OPI "Purple Palazzo Pants"

Hi all!  I can't believe that May is over today!  I know I say this just about every month, but this year literally seems to be flying by!  So without further ado the final nail polish of May, is OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants" from their Fall 2015 Venice Collection.

"Purple Palazzo Pants" is a lovely light pastel lavender colored polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was thick and took quite a bit of patience to apply.  However, after two coats, "Purple Palazzo Pants" was completely opaque and streak free.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for a full week before my nails grew out too much and the polish needed to be changed!

Overall I am super happy with OPI's "Purple Palazzo Pants."  While the formula was a little tricky everything else was flawless and I can't wait to wear this polish again very soon!

China Glaze "Meet Me In The Mirage"

Hi all!  Sorry for the delay in posting, but the wi-fi has been out all day!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Meet Me In The Mirage" which came as part of a limited edition Build Your Own Set.  This past December ULTA had around 10-12 miniature bottles that you could turn into little customized sets.

"Meet Me In The Mirage" is a gorgeous rose gold shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was fantastic and very easy to apply.  After tow coats, "Meet Me In The Mirage" was entirely opaque and only had one or two visible streak marks - and streak marks are common with shimmery polishes.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five full days before I noticed any chips marks.

Overall I am very pleased with China Glaze's "Meet Me In The Mirage."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and it looked fantastic on my nails!  I cannot wait to wear this nail polish again and again!

Bundle Monster Plate BM-XL357: Boho Nails

Hello everyone!  On today's extra special post I am testing out Bundle Monster's Stamping Plate BM-XL357.  The plate has some fun floral/Boho looking designs that I had been itching to try out.  here's how the plate looks:

As you can see all the Boho patterns can create endlessly unique looks.  So to create this look I pulled out my Bundle Monster Color "Straight Up Black" to stamp with and Nail Matic's "Kimi" as the gorgeous base.  In the bottles the polish looks like this:

Nail Matic's "Kimi" and Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black."

After selecting the polish I painted two coats of Nail Matic "Kimi" on to my nails and it looked like this:

The next step was to place Bundle Monster Color's "Poli-Peel" to protect my skin and make the clean up better.  The "Poli-Peel" looks like this:

From there I used my Bundle Monster stamper to place the look on my nails.  Then it is time to clean up by peeling off the "Poli-Peel" and placing a top coat on the finished look.

Overall I really love how this look turned out.  It is so pretty and the perfect look for Summer! However that being said I still have a lot of work to do to perfect my stamping skills.  (And any suggestions for becoming better are welcome!)

Essie "Delhi Dance"

Hello everyone and happy Saturday!  Last night our street had a cook-out and it was a great time, but I am tired this morning.  So to wake me back up this morning, today's nail polish is Essie's "Delhi Dance" which came as part of the Spring 2016 Resort collection.  the set looks like this:

"Delhi Dance" is a beautiful pastel pink polish that is perfect for Springtime!  formula wise this nail polish was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Delhi Dance" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for five days before there were some small chips.

Overall I am very impressed with Essie's "Delhi Dance."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and I cannot wait to wear it again soon!

Pop-arazzi "Shell Me More"

Hi everyone!  I'm so excited that tomorrow is Friday!  It's always nice to get to get to the weekend. Today's nail polish is Pop-arazzi's "Shell Me More."

"Shell Me More" is a lovely sky blue colored polish.  Formula wise this polish was good and easy to apply.  Though I do have one small complaint and that is that this polish has a terrible smell - though I can't put my finger on what it smells like.  After two coats, "Shell Me More" was almost completely opaque but it did have several visible streak marks on each nail.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three or four days before it began to chip off.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Pop-arazzi's "Shell Me More."  I love the color of this polish but everything else was only so-so.  However that being said I will probably give this nail polish anther go because it wasn't terrible.

butterLONDON "Front Row"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  It's miserably rainy out today so I went with a nice calming color to match the weather.  Today's nail polish is butterLONDON's "Front Row."  This polish is part of a limited edition collection called Arm Candy.  The set looks like this:

"Front Row" is a deep burgundy colored polish.  Formula wise this polish was okay, but very streaky.  After two coats, "Front Row" was entirely opaque but it did not look very good on my nails.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for two days before it began to chip.

