China Glaze "Whip It Good"

Hi everyone and happy happy Fri-YAY!  I can't believe that June is nearly over!  How can we be halfway through 2017 all ready?!?  So to finish out the first half of the year today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Whip It Good."

"Whip It Good" is a bright, neon, lime yellow colored polish.  The formula of this nail polish was unique as it appeared watery but applied kind of thick.  This polish did go on fairly well though when applied with patience.  After two coats of polish, "Whip It Good" was completely opaque but there were a few noticeable streaks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Whip It Good" for three days before it began to chip off.

Overall I have mixed feelings about China Glaze's "Whit It Good."  I absolutely love the bright Summery color of this polish but its odd formula and the streak marks were a bit disappointing.  That being said, I am willing to wear this nail polish again and maybe next time I'll try a white base coat and see if that helps the streak marks.

Ciaté "Double Bubblegum"

Hello guys and happy Wednesday!  I am already counting down to the long holiday weekend! Today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Double Bubblegum."  This polish is part of Ciaté's 2015 Annual Advent Calendar set, which looks like this:

"Double Bubblegum" is a lovely pastel purple colored polish.  Formula wise, this nail polish was perfect and applied very easily on to my nails.  After two coats of polish, "Double Bubblegum" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Double Bubblegum" for five days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I am extremely happy with Ciaté's "Double Bubblegum."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and I plan on wearing it a lot more often!

Orly "Watch It Glitter"

Hello everyone!  We've all survived Monday (hopefully!)  So to brighten a long Monday, today's nail polish is is a gorgeous glitter by Orly called "Watch It Glitter."

"Watch It Glitter" is a chunky gold glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was so-so, the clear base was watery but the glitter spread decently well.  Like many glitter polishes, "Watch It Glitter" isn't meant to be worn along, so I decided to test it out with a few opaque polishes.

The first polish I decided to test out with "Watch It Glitter" was Essence's "The Green And The Grunge."  This combination turned out very nice and would be perfect for Christmastime.

The second polish I decided to try out with "Watch It Glitter" was OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants."  This combination was gorgeous and shimmered nicely in the light.  I would definitely wear this look again!

If you want to know more about Essence's "The Green And The Grunge" or  OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I am very pleased with Orly's "Watch It Glitter."  Often times glitters in a clear base are difficult to apply, but "Watch It Glitter" was very easy to apply and spread easily on my nails.  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again and a again.

Julep "Bess"

Hi guys and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Julep's "Bess."  This nail polish came as part of a duo set called Tarheel March Madness, which was made for the basketball tournament. (The annual March Madness basketball tournament is over 60 university's competing to see who has the best team.  This year the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill Tarheels won, which means we have bragging rights until next year's tourney!)

"Bess" is a gorgeous sky blue, or as we call it in North Carolina, Carolina blue.  Formula wise this polish was watery but I found that as long as I wiped the excess polish off the brush then it was easy enough to apply.  After two coats, "Bess" was completely opaque and streak free, which was fantastic!  In terms of chipping, this polish was four days before there were a couple of chip marks.

Overall I like Julep's "Bess."  The color is gorgeous and it wore on my nails really well.  The only thing I would change about this nail polish is to make the formula slightly less watery.  However overall this polish is nice and I definitely wear it on a regular basis!

If you want to see some UNC Nail Art or learn about the other polish in this duo, Julep's "Bunny" check out my post from previous years.

Bundle Monster Plate BM-XL358: Gem Nails

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!  In my quest to use my Bundle Monster stamping plates (and actually get good at it) I decided to throw in an extra special post!  Today's look uses Bundle Monster's BM-XL358 plate, which looks like this:

Aside from the plate I needed several polishes -including a stamping polish.  The polishes I chose were Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black", China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing" and Wet N' Wild's "Sparked."

The first thing I did was apply two coats of China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing" so my nails looked like this:

Next I applied a glittery coat of Wet N' Wild's "Sparked" on top of China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing."  My nails then looked like this:

Lastly I used Bundle Monster Color's "Poli-Peel" to make clean-up super easy.  Then I applied the design using Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black."  This created a fun shimmery look that I got a lot of compliments on.

If you want to know more about China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing" or Wet N' Wild's "Sparked" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I am very happy with how this nail art look turned out.  It was fun and happy and a great Summertime look!

