Beautifully Disney "Beautiful Bayou"

Hello all and happy Tuesday!  Today's nail polish is Beautifully Disney's "Beautiful Bayou" and represents Princess Tiana from Disney's The Princess and the Frog.  This brand of nail polish was sold exclusively at Disney parks and resorts and has now been retired.  "Beautiful Bayou" came from a set called Unlock The Spell.  The set looks like this:

"Beautiful Bayou" is a lovely turquoise green colored polish, which fits very well with the swamps of Louisiana.  The formula of this nail polish was really nice and easy to apply.  After two coats, "Beautiful Bayou" was opaque and there were no visible streak mark.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for five full days before it began to have some wear and tear.

Overall I really like Beautifully Disney's "Beautiful Bayou."  I adore everything about this nail polish, especially the color.  I plan on wearing this nail polish until the tiny miniature bottle is empty. (And I'll probably pretend I am at Disney World while I am at it!)

Dupe Post: Royal Blue Essie Nail Polishes

Hey guys!  I hope everyone survived Monday!  Today's nail polish is actually a comparison of three Essie nail polishes!  Today's comparison features "Pret-A-Surfer", Chills & Thrills" and "Suite Retreat."  Here's how they compare in the bottles:

As you can see they don't look exactly identical in the bottle but they are very similar.  In terms of application "Chills & Thrills" was the most sheer and watery, though all applied fairly well.  After two coats the quality evened out but as you can see above they aren't true dupes.  "Chills & Thrills" was a true cyan blue while "Suite Retreat" was more of a blurple.  "Pret-A-Surfer" was the lightest and my actual favorite of the group.

If you want to know more about Essie's "Suite Retreat"Essie's "Pret-A-Surfer" or Essie's "Chills & Thrills" check out my previous posts!

Overall it is nice to know that despite owning all three they aren't actually dupes and look unique and different on my nails!  Let me know if there are other polishes you would like to see comparisons of!

Wet N' Wild "Rain Check"

Hello all and happy Sunday.  The weather here in North Carolina is dreary today as the rain keeps falling, so I couldn't resist selecting this nail polish for today's post!  So without further ado here is Wet N' Wild's "Rain Check."

"Rain Check" is a really nice iridescent cadet blue polish.  And iridescent is stretching it because this is a drugstore brand.  The formula of this nail polish was actually really good and applied with ease.  After two coats, "Rain Check" was fully opaque but did have a couple of streak marks from the iridescent shimmer.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for free days before there were some tip chips.

Overall I am really pleased with Wet N' Wild's "Rain Check."  Everything about this nail polish was lovely and it makes a great Winter nail polish!  I can't wait to wear this polish again soon!

Ciaté "Beach Bum"

Hey all and happy Fri-YAY!  Today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Beach Bum" which came in the 2014 Advent Calendar set that Ciaté puts out every year.  The 2014 calendar was called The Mini Mani Manor and looked like this:

"Beach Bum" is a nice neutral sandy beige color.  The formula of "Beach Bum" was really nice and applied well to my nails.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque with no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Beach Bum" for six days before I noticed tip chips.

Overall I am really happy with Ciaté's "Beach Bum."  I was also surprised by how much I like this beige sandy color as I usually go for a more colorful and bright look.  I will definitely wear this nail polish a lot more often!

OPI "Stay The Night"

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!  Sorry for the delay in posting, my internet went out for a day or so!  Thankfully it is back up and running now!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Stay The Night."  This nail polish was part of the Mariah Carey collection and came in a mini set that looks like this:

"Stay The Night" is a black textured polish with red shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was good and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Stay The Night" was entirely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four days before it began to chip and catch on some of my sweaters.  Since "Stay The Night" has a matte textured finish (see the photo above) I want to see how the polish would look with a shiny finish.  Here's how it turned out:

Overall I really like OPI's "Stay The Night."  The color is gorgeous and very vampy, which makes it perfect for Winter.  I will definitely wear this nail polish until the bottle runs out!

January Nail Art: Tri-Color Gradient Mani

Hey everyone and happy Monday!  I hope everyone has survived their work day!  Today's nail polish actually a fun gradient mani!  I tried a gradient on my toes last Summer but hadn't gotten around to testing it out on my fingers, that is until today.

To create this look I used these polishes:

Essie's "Fashion Playground", Trend It Up's "100" and Defy + Inspire's "Ship Happens."

Next I applied a single coat of Essie's "Fashion Playground" and Bundle Monster Color's "Polishes-Peel" to protect my skin and cuticles.  Here's how it looked:

After that I placed a layer of nail polish on the sponge and then dabbed it onto my nails until the color began to show up.  The sponged looked like this:

If you want to know more about Essie's "Fashion Playground", Trend It Up "100" or Defy + Inspire's "Ship Happens" check out my posts from earlier this year.