Overall I have mixed feelings about butterLONDON's "Front Row."  The color looks really nice in the bottle but the looks stopped there and on top of that it chipped very quickly.  I would give this polish another try but not before I try other polishes in my collection.

Sephora by OPI "A True Romantic"

Hi all and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "A True Romantic."  Sephora by OPI, or SOPI, is a retired brand of nail polish that used to be sold at Sephora stores.  "A True Romantic" is a miniature bottle that came as part of a set that was sold on an American TV channel called QVC.  The set looks like this:

"A True Romantic" is a pale baby pink polish that almost matches my skin.  Formula wise this nail polish was very nice and easy to apply.  However the tiny bottle often times tried to slip out of my hands.  (A user error on my part haha.)  After two coats, "A True Romantic" was not even close to opaque and you could still see my nail bed.  That being said there were no streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began to chip.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sephora by OPI's "A True Romantic."  I like the polish's color and its application was good but the fact that it wasn't opaque annoys me.  Chances are though, I will wear this polish again but as a base for glitter or nail art.

Sinful Colors "Sail La Vie"

Hi all and happy happy Fri-YAY!  Today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Sail La Vie" which is a wonderful play on words from the French saying c'est la vie - meaning such is life.

"Sail La Vie" is a lovely sky blue nail polish,  Formula wise "Sail La Vie" was slightly watery but as long as I wiped the excess polish from the brush back into the bottle it was easy enough to apply. After two coats, the polish was completely opaque but there were a couple of visible streak marks.  I always use two coats of polish on my nails, however I think a third coat of "Sail La Vie" would have hidden the streak marks nicely.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Sail La Vie" for four days before there were a few tiny tip chips.

Overall I like Sinful Colors "Sail La Vie."  I absolutely adore the gorgeous color and everything was decent.  I will definitely wear this nail polish again and again!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Ivy League"

Hello everyone!  We're halfway through the week and it is gorgeous outside!  Summer seems to finally be in full swing.  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Ivy League."

"Ivy League" is a light olive green nail polish with a lot of shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was great and it gave me no difficulty.  After two coats, "Ivy League" was partially opaque and had several visible patches and streak marks.  In term of chipping, I was able to wear "Ivy League" for two days before it chipped and looked sad.

Overall I have mixed feelings about Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Ivy League."  I like the color and the Sally Hansen brand is very affordable but the streak marks, patches and how quickly the polish chipped were disappointing.  However I've had this polish in  my collection for several years and I continue to wear it anyways.

China Glaze "About Layin' Out"

Hi guys!  We survived Monday and here in North Carolina is is gorgeous and sunny!  So to celebrate the sunshine, today's nail polish is China Glaze's "About Layin' Out."

"About Layin' Out" is a gorgeous hot pink neon nail polish.  The formula of this polish was unique as it was watery but wet on in a lumpy thick coat.  After two coats, "About Layin' Out" was almost opaque except at the tips of my nails.  However there were no streak marks, which was nice.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for three days before it began to chip off in chunks.

Overall I have mixed feelings about China Glaze's "About Layin' Out."  The color is fantastic and looked nice on my nails, but it was disappointing that the polish chipped so quickly.  That being said I will probably wear this polish again because it is bright and happy.

Nicole by OPI "Three Way Mirror"

Hi everyone and happy Saturday!  Today's nail polish is Nicole by OPI's "Three Way Mirror" from the miss-labeled mini set I found at TJ Maxx.  This is actually a Sephora by OPI nail polish.  The set looks like this:

"Three Way Mirror" is a dusty pink nail polish.  Formula wise "Three Way Mirror" was perfect and very easy to apply.  After two coats the nail polish was opaque and has no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Three Wear Mirror" for six full days before it began to chip off.

Overall I am very impressed by Nicole by OPI's "Three Way Mirror."  From its color to its wearability this polish could not get any better.  I will definitely wear this nail polish again and again!

Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure "Coat Of Arms"

Hi all! I hope everyone is having a nice week so far and looking forward to the weekend!  Today's nail polish is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's "Coat Of Arms."

"Coat Of Arms" is a gorgeous gold nail polish with a lot of shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was great and went on to my nails easily.  After two coats "Coat Of Arms" was completely opaque but did have a few streak marks.  The streak marks were caused because the polish is metallic, so the shimmer hides the streak marks well.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five days before there were noticeable chips.