OPI "Color So Hot It Berns"

Hello guys!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Color So Hot It Berns."  This nail polish came as part of a limited edition Black Friday set sold at ULTA, called The Reds Have It Trio.  The set looks like this:

"Color So Hot It Berns" is a bright candy apple red.  Formula wise this nail polish was fantastic and extremely easy to apply.  After only one coat, "Color So Hot It Berns" was completely opaque and streak free.  However I applied two coats for the picture above, as always.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for seven full days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I am really happy with OPI's "Color So Hot It Berns."  Everything from the color to the formula to the wear time was perfect and I couldn't ask for anything better out of a nail polish.  I will definitely wear this nail polish again and again!

ULTA "Fine Pruned"

Hello all and happy almost first day of Summer!  Today's nail polish is ULTA's "Fine Pruned."  This is an inexpensive brand of nail polish sold by ULTA Beauty stores.

"Fine Pruned" is a purplish brown polish.  The formula of "Fine Pruned" was watery but as long as I wiped the excess polish off the brush I didn't find it to difficult to apply.  After two coats this nail polish was completely opaque  and had no streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Fine Pruned" for four days before there were a couple of chips.

Overall ULTA's "Fine Pruned" is a good polish with its only fault being the watery formula.  However that being said its application is not the worst and I am willing to wear "Fine Pruned" again.

Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer "Work Of Tart"

Hello all and happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer's "Work Of Tart."  This polish s a textured polish similar feeling to sand.

"Work Of Tart" is a lovely dusty turquoise with silver and iridescent shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was good and very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Work Of Tart" was not entirely opaque but it was only noticeable if you looked very closely. In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before there were some noticeable chips.  Since "Work Of Tart" is a textured polish is is meant to be worn without a top coat (like the picture above.)  However I also wanted to see how this polish looked with a shiny finish.  It turned out like this:

Overall I am pleased with Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer's "Work Of Tart."  The color is fun and the formula was great.  I do with this polish had been opaque but I believe a third coat would easily solve that problem.  I will wear this nail polish again soon!

Nails INC "Brighton"

Hi guys and happy, happy Friday!  Today's nail polish is Nails INC's "Brighton" which is a special effects Feather polish.  I wanted this nail polish for so long and it took me a long time to track a bottle down, and I am so glad I did!

"Brighton" is a bar glitter in lime green and turquoise in a clear base.  Formula wise, "Brighton" was very thick but that helped the glitter stick to my nails.  In order to get "Brighton" to be opaque I thought I would have to use the sponge technique but surprisingly it applied in good thick coats.  As for chipping I was only able to wear this polish for about two days because the bar glitter kept grabbing on everything.  But I decided to try "Brighton" out as a top coat on another polish.

I decided to try out "Brighton" with Sephora by OPI's "Read My Palm."  This combination turned out nicely and is perfect for Summertime!

If you want to know more about Sephora by OPI's "Read My Palm" check out my post from earlier this week!

Overall I am very pleased with Nails INC's "Brighton."  This polish is a lot of fun and very unique looking.  I will wear this nail polish again but unfortunately only on weekends of vacations because my work place requires more professional nails.

Sephora by OPI "Read My Palm"

Hello everyone!  We are halfway to the weekend again!  (Hooray!)  Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "Read My Palm."  Sephora by OPI is a now retired brand that OPI used to produce for Sephora stores.

"Read My Palm" is a gorgeous aquamarine colored polish - which my all time favorite color!  Formula wise this nail polish was great and went on easily.  After two coats, "Read My Palm" was entirely opaque and had no streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for six days before there were some small tip chips.

Overall I am really happy with Sephora by OPI's "Read My Palm."  Everything about this polish is great but its color is my all time favorite and I want to wear it all the time!

June Nail Art: Half Moon Mani

Hello everyone!  I can't believe we are halfway through June!  2017 is really flying by and before we know it Christmas will be here again.  Today's nail polish is actually some nail art!  I decided to try out the Half Moon Mani that was so popular a while back.  (And let'snot laugh too hard at my terrible fail!)

To create this simple look I used tow nail polishes: Sinful Colors "YOLO Yellow" and Julep's "Nellie."  They look like this:

Julep's "Nellie" and Sinful Colors "YOLO Yellow"

I started out by painting my nails with Sinful Colors "YOLO Yellow."  Once my nails were dry I place the Avery Reinforcement Labels on my nails, which looked like this:

I them proceeded to paint the area beneath the Reinforcement Label with Julep's "Nellie" to create the final look.  I also applied a coat of Orly "Sec N' Dry" to seal in the look.

