Favorite Nail Polishes of 2016!

Hi everyone!  I can't believe 2016 is about to be over.  I am not ready for 2017 yet!  Overall it has been a good year for myself - I celebrated a birthday, watched one best friend become a mom, another get married, I watched my cousin's children grow and I got to take a vacation to Florida (twice!)  So throughout the year as I have worn nail polishes I have picked out twenty-five of my favorites.  They are listed below by color!

Noodles Nail Polish's "Sea Breeze & Palm Trees" is a gorgeous indie nail polish that I ordered off of Etsy.  I love how unique the polish looked on my nails!

China Glaze's "Wanderlust" is a lovely pastel pink/purple with a great shimmer.  This is one of my favorite Spring and Summer nail polishes.

Orly's "Cake Pop" is a really pretty ballerina pink polish that I wore in honor of Breast Cancer awareness in October.

butter LONDON's "Kerfluffle" is a happy, fun and bright nail polish.  I love wearing coral colored polishes because the make my nails look like seashells and reminds me of Summertime!

butter LONDON's "Come To Bed Red" is the perfect cherry red that can be worn all year and it looks good on just about every skin tone!

OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?" is a gorgeous bright red crelly nail polish that looks fantastic on my nails!

Ciaté's "Espadrilles" reminds me of fire and also of the gorgeous Autumn leaves that fall every year.

OPI's "That's Hula-rious" is the prettiest pastel green nail polish I have seen and it is also one of my most worn polishes this year!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Green Thumb" is a lovely olive green nail polish that is a great year-round color!

Ella & Mila's "Samba Beats" is a fun and happy green/turquoise nail polish that I got on Amazon's website.

A England's "Saint George" is the prettiest glittery emerald color.  I purchased this nail polish in Paris in 2015 and have had no regrets.  I would love to get my hands on some more A England nail polishes!

Zoya's "Wednesday" is my favorite color in all the world and I wear it often, especially during Summertime when the weather is nice!

Bonita's "Sea Me" is a great drugstore find and reminds me of mermaid tails.  It is a great nail polish for Summer.

Formula X for Sephora's "Celestial" is a glittery masterpiece.  It covers so well and sparkles endlessly in sunlight.

Nicole by OPI's "Kendall On The Katwalk" is a fun royal blue glitter nail polish that was part of the Kardashian collection.

Formula X for Sephora's "Tide" reminds me of the night sky.  I love this nail polish so much because of how shimmery it is!

Sephora's "Lavender Field" is a bright purple polish that I purchased at Sephora in Paris.  (Biggest Sephora I have ever seen!)

Essie's "Flowerista" is a pretty fuchsia colored nail polish that is perfect for Autumn and is one I wore on multiple occasions throughout the year.

OPI's "Koala Bear-y" is a lovely berry color that I often enjoy wearing on my toes because of how cheery it is!

Nails INC's "Electric Lane" (despite the blurry photo) is a fantastic iridescent glitter polish.  It is basically the perfect topper because it goes with every colored nail polish!

Nails INC's "Radnor Walk" is a lovely nude nail polish that had a surprising matte finish.  I love this nail polish for when I want to wear nail polish but not draw attention to my nails!

Zoya's "Autumn" is a gorgeous shimmery copped colored nail polish that is perfect for Autumn (hence its name!)

China Glaze's "Getting To Gnaw You" is a great Halloween nail polish!  it has a black base with copper glitter and it screams "cauldron"!

Essie's "Frock N' Roll" is a glitter black polish that is edgy and classy at the same time!  I love wearing this nail polish because it is a step out of my usual nail polish!

Nicole by OPI's "Totally In The Dark" is a gorgeous glittery black nail polish that I had a lot of fun wearing and I got a lot of compliments while wearing it!  (And yes it does favor the polish above!)

Ciaté "Confetti"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone is enjoying their time off and looking forward to the New Year!  And with New Year's Eve being all sparkly and happy I couldn't resist picking out a fun glittery polish!  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Confetti."

