OPI "Got The Blues For Red"

Hi everyone!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Got The Blues For Red."  I got this nail polish as part of a mini trio set that ULTA had for lack Friday one year.  The set is called The Reds Have It Trio and it looks like this:

"Got The Blues For Red" is a very pretty deep red nail polish.  Formula wise, this nail polish was awesome and very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Got The Blues For Red" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In fact it was so opaque and streak free that it could be worn as a one-coater!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for six full days before there were a few minor chips!

Overall I am very pleased with OPI's "Got The Blues For Red."  Everything about this nail polis is wonderful!  You'll definitely see me wear this polish again soon!

Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer "Cinny Sweet"

Hi guys!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen's Sugar Shimmer's "Cinny Sweet."  Sugar Shimmers are a textured polish that feels like sand paper but with a hint of glitter.  here is how "Cinny Sweet" looked without a top coat:

"Cinny Sweet" is a gorgeous burgundy/wine colored polish.  Formula wise "Cinny Sweet" was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats, this nail polish was completely opaque and streak free.  It's sandy texture makes nice coats that are opaque after only one coat!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Cinny Sweet" for four full days before there were some noticeable chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Sally Hansen Sugar Shimmer's "Cinny Sweet."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I can't wait to wear it again soon!

Noodles Nail Polish "Sea Breeze and Palm Trees"

Hi guys!  Today is a surprise extra post because I got this nail polish off of Etsy and I just couldn't wait to share it with y'all!  Each bottle costs somewhere between $8-$9 (USD) a bottle and it shipped and arrived quickly as well as being well packaged.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Noodles Nail Polish in "Sea Breeze and Palm Trees."

"Sea Breeze and Palm Trees" is a gorgeous glittery nail polish!  It features a base color that is a pretty creamy color white with lots of blue, turquoise, and lime green multi-sized glitter pieces.  Formula wise this polish was the tiniest bit thick, but it worked to the polishes advantage because it made it easier to get the glitter evenly on the nail.  After two coats, "Sea Breeze and Palm Trees" completely opaque and streak free, which is always nice.  As for chipping, I'm still wearing "Sea Breeze and Palm trees" and it is holding up great! (And I am only three days in!)

Overall I am very pleased with Noodles Nail Polish in "Sea Breeze and Palm Trees."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and I will definitely be wearing this nail polish a lot more often.  I'd also like to buy some more Noodles Nail Polish!

Hop over to Etsy here is you are interested in some Noodles Nail Polish!

Nicole by OPI "Great Minds Pink Alike"

Hi everyone!  It's finally Saturday and today is busy as I host one of my best friend's bridal shower! Today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Great Minds Pink Alike" which was a special 2012 limited release for Target.  Ironically I found this polish at TJ Maxx as a duo with another polish.  The set looks like this:

"Great Minds Pink Alike" is a hot pink polish with hot pink shimmer!  Formula wise this nail polish was good, but just the tiniest bit watery.  However it wasn't watery enough to affect applying this polish.  After two coats of polish, "Great Minds Pink Alike" was no where near opaque, and it was particularly noticeable at the tips.  In terms of chipping, I was only able to wear this nail polish for a day and a half before it started to chip off in big chunks.

Overall I am very disappointed by Nicole by OPI's "Great Minds Pink Alike."  The formula was fair but it was upsetting that it chipped so quickly.  The only nice part about this nail polish was its name. I probably won't be wearing this nail polish again any time soon!

China Glaze "Son Of A Peach"

Hi guys!  I don't know about you, but I am so ready for the weekend!  Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Son Of A Peach."

"Son Of A Peach" is a very fun and neon cantaloupe color.  Formula wise this nail polish was a bit thick and it went on very streaky and uneven.  I had to apply three coats of polish for it to not look terribly streaky.  And even then it still wasn't as even as I would have liked.  As for chipping, I was only able to wear "Son Of A Peach" for three days before it started to chip off.

Overall I have mixed feelings about China Glaze's "Son Of A Peach."  The color is so fantastic and I wanted to love it but the bad formula and its streaky look made me sad.  I probably won't wear this nail polish again very soon, but it might work well if I use it with water marbling.

Essie "Salt Water Happy"

Hi all!  It is hard to believe that August is nearly over!  (Where has the year gotten to?!?)  A lot of schools are starting to go back, but that doesn't mean Summer is over quite yet!  There is still a little bit of time left to head to the beach, so today's nail polish is my ode to the end of Summer.  Today's end-of-Summer polish is Essie's "Salt Water Happy."

"Salt Water Happy" is a gorgeous periwinkle nail polish!  Formula wise this polish was unique to say the least.  "Salt Water Happy" kept separating in the bottle and it was causing the polish to be watery.  After two coats of polish, "Salt Water Happy" was completely opaque, but the goopy polish kept smudging while I was trying to paint the rest of my nails.  As for chipping, I am not sure how long "Salt Water Happy" can be worn before it chips because it smudged so badly and refused to dry that I couldn't wear this polish out of the house!

