Sinful Colors "Nice Stems"

Hi all!  I can't believe January is already over!  Where did the month go?!?  Today's nail polish is Sinful Colors "Nice Stems."  Sinful Colors is an inexpensive drugstore brand that costs around $2 (USD) a bottle which is very affordable.

"Nice Stems" is a beautiful aquamarine colored creme nail polish.  Formula wise, "Nice Stems" was fair but it required some patience to apply.  After two coats the polish was completely opaque and there were no streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Nice Stems" for six full days before I noticed any chips on my nails.

Overall I am really happy with Sinful Colors "Nice Stems."  Everything about this nail polish from its gorgeous color and its affordable price makes it fantastic!  I plan on wearing "Nice Stems" a lot more often this upcoming Spring and Summer.

Hard Candy "Pop Star"

Hi everyone!  I hope everyone has had a nice weekend.  Today's nail polish is Hard Candy's "Pop Star."  Hard Candy is a drugstore brand that is very affordable that I have only seen available at Wal-Mart.

"Pop Start" is a pretty multi-shades of blue chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was watery but the glitter seemed to spread evenly.  Like many glitters in a clear base it is not meant to be worn alone but instead as a topcoat.  With this in mind I decided to test it out on top of a few opaque polishes.

The first polish I decided to test "Pop Star" with was Pacifica's "Turquoise Tiara."  This combination was fun and very beachy.  I will probably wear this nail polish net time I get the chance to see the ocean.  (Not that that will be any time soon!)

The second nail polish I decided to test "Pop Star" with was OPI's "Dating A Royal."  This combination was fun and really popped.  I like this combo and will wear it again.

Overall I am very pleased with Hard Candy's "Pop Star."  While the formula was a little watery it was still easy to apply and it looks great as a top coat on colored polishes.  I can't wait to wear "Pop Star" again soon!

If you want to know more about Pacifica's "Turquoise Tiara" or OPI's "Dating A Royal" check out my posts from earlier this year!

Nails INC "Kensington Palace"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe that January is almost over!  Today's nail polish is Nails INC's "Kensington Palace" which is a magnetic nail polish. The bottle comes with a built in magnet on the cap that creates a pattern when held up to the polish.  The cap looks like this:

"Kensington Palace" is a gorgeous burgundy nail polish with a hint of shimmer.  Formula wise this polish was great and extremely easy to apply.  After two coats, "Kensington Palace" was completely opaque and there were no visible streak marks.  In fact this nail polish was almost entirely opaque after only one coat!  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Kensington Palace" for four days before I noticed any chips.

Overall I have had great luck with Nails INC's magnetic polishes.  Everything about "Kensington Palace" was wonderful and I definitely plan on wearing it again very soon!

OPI "Dating A Royal"

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!  We're halfway through the weekend and I am very ready for the weekend!  Today's nail polish is OPI's "Dating A Royal."

"Dating A Royal" is a gorgeous royal blue nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was slightly watery, but with a little patience it was not too difficult to apply.  After two coats, "Dating A Royal" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four days before there were some obvious chips.

Overall I like OPI's "Dating A Royal."  The color is pretty and I love the name (who wouldn't want to date a royal!)  I will definitely wear this nail polish again very soon!

In a previous year I compared OPI's "Dating A Royal" to another nail polish which you can check out here.

A England "Sleeping Palace"

Hi guys and happy Monday!  Today's nail polish is A England's "Sleeping Palace."  I purchased this polish is Paris in 2015 at a small nail salon in the 11th and I wish I had picked up several more bottles of A England because it it almost impossible to get here in the United States without paying a fortune.

"Sleeping Palace" is a really pretty dusty purple with a golden shimmer.  Formula wise this nail polish is perfect and so very easy to apply.  After two coats of polish, "Sleeping Palace" was completely opaque and streak free.  In fact "Sleeping Palace" is so great that it was entirely opaque after only one coat of polish.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Sleeping Palace" for six full days before there were a couple very small tip chips.