"Confetti" is an iridescent micro-glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was good and but if did take a little bit of patience and dabbing to get an even coat of glitter.  Since "Confetti" is made to be worn as a top coat I decided to test it out over a few other polishes.

The first polish I tested out with "Confetti" was Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's "Ruby Do." This combination is a very fun and perfect for a New Year's Eve party!

The second polish I tested out with "Confetti" was China Glaze's "Don't Be Shallow."  This combination turned out to look like Cinderella's dress!  It is gorgeous and I cannot wait to wear this pair together again!

Overall I am very happy with Ciaté's "Confetti."  Everything about this iridescent glitter polish is perfect and it looks good as a top coat on every nail polish I have tried!  I can't wait to try it out over even more colored polishes!

If you want to know more about Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's "Ruby Do" or China Glaze's "Don't Be Shallow" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Nocibé "Chaud Cacao"

Ho everyone!  I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and is enjoying some time off of work. Since it is cold and wintery out I decided to pull out a fun nail polish to warm myself up!  Today's nail polish is Nocibé's "Chaud Cacao" which means hot chocolate in French.  Nocibé is a French brand of nail polish made in Luxembourg that I picked up in the Summer of 2015 while visiting Rouen, France.

"Chaud Cacao" is a very pretty warm brown colored nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish is great and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Chaud Cacao" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Chaud Cacao" for six days before there were a few minor tip chips.

Overall I am very impressed by Nocibé's "Chaud Cacao."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I wouldn't change anything about it!  I actually wish I could get my hands on this nail polish in the United States!

Finger Paints "Film Noir"

Hi all and happy Christmas Eve and Happy Hanukkah - which begins at sundown tonight!  I'm so excited and giddy for the celebrations to begin!  I hope everyone is enjoying the time off and spending time with your friends and family!  Today's nail polish is Finger Paints "Film Noir."  Finger Paints is a brand of nail polish that I only seen at Sally beauty Supply stores.

"Film Noir" is a gorgeous plum colored nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was good and very easy to apply.  However "Film Noir" surprised me by having a matte finish.  After two coats of polish, "Film Noir" was completely opaque and only had one or two minor streak marks that were caused by the ridges on my nails.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for six days before there were a few small tip chips showed up.

Overall I am very impressed by Finger Paints "Film Noir."  Everything about this nail polish is great especially the surprise matte finish.  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish again sometime soon!

OPI "What's Your Point-settia?"

Hi guys!  We're down to the last few days before Christmas and I can hardly contain myself!  I am so excited and ready for Christmas Day!  So to help me make it until then today's nail polish is Christmas themed!  So without further ado here is OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?"

"What's Your Point-settia?" is a gorgeous bright red nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was perfect and went on very easily.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In fact this nail polish was almost opaque after only one coat, which is always nice.  (I used two coats in the picture above.)  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "What's Your Point-settia?" for a full week before my nails began to grow out and leave an ugly gap between my nail bed and the polish.  If my nails had not grown as quickly I would have worn "What's Your Point-settia?" for even longer.

Overall I am in love with OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?"  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic from color to application to how long I was able to wear this nail polish!  I cannot wait to wear this nail polish again soon!

China Glaze "I Soiree I Didn't Do It"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe there are only five days left until Christmas!  I also hope everyone hasn't waited until the last minute to do all their shopping!  With Christmas so close I just couldn't help but pull out a holiday themed nail polish.  So without further ado, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "I Soiree I Didn't Do It."

"I Soiree I Didn't Do It" is a fun green glittery nail polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was really good and surprisingly (for a glitter) easy to apply.  Like with many glitters the polish is not meant to be opaque or worn alone so I decided to test it out with another polish.

The nail polish I decided to test out with "I Soiree I Didn't Do It" was Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Black Heart."  This combination was pretty and very festive!