Overall I am pleased with how this gradient turned out, though I obviously still need some practice to make it look even better.  (Tip and tricks welcome!)

Defy + Inspire "Ship Happens"

Hello all and happy Saturday!  The sun is back out shining and I am hoping the snow finally melts away!  Today's nail polish is Defy + Inspire "Ship Happens."  Right off the bat I knew I needed this nail polish because the name is so comical!

"Ship Happens" is a stunning royal blue nail polish that is perfect for Summertime.  The formula of this nail polish was absolutely amazing and went on like a dream!  After two coats, "Ship Happens" was almost entirely opaque sans a few streak marks here and there.  "Ship Happens" surprised me with its finish as well - it wasn't shiny but it also wasn't a true matte.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began to chip off.

Overall I like Defy + Inspire's "Ship Happens."  I absolutely adore the color and the formula but I do wish I could wear this nail polish longer before it chips.  In the end though I will be rocking this color a lot this upcoming Summer!

Sally Hansen Color Foil "Liquid Gold"

Hello guys and happy Thursday!  It is another snow day here in North Carolina as we got a grand total of 11" of snow!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Color Foil "Liquid Gold" which is meant to be work with no base coat or top coat as a one-day special wear.

"Liquid Gold" is unsurprisingly a shiny gold nail polish.  Formula wise "Liquid Gold" was slightly watery but not too difficult to apply.  After two coats, the polish was opaque but had a ton of streak marks and weird uneven spots.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for one day because without a top coat it practically fell off.

Overall I am not impressed by Sally Hansen Color Foil's "Liquid Gold."  Maybe with practice the application would become better but it will be a while before I wear this polish again.

China Glaze "Dancing & Prancing"

Hello guys and happy Tuesday!  If you're like me and live in the Southern United States then you know it is supposed to snow tonight and into tomorrow.  Here's hoping that we all get a snow day!  So to celebrate I decided to pull out a chunky glitter, so without further ado, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Dancing & Prancing."

"Dancing & Prancing" is a stunning gold, purple and blue chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish was good and surprisingly easy to apply considering chunky glitters are notorious for being difficult.  After two coats, "Dancing & Prancing" was amazing almost opaque and it looked fabulous on my nails!  However that being said I wanted to test this glitter as a top coat.

The first polish I decided to try out with "Dancing & Prancing" was Ciaté's "Superficial" a lovely deep teal.  This combination was fun and perfect for Winter.

The second polish I decided to test with "Dancing & Prancing" was Zoya's "Rebel."  This combination turned out really well and I went on to use it for my Birthday Nails earlier this month!

If you want to know more about Ciate's "Superficial" or Zoya's "Rebel" check out my post from last year.

Overall I am really pleased with China Glaze's "Dancing & Prancing."  This polish is a gorgeous glitter that looked good on every single polish I tried it with!  I can't wait to wear it again soon!

Sinful Colors "Mist-erious"

Hey everyone and happy Monday.  I meant to post yesterday and time totally got away from me.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Mist-erious."

"Mist-erous" is a really pretty pastel sky blue with. hint of silver shimmer.  The formula of this nail polish was great an applied on to my nails very easily.  After two coats "Mist-erious" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Mist-erious" for four days before I noticed to tip wear.

Overall I like Sinful Colors "Mist-erious."  Everything for the formula to the gorgeous color is fantastic and I will definitely be wearing this polish a lot more often this Spring and Summer!

Bundle Monster Plate P101: Gem Nails

Hello all and happy Saturday!  It snowed here in the mountains - which was not part of the plan. Today's post is some fun 90's throwback nail art featuring Bundle Monster Plate P101.  The plate looks like this:

To create this nail art look I used these polishes:

OPI "Look At My Bow!", Bundle Monster Color "Straight Up Black" and "So Metal."

First I used two coats of OPI's "Look At My Bow!" as the base, which looked like this:

Next I used Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black" and "So Metal" to stamp the designs on my nails.  I finished the look with Orly "Sec N' Dry" to seal the design in.  Which as you can see didn't quite work out as well as I would have liked.

If you want to know more about OPI's "Look At My Bow!" check out my post from 2016!

Overall I like how this fun 90's design turned out!  Next up is to get the hang of reverse stamping so I can try out the unicorn head on this plate!  (Tips and tricks welcome!)