Overall I am very disappointed in Essie's "Salt Water Happy."  I wanted so badly to love this nail polish but I just couldn't.  I do love the name of the polish and its pretty color but everything else after that was terrible.  The formulation of this polish was dismal at best and it was impossible to actually wear, which after all is the entire point of nail polish.  I definitely will not be wearing this nail polish ever again!

OPI "No More Mr. Night Sky"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe another weekend has come and gone.  I hope everyone has enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend!  But without any further ado, today's nail polish is OPI's "No More Mr. Night Sky."

"No More Mr. Night Sky" is a lovely black nail polish packed full of silver shimmer.  Formula wise, this polish was decent,  The polish wasn't too thick or too thin but it was a bit difficult to apply.  After two coats "No More Mr. Night Sky" was completely opaque ad streak free, which is impressive because it looked horrible after the first coat!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "No More Mr. Night Sky" for four days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall OPI's "No More Mr. Night Sky" is a good nail polish, however it was not one of my favorites.  Everything about this polish is nice and I will wear "No More Mr. Night Sky" again even if it isn't one of my top choices.

Orly Color Blast "Price Of Fame"

Hi guys!  Happy Friday!  We've made it to the weekend again! So to celebrate today's nail polish is Orly Color Blast's "Price Of Fame" which I purchased at Kohls (an American discount retail store similar to TJ Maxx).  "Price Of Fame" came in a duo pack that was called the Hollywood Duo Set, which looks like this:

"Price Of Fame" is a sparkly gold and copper glitter nail polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was great and surprisingly easy to apply for a glitter.  Initially I thought that "Price Of Fame" wouldn't be able to be worn on its own because most glitter polish aren't.  However I was pleasantly surprised with "Price Of Fame."  After two coats the polish was not completely opaque but was good enough to cover most of the nail.  (I struggled mostly to cover the tips.)  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Price Of Fame" for two days before it started to flake off my nails.

Overall I really like Orly Color Blast's "Price Of Fame."  The glitter is gorgeous and sparkles nicely on my nails.  And while the polish alone isn't completely opaque I think it covers enough to actually be worn alone!  I will definitely wear this nail polish again soon!

Ciaté "Cha Cha Cha"

Hi guys!  It's Wednesday and we are halfway to the weekend again!  So to help make it to the weekend I picked out Ciaté's "Cha Cha Cha" so we can dance our way to the weekend!  "Cha Cha Cha" came as part of a set that Ciaté's puts out annually for Christmas/Black Friday.  The set is an advent calendar and "Cha Cha Cha" was part of the 2014 set which looks like this:

"Cha Cha Cha" is a bright orange nail polish that reminds me of fresh Florida oranges!  Formula wise this polish was watery and it was not very easy to apply.  I had to put a lot of effort into getting the it to stick to the tips of my nails.  After two coats, "Cha Cha Cha" was no where near opaque, especially on the tips where you could see straight through to my nail.  However there were no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I have no idea how long this nail polish can be worn because it looked so sad on my nails that I refused to wear it out of the house.

Overall I am very disappointed with Ciaté's "Cha Cha Cha."  Aside from it's pretty orange color everything else about this nail polish was awful.  I definitely won't be wearing this nail polish again. (But I am open for some suggestions on good orange colored nail polish!)

A England "Lady Of Shalott"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe it is Monday again!  The work week moves slowly but the weekend just flies by so quickly!  But I do hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend, and maybe watched some of the Olympics.  Anyways, today's nail polish is A England's "Lady Of Shalott" which I picked up in Paris last Summer.

"Lady Of Shalott" is a very pretty deep blue nail polish that almost looks black on the nail.  Formula wise, this nail polish is great and was easy to apply. After two coats, "Lady Of Shalott" was completely opaque and streak free.  In fact it was actually opaque after one coat!  (But I used two for the picture.)  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Lady Of Shalott" for four full days before I noticed any tip chips.

Overall I am quite pleased with A England's "Lady Of Shalott."  Everything about this nail polish was fantastic and I cannot wait to wear it again.  I'd also like to get my hands on a few more colors, guess that means I'll just have to go back to Paris!

August 2016 Dupe Post!

Hi guys!  I realized that it has been quite a while since I had done a dupe/comparison so we're fixing that right now!  Today's comparison is between New York Color's "Skyline Blue" and Sinful Colors "Cinderella."  Both polishes are Carolina blue (sky blue or light blue for non-North Carolina natives!)  Here's how the bottle look net to each other:

As you can see they look nearly identical in the bottles, but that is no guarantee that they'll be identical on the nail!  I applied two coats of both polishes to my nails and as you can see they are similar but not identical.  New York Color's "Skyline Blue" is more opaque and has a less noticeable shimmer while Sinful Colors "Cinderella" has more golden shimmer but is streakier and far less opaque.