Overall I am very happy with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure's "Coat Of Arms."  This polish is perfect and I cannot wait to wear it again very soon!

If you want to see more "Coat Of Arms" check out my post from earlier this year where I used this polish in some nail art.

May Nail Art: Spring Flowers

Hi all!  Now that May is in full swing here, Summer is just around the corner and I can hardly wait! (Even though we currently have the heat running!)  Today I decided to show off some Summertime nail art!

For today's nail art I did free-hand daisies!  I think these nails turned out nicely, but my free-hand skills definitely aren't that great.  (Which is comical since I have degrees in design and art.)  To create this look I used three nail polishes.  The polishes are:

OPI "Suzi Loves Cowboys", Sinful Colors "YOLO Yellow" and Bundle Monster Color "Bam! White."

Overall I am pleased with my little yellow daisies.  This was a nice simple look that was very easy to to do and I think they are perfect for Summer!

Essence "The Green And The Grunge"

Hi all and happy Tuesday!  Who else is already counting down to the weekend again?  Today's nail polish is Essence's "The Green And The Grunge."

"The Green And The Grunge" is an average looking green polish that a lighter forest green color. Formula wise this nail polish was very good and applied well, though it smells terrible and always makes me cough.  After one coat, "The Green And The Grunge" was entirely opaque and streak free. However I applied a second coat for the picture.  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear this polish for three days before it began there were some small chip marks.

Overall Essence's "The Green And The Grunge" is a good nail polish and it looked nice on my nails. The only downside of this polish is its smell, which irritates my throat.  Because of that I probably won't wear this nail polish very often.

OPI "Suzi Loves Cowboys"

Hello everyone!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far.  I am still trying to pretend tomorrow isn't a work day!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Suzi Loves Cowboys."

"Suzi Loves Cowboys" is a very warm and rich chocolate brown polish.  Formula wise this nail polish went on decently well.  After two coats "Suzi Loves Cowboys" was entirely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for five days before I noticed a few small chips.

Overall I am pleased with OPI's "Suzi Loves Cowboys."  This nail polish is great and is perfect for all seasons, though I think I'll wear it most often in Autumn.

L.A. Girl Color Pop "Extra! Extra!"

Hi guys and happy happy Friday!  I am so excited the weekend has arrived again!  So without further ado, here is today's nail polish is L.A. Girl Color Pop's "Extra! Extra!"

"Extra! Extra!" is a fun pastel colored chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this polish went on surprisingly well.  Many glitters in a clear base are difficult to get out of the bottle and on to the nail but not "Extra! Extra!" which went on flawlessly.  Also like a lot of glitter polishes they are made to be top coats so I couldn't resist trying "Extra! Extra!" out with some opaque colored polishes.

I decided to test out with "Extra! Extra!" was Sinful Colors "Kool As A Kukumber" which is a gorgeous mint colored polish.  This combination was perfect for Springtime and it looks great on my nails!

If you want to know more about Sinful Color's "Kool As A Kukumber" from last month!

Overall I really like L.A. Girl Color Pop "Extra! Extra!"  The colors are fun and a pastel glitter is just perfect for Spring!  I will definitely be wearing this nail polish again soon!

Ciaté "Purple Rain-Bow"

Hi all!  I can't believe that May is here already!  It seems like January was just yesterday but I am really enjoying summer being back!  Today's nail polish is Ciaté "Purple Rain-Bow" from their annual Advent Calendar.  "Purple Rain-Bow" comes from Ciaté's 2015 set which looks like this:

"Purple Rain-Bow" is a gorgeous glitter that actually despite the name features small silver glitter in a clear base.  This polish was very easy to apply, which is always a bonus for glitter.  However like most glitter polishes "Purple Rain-Bow" was not meant to be worn on its own.  So I decided to test it out over some opaque polishes!

The first polish I decided to test out with "Purple Rain-Bow" was China Glaze's "Sweet Hook."  This was an all out purple look and was very girly.  This combination reminded me Glenda from Wicked.

The second polish I decided to try with "Purple Rain-Bow" was OPI's "Pompeii Purple."  This combination was very pink and sparkly and perfect for New year's Eve or a princess tea party.  It is definitely my favorite o all the combinations I tried.

Overall I am pleased by Ciaté's "Purple Rain-Bow."  Everything about this nail polish is great and I cannot wait to wear it again soon!
