors "Savage"

Hello guys and happy Friday!  Who else is glad it is the weekend?  Today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Savage" which has been in my collection for quite some time now.  Here's how this polish looks in the bottle:

"Savage" is a teal blue creme that has a surprising matte finish.  The formula of this nail polish was okay but I struggled to apply it to my nails.  After two coats, "Savage" was not really opaque and some nails had odd streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Savage" for about two or three days before it chipped.  The main downside of this polish was that it stains my nails terribly!  But the color is nice - look at it up close:

Overall I have truly mixed feelings of Sinful Colors "Savage."  The color is lovely but the major staining it caused my nails is why I've decided to retire this bottle from my collection.  That being said it is a drugstore brand and was very inexpensive so I don't feel bad about not keeping this nail polish.