Overall I am very happy and pleased with A England's "Sleeping Palace."  I am in love with this nail polish and I cannot wait to wear "Sleeping Palace" again soon!

Nail Art: Monogram Nails!

Hi guys!  I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far!  It has been a while since I have done a nail art so I decided today was the day to change that!  We have a saying in the South "If it ain't moving monogram it!"  So that's exactly what I have done with my nails today!

Maybelline's "Coral Crush" and Nocibé's "Chaud Cacao"

I love having everything monogrammed (and I do mean everything - from beach towels to cars I've had it monogrammed!)  The hardest part of this nail art for me was picking out colors!  I could think of so many great combinations but I settled on the classic pink and brown combo!  The nail polishes are Nocibé's "Chaud Cacao" as the base and Maybelline's "Coral Crush."  To create the letters and the polka dots I used a nail dotting tool I purchased on Amazon.  I also added in a nail gem which I got from a set from a store called Francesca's.

To complete this nail art I needed some basic supplies.  The supplies are pictured above and it includes various sizes of dotting tools as well as the pack of nail gems from Francesca's.

Overall it was harder than I thought to create letters using dotting tools.  I initially planned on putting my monogram on all of my nails but I settle for the accent nail (ring finger) for the monogram and polka dots on the other 8 fingers.  However I think the nail art turned out cute enough - though next time I might look into actual decals for the letters.

If you want to know more about Maybelline's "Coral Crush" or Nocibe's "Chaud Cacao" check out my post from previous years!

China Glaze "Son Of A Nutcrakcer"

Hi everyone!  Today's nail polish is China Glaze's "Son Of A Nutcracker" which is actually more of a Christmas polish, but I just couldn't resist wearing it now! "Son Of A Nutcracker" is a miniature bottle which came in their Winter 2015 Mini Mixer Set, which looks like this:

"Son Of A Nutcracker" is a very pretty orange-red colored nail polish.  Formula wise this polish was wonderful and it was very easy to apply.  After two coats, "Son Of A Nutcracker" was completely opaque  and has no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for six full days before there were a couple of small tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with China Glaze's "Son Of A Nutcracker,"  Everything about this nail polish from its pretty color to its easy to apply formula is fantastic and I cannot wait to wear it again!  I know it is early in the year but this may be one of my favorite polishes for 2017!

Pacifica "Turquoise Tiara"

Hi all!  I cannot believe we are halfway through January - where did the time go?  I hope everyone is having a nice 2017 so far.  Today's nail polish is Pacifica's "Turquoise Tiara."  Pacifica is a 7 free polish which means it has less chemicals in it and the brand is also Vegan, which is nice.

"Turquoise Tiara" is a gorgeous aquamarine colored nail polish that reminds me of ice, which is great for mid-January.  Formula wise "Turquoise Tiara" was the tiniest bit thick but still easy to apply. After two coats the polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Turquoise Tiara" for a fill week before my nails grew out and there was too large of a gap between the polish and my nail bed but I never save any chips.

Overall I am very impressed and happy with Pacifica's "Turquoise Tiara."  Everything about this nail polish a fantastic and it has the added bonus of being Vegan and 7 free!  I can't wait to wear "Turquoise Tiara" again and I plan on buying some more polishes by this brand!

Wet N' Wild "Lavender Cremé"

Hi guys!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  I am looking forward to having tomorrow off in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.  Today's nail polish is Wet N' Wild's "Lavender Cremé."

"Lavender Cremé" is a pretty hot pink, that is not a lavender colored polish at all.  Formula wise this nail polish was great and very easy to apply.  After two coats of "Lavender Cremé" the polish was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  In fact this polish was completely opaque after only one coat, which is always nice!  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Lavender Cremé" for five days before there were any noticeable tip chips.

Overall I am very impressed with Wet N' Wild's "Lavender Cremé."  Everything about this nail polish is wonderful and I can't wait to wear it again very soon!