Sephora by OPI's "Metro Too Chic"

Hey all and happy happy Friday!  I am enjoying the long weekend by heading to the mountains of North Carolina! Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "Metro Too Chic" which came in a mini set of the same name.  The Metro Too Chic mini set looks like this:

"Metro Too Chic" is a unique grey colored polish.  The formula of "Metro Too Chic" was perfect and extremely easy to apply.  After two coats this nail polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Metro Too Chic" for five days before some tip wear occurred.

Overall I am really happy with Sephora by OPI's "Metro Too Chic."  Everything about this polish is great and the color is perfect Winter.  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish a lot more often!

Essie "Fashion Playground"

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!  I hope everyone is having a nice week so far.  Today's nail polish is Essie's "Fashion Playground" which came as part of Essie's Spring 2014 mini set.  The set looks like this:

"Fashion Playground" is a lovely pastel pistachio color.  Formula wise this polish was interesting and slightly watery.  After two coats, "Fashion Playground" was mostly opaque but there were some streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before it began to chip off in little chunks.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Essie's "Fashion Playground."  I absolutely adore the color but I wish it was more opaque on my nails.  Next time I wear this polish I may apply three coats of polish and see if that looks any better.

Trend It Up "100"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone survived the first Monday back at work/school of 2018.  Today's nail polish is Trend It Up "100" which my parents got for me in The Czech Republic last year on their river cruise.

"100" is a really pretty periwinkle nail polish that looks very Spring-like.  Formula wise this polish was very good and easy to apply.  After two coats, "100" was perfect and entirely opaque with no streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for six full days before I noticed a few small chips.

Overall I am very happy with Trend It Up's "100."  I can't wait to wear this nail polish again and I hope get my hands on more of this brands polish.  (Let me know in the comments where you buy this brand.)

OPI "Thank Glogg It's Friday"

Hi guys and happy Saturday!  It is literally an icy tundra outside, which is completely weird for the South.  To help brighten up my day I picked out a warm colored polish.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is OPI's "Thank Glogg It's Friday."

"Thank Glogg It's Friday" is a very pretty burgundy color.  The formula of this polish was perfect and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Thank Glogg It's Friday" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five days before it began to have noticeable chips.

Overall I really like OPI's "Thank Glogg It's Friday."  I think this color looks good with my skin tone and is perfect for Autumn and Winter manis!  I plan on wearing this polish a lot more often!

piCture pOlish "Salt Water"

Hello all!  After a night of it snowing here in the South we've officially closed the state down for the day.  So I am pretending to be at the beach with today's nail polish.  So without further ado, here is piCture pOlish's "Salt Water" and I am so excited because I have been wanting to try this brand out for so long!  Big thank you to Live. Love. Polish. for stocking this polish!

"Salt Water" is an absolutely gorgeous aquamarine colored polish with silver shimmer glitter!  It definitely reminds me of the ocean water when the sun reflects off of it at the beach.  (My favorite beach is the Outer Banks in North Carolina - nothing says fun like shipwrecks and lighthouses!). Formula wise "Salt Water" was perfectly and extremely easy to apply.  After two coats, this polish was completely opaque and had no streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Salt Water" for a full week before I saw a few minor tip chips.

Overall I am thrilled with piCture pOlish's "Salt Water."  Absolutely everything about this nail polish is perfect and I will wear it again and again until the bottle runs out!  This is going to be my go to nail polish this Summer!

28th Birthday Nail Art!

Hello all!  Today is a special day for me because it is my 28th birthday! (I feel super old as I creep towards 30!)  I enjoyed dinner out with my friends until the snow started - here's hoping for a snow day tomorrow!  To help celebrate I decided to do some simple birthday nail art.

I stuck with some simple nail art - first I put on two coats of Zoya's "Rebel" which looked like this:

Next I applied a coat of China Glaze's "Dancing & Prancing" so my nails had some glittery fun.  They looked like this:

And finally I used dotting tools to add the number 28 with Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Black Heart."  (See the picture at the top of the post!)

If you want to know more about Zoya's "Rebel" check out my previous post!

Overall I am really impressed with how this simple nail art turned out!  This was a really fun birthday set of nails!

Finger Paints "Van Gogh Verdigris"

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday!  I hope everyone didn't have to rough of a day readjusting to the after-holiday lurch.  Today's nail polish is Finger Paints "Van Gogh Verdigris."

"Van Gogh Verdigris" is a gorgeous green shimmer polish that definitely would fit into a Van Gogh painting!  Formula wise this polish was very sheer when first applied, however by the second coat it was fine.  After the second coat of "Van Gogh Verdigris" was applied the polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for four full days before I noticed any chips!

Overall I am really pleased by Finger Paints "Van Gogh Verdigris."  I adore the color and I can't wait to wear it again and again!