Overall I am very pleased with China Glaze's "I Soiree I Didn't Do It."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I can't wait to wear it again soon!

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Rockin' Hard"

Hi all!  I hope everyone is having a great weekend and looking forward to Christmas!  (Only a week left to go before it is all presents, food, and family!)  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Rockin' Hard."

"Rockin' Hard" is a fun hot pink polish with a silver shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish was good and easy to apply, however the formula did lean slightly toward the watery side of good..  After two coats of polish, "Rockin' Hard" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before it started to chip off in decent size chunks.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Hard As Nails "Rockin' Hard."  The color of this polish is nice but the slightly watery formula and how quickly the polish chipped was a bit of a let down.  However I would be willing to give this nail polish another try and perhaps next time I will get a different result.

L'Oreal "Royally Yours"

Hi everyone!  Yesterday and today got away from em and I ended up not being able to post until now! I spent last night babysitting and then all of today preparing for Christmas - several hundred cookies have been made. Today's nail polish is L'Oreal's "Royally Yours."

"Royally Yours" is a gorgeous light blue colored creme nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Royally Yours" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for four days before there were a couple of minor tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with L'Oreal's "Royally Yours.  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and it continues to be one of my favorite nail polishes in my collection.  I will continue to wear this nail polish on a regular basis.  (It is especially great for Spring and Summer!)

In a previous year I did a comparison/dupe post of L'Oreal's "Royally Yours" to another nail polish which you can check out here.

Hi guys and happy Wednesday!  I am under the weather this week with an ear infection so I am very glad that the week is over halfway done!  So without further ado today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Scuppered."

"Scuppered" is a unique copper micro-glitter with some larger iridescent green glitter all wrapped up in a clear base.  The formula of this nail polish was fantastic and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Scuppered" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Scuppered" for six days before there were a couple of small noticeable chips.

Overall I am very happy with butterLONDON's "Scuppered."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I would not change anything!  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again very soon!

Essie "Virgin Snow"

Hi everyone!  I am a day late posting, I'm sorry but yesterday was crazy busy and when I did finally get the chance to sit down I just didn't have it in me to post.  But I am back and today's nail polish is Essie's "Virgin Snow" which is perfect now that Winter is in full swing!  (Anyone else hoping for a white Christmas?)

"Virgin Snow" is a lovely pastel lavender colored polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was perfect and very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish "Virgin Snow" was completely opaque and had zero visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for five days before there were any chips.

Overall I am really pleased with Essie's "Virgin Snow."  Everything about this nail polish is fantastic and it looked great on my nails!  I will definitely wear this nail polish again and again!

Zoya "Shawn"

Hi everyone!  It's Saturday and I am enjoying having a lazy day before I babysit tonight.  Today's nail polish is Zoya's "Shawn" which I initially bought because the name reminds me of one of my favorite shows, Psych.

"Shawn" is a pretty army green nail polish that is helping me get ready for Christmas!  (Only two weeks!)  Formula wise this nail polish was good and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Shawn" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Shawn" for three days before there were some tip chips.

Overall I like Zoya's "Shawn."  I love the color and the formulation of the polish.  The only thing I would change about this nail polish is how long I was able to wear it for.  I would have loved to have worn this polish for more days!  (However I also know that I am hard on my nails so i could just be me!)

Nicole by OPI "Totally In The Dark"

Hi all and happy Thursday!  I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend!  (I am hoping to get a relaxing break after a busy week!)  Today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Totally In The Dark."

"Totally In The Dark" is a very pretty sparkly black nail polish.  The formula of this polish was fantastic and extremely easy to apply!  After two coats, "Totally In The Dark" was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five days before there were a couple of small chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Nicole by OPI's "Totally In The Dark."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I absolutely love this nail polish and how it looks on my nails!  I can hardly wait to wear this nail polish again.  (Maybe I'll rock it for New Year's Eve!)