Overall all this was a very cute look and it was surprisingly easy to do!  I would definitely be willing to wear this nail art again and try it wit several different color combinations!  And maybe next time it'll turn out better.

OPI "I'm Sooo Swamped!"

Hello all!  The weekend has finally arrived!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "I'm Sooo Swamped!"  This nail polish came as part of a four-piece mini set called New Orleans Collection.  The set looks like this:

"I'm Sooo Swamped!" is a unique green color that looks like the algae found on the top of swamp water.  Formula wise this nail polish was nice and it applied easily on to my nails.  After two coats, "I'm Sooo Swamped!" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for five full days before I noticed a small tip chip here or there.

Overall I am very happy with OPI's "I'm Sooo Swamped!"  Everything about this gorgeous and unique polish is fantastic and I will definitely be wearing this nail polish a lot more often.

Wet N' Wild "Sparked"

Hi all and happy Thursday!  Who else is ready for the weekend?  To help perk me up to make it to the weekend I selected a fun and glittery polish!  Today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Sparked."

"Sparked" is a bright pink chunky glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was fantastic and very easy to apply, which is almost unheard of for a glitter polish!  After two coats, "Sparked" was nowhere near opaque but this polish would be a great candidate for the sponge technique.  Since glitter polishes are often used as a top coat I decided to test it out over an opaque polish.  Here's how it turned out:

The first polish I decided to try "Sparked" with was OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark."  This combination turned out fun and extra sparkly and was by far my favorite combination!

The second polish I tested out with "Sparked" was China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing."  This combination was very pink and would be perfect for a faerie princess.

Overall I really like Wet N' Wild's "Sparked."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I will be wearing it again and again until the bottle is empty!

If you want to know more about OPI's "Lincoln Park After Dark" or China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing" check out my posts from earlier this year!

China Glaze "Dune Our Thing"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  It's been a crazy week at work (25 hours worked in less than 2 day!)  But now the rest of the week is less stressed out.  So to celebrate a calming rest of the week, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing."

"Dune Our Thing" is a pretty deep fuchsia colored polish.  The formula of this nail polish was great and it applied very well.  After only one coat, "Dune Our Thing" was completely opaque and streak free.  However as always I applied two coats for the photo above.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for six days before there were some noticeable tip chips.

Overall I really like China Glaze's "Dune Our Thing."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect!  I plan on wearing this polish again - I think it'll be perfect for Autumn!

Hard Candy "Soda Pop"

Hi all and happy Sunday!  As 4th of July approaches in the United States, I decided to take the time to test out a red, white and blue nail polish.  Today's nail polish is Hard Candy's "Soda Pop"

"Soda Pop" is a very fun red, white and blue glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was decent but I had to work at spreading the glitter out evenly.  As for chipping, this polish wasn't meant to be worn alone so it is hard to say.  Since "Soda Pop" was meant to be worn as a top coat I decided to test it out over some other polishes.  Here's how it turned out:

The first polish I decided to test out with "Soda Pop" was Nicole by OPI's "It's Not Me, It's Blue."  This combination was a bit disappointing and is one I probably wouldn't wear again.

The second polish I decided to test out with "Soda Pop" was Wet N' Wild's "Red Red."  This combination was perfect for the 4th of July and looked great!

If you want to know more about Nicole by OPI's "It's Not Me, It's Blue" or Wet N' Wild's "Red Red" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Overall I have mixed feelings about Hard Candy's "Soda Pop."  The polish is very pretty and looked nice on my nails but it was frustrating trying to spread the glitter out.  However I would be willing to try this polish out using the glitter sponge trick to see how it turned out on my nails!

Nail Matic "Kimi"

Hi everyone and happy June!  Today's nail polish is Nail Matic's "Kimi" which is a French brand of nail polish that I purchased in Paris in the Summer of 2015.  (I can't believe it has been two years since the last time I went to Europe!)

"Kimi" is a stunningly gorgeous aquamarine colored polish, which also happens to be my favorite color of all time!  Formula wise "Kimi" was amazing and its application was flawless.  After two coats, this polish was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Kimi" for four days before there were a few minor tip chips.

Overall I am really pleased by Nail Matic's "Kimi."  Everything from its fantastic color to its easy application makes this nail polish a winner!  I will be wearing this polish a lot more often.

Also here's a fun #tbt (even though it is Friday!) from my trip to Paris:

I took this photo from the top of the L'Arc de Triomphe looking out over the city.