If you want to know more about New York Color's "Skyline Blue" and Sinful Colors "Cinderella" be sure to check out my previous posts about them.

Overall New York Color's "Skyline Blue" and Sinful Colors "Cinderella" are not dupes for each other, but they are similar enough that you probably don't need both in your collection.  I don't think one is better than the other but rather it depends on what you want out of the polish.  If you want a more opaque polish the go for New York Color's "Skyline Blue" but if you enjoy a more noticeable shimmer then Sinful Colors "Cinderella" is the polish for you!  In the end I'm likely to wear both of them again!

Sinful Colors "Horizon Shine"

Hi everyone!  It's Thursday and it is the first day this week that the sun has been out!  So to celebrate the sunshine, today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Horizon Shine." Sinful Colors is a great drugstore brand that all sell for less than $3 (USD) a bottle.

"Horizon Shine" is a pretty red-orange jelly.  A jelly is a nail polish that is made to be see-through and you can build the color up by adding more layers.  The formula of "Horizon Shine" was fantastic!  It was so easy to apply and was very build-able.  After two coats the nail polish was surprisingly opaque for a jelly!  (I was very impressed!)  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Horizon Shine" for five full days before there were a few tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Sinful Colors "Horizon Shine."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and I will definitely be wearing "Horizon Shine" again sometime soon!

Julie G "Fairytale"

Hi all!  Happy Tuesday!  Today is an exciting day because my longtime friend just became a mommy today!  So to celebrate, today's nail polish is Julie G's "Fairytale."  Julie G is a drugstore brand that I buy at Rite-Aid and it is very affordable costing around $4 (USD) a bottle.

"Fairytale" is a lovely pastel purple polish that looks just so nice on my nails!  The formula of this nail polish was pretty good and easy enough to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Fairytale" was completely opaque and had only the tiniest streak mark here or there.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Fairytale" for four days before there were some tip chips.

Overall I am am pleased with Julie G's "Fairytale."  I often worry when it comes to a pastel but this nail polish turned out to be nearly perfect.  I will definitely be sporting this nail polish again very soon!

Ciaté "Ahoy Sailor"

Hi all!  I can't believe that tomorrow is Monday again.  But to ease into the week today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Ahoy Sailor."  This polish was part of the 2015 annual Advent Calendar that Ciaté puts out for Black Friday/Christmas.  The set looks like this:

"Ahoy Sailor" is a gorgeous aquamarine colored nail polish.  Formula wise, "Ahoy Sailor" was a bit thick but it was still fairly easy to apply.  After two coats, the polish was completely opaque and streak free.  (The streaks on my ring and pinky finger are pink nail polish that got stuck in my topcoat.)  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Ahoy Matey" for three days before there were some minor tip chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Ciaté's "Ahoy Sailor."  I love the color and that it was opaque, however the thick formula caused some annoyance.  However I am willing to give this polish another try.

Hi guys and happy Friday! (I'm very excited for the weekend!)  Today's nail polish is Formula X for Sephora's "Celestial."  Formula X is a brand sold only at Sephora for around $9 (USD) a bottle.

"Celestial" is a gorgeous aquamarine glitter nail polish.  Formula wise, this nail polish is fantastic and was very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Celestial" was completely opaque and streak free.  In fact this nail polish covers so well you can just about get away with wearing "Celestial" as a one coater, which is always great!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Celestial" for four full days before there were some small chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Formula X for Sephora's "Celestial."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I can't wait to wear this polish again!

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!  We're almost to the weekend again!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs" which is hilariously named after Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs.

"Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs" is a lovely plum colored polish with a lighter purple shimmer.  The formula of this polish is...  After two coats of polish, "Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs" for four full days before there were some minor chips.

Overall I like OPI's "Suzi & the 7 Dusseldorfs."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I will definitely wear this polish again soon!

Ella & Mila "Samba Beats"

Hi all!  I can't believe it is August now!  This year really has flown by for me!  Anyways, today's nail polish is Ella & Mila's "Samba Beats."  Ella & Mila is a brand that is new to me and I have never seen it available in stores around me.  I purchased mine on Amazon for a good price.

"Samba Beats" is a gorgeous turquoise colored polish, with just a hint of kelly green.  Formula wise this nail polish was very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Samba Beats" was completely opaque and only had one or two minor streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Samba Beats" for five full days before there were any visible chip marks.

Overall I am very pleased with Ella & Mila's "Samba Beats."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I plan on buying some more Ella & Mila nail polishes!  Also Ella & Mila is 5-free and vegan!