December 2016 Dupe Post

Hi all!  I realized that it has been a while since I did a dupe/comparison post.  So today I am fixing that by comparing Julep's "Bess" and Rimmel London's "Too Cool To Tango."  Here's how the bottles look next to each other:

As you can see Julep's "Bess" and Rimmel London's "Too Cool To Tango" are not true dupes but they are very similar.  Rimmel London's "Too Cool To Tango" is just the tiniest bit darker than Julep's "Bess."  Both nail polishes apply similarly and were opaque after two coats.  The main difference is that Julep's "Bess" costs $14 (USD) a bottle while Rimmel London's "Too Cool To Tango" retails for around $5 (USD) a bottle.

Overall I had a lot of fun comparing these two nail polishes.  If I had to pick between the two I'd probably go with Julep's "Bess" because it is just the tiniest bit lighter.  However I will probably wear both nail polishes again!

I've already done a post on Rimmel London's "Too Cool To Tango" so be sure to check it out!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Disco Ball"

Hi everyone and happy December!  I can't believe 2016 has flown by so quickly!  (And there is only 21 days until Christmas for those who celebrate!)  With all the holiday fun and happiness I decided to pull out a fun glitter to celebrate the season.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Disco Ball."

"Disco Ball" is an iridescent micro glitter polish in a clear base.  In the bottle the glitter shimmers so nicely and looks like frost when the morning light hits it.  Formula wise this polish was very good and easy to apply.  Without much work I was able to get a nice even coat of glitter on each of my nails.  Since "Disco Ball" is in a clear base and not meant to be worn alone I decided to test it out over a few colored nail polishes.

The combination of "Disco Ball" over China Glaze's "Pink Voltage" turned out very fun and reminded me of the Pink Lady's from Grease.  It is a fun combination that I will definitely wear again when I want to add a little sparkle to my day.

The second combination I tried wad "Disco Ball" over OPI's "You're Such A Budapest" which is a really pretty lavender colored polish.  This combination turned out to be a sweet and girly combination that I loved!

The third polish I decided to test out with "Disco Ball" was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Green Thumb" which is a unique green nail polish.  This combination turned out nicely and it reminded me of a garden faerie!

Overall I am very pleased with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Disco Ball."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I cannot wait to wear it again and try it out over other polishes.

If you want to know more about China Glaze's "Pink Voltage" or OPI's "You're Such A Budapest" or Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Green Thumb" check out my posts from earlier this year!

China Glaze "Don't Be Shallow"

Hi all and happy December!  it is now the countdown to Christmas!  Yay!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Don't Be Shallow" which I got as part of a miniature set called Roommates.  (I liked this color so much that I also own a full sized bottle of this polish as well.)  The set looks like this:

"Don't Be Shallow" is a pretty sky blue colored nail polish (or as we call it in North Carolina - Carolina blue).  Formula wise this polish was wonderful and very easy to apply.  After two coats "Don't Be Shallow" was about 90 percent opaque but there were a few visible streak marks,.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Don't Be Shallow" for four days before there were any noticeable chips.

Overall I am very pleased with China Glaze's "Don't Be Shallow."  Everything about this nail polish is nice (except I do wish it was completely opaque) and I will definitely be wearing it again and again.

China Glaze "Boundary Of Memory"

Hi guys!  It's hard to believe this is the last post of November!  So without further ado today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Boundary Of Memory."  This nail polish is part of China Glaze's Giver Collection based off of the movie The Giver.

"Boundary Of Memory" is a beautiful black and copper micro-glitter nail polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was a tiny bit watery but it was easy enough to apply if you wipe the brush of excess polish.  After two coats, "Boundary Of Memory" was completely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before it began to chip off.

Overall I really like China Glaze's "Boundary Of Memory."  The glittery color is gorgeous and a lot of fun to wear.  Even with the slightly watery formula I plan on wearing this nail polish again and again!