Ciaté "Check Mate"

Hi everyone!  I'd say happy Friday, but it is Friday the 13th so everything has been a little Twilight Zone here.  Today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Check Mate."  This nail polish came as part of Ciaté's annual advent calendar.  "Check Mate" was part of the 2015 set that looks like this:

"Check Mate" is a fun black and white chunky glitter in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was watery and it was difficult to get the glitter to stick on to my nails.  Like many glitters "Check Mate" is not meant to be worn on its own so I decided to test it out over some opaque nail polishes.

The first nail polish I decided to test out with "Check Mate" was Zoya's "Shawn."  This combination was okay but the black glitter almost blended into the green polish so it really just looked like whit glitter on green polish.  This was definitely not my favorite combination.

The second nail polish I decided to test out with "Check Mate" was Finger Paints "Film Noir."  This combinations was the most disappointing of all the combinations I tried because you could not see any of the black glitter and I couldn't get enough white glitter on my nails.

The third polish I decided to test out with "Check Mate" was Nuance's "Honey Blossom."  This combination was pretty and very girly.  I really liked this combination and would wear it again!

Overall I am pleased with Ciaté's "Check Mate."  The black and white glitter looks good on a variety of opaque colored polishes however the clear base was a pain to work with.  Despite the clear base I would wear this nail polish again and can't wait to try it out with other colored polishes!

Essie "Cashmere Bathrobe"

Hi everyone!  I can't believe we are already almost two weeks in to January!  Since Winter is in full swing and I am constantly cold I decided to warm myself up with Essie's "Cashmere Bathrobe."  (Also I am already ready for Spring!)

"Cashmere Bathrobe" is a gorgeous grey with silver shimmer.  It is a great Winter nail polish color!  Formula wise "Cashmere Bathrobe" was perfect and it went on easily.  After two coats, the polish was entirely opaque and there were absolutely no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Cashmere Bathrobe" for five full days before I noticed any chipping.

Overall I am very pleased with Essie's "Cashmere Bathrobe."  I love everything about this nail polish from its perfect Winter color to how easy it was to apply!  I can hardly wait to wear "Cashmere Bathrobe" again very soon!

Nuance "Honey Blossom"

Hi all!  It's been nothing but snow the past three days and I am definitely ready for it to be gone! Today's nail polish is Nuance's "Honey Blossom."  Nuance is a celebrity brand by actress Salma Hayek.

"Honey Blossom" is a gorgeous fuchsia colored nail polish.  Formula wise this nail polish was fantastic and super easy to apply.  After two coats "Honey Blossom" was completely opaque and streak free.  In fact this nail polish was so great that it was opaque after only one coat, which is always great!  In terms of chipping, I was able to wear "Honey Blossom" for five full days before there were any noticeable tip chips.

Overall I am very pleased with Nuance's "Honey Blossom."  Everything about this nail polish was fantastic from its color to how long I was able to wear "Honey Blossom!"  I definitely plan on wearing this nail polish again very soon!

Sephora by OPI "Dream Princess"

Hi all! It's snowing here like crazy and likely we'll not b able to get out of the house until Friday.  (We definitely don't do snow in the South!) Today's nail polish is Sephora by OPI's "Dream Princess." Sephora by OPI (or SOPI) is a brand of nail polish that is no longer produced.  I managed to get today's polish as part of a mini set in 2014.  The set is called Jasmine and it looks like this:

"Dream Princess" is an iridescent shimmery glitter nail polish that has a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was...  Since "Dream Princess" is a glitter it is meant to be worn as a top coat so I decided to test it out over some colored polishes.

The first nail polish I decided to test out with "Dream Princess" was butter LONDON's "Scuppered." This combination was really pretty!  "Scuppered" is already a shimmery and glitter polish but "Dream Princess" just gave it that extra kick of shimmery gorgeousness.

The second nail polish I decided to test out with "Dream Princess" was OPI's "Be There In A Prosecco."  This combination was gorgeous!  It is the perfect nude with a hint of shimmer.  I can see wearing this combination over and over again because it can be formal or laid back.

Overall I am very happy with Sephora by OPI's "Dream Princess."  This nail polish is great and looks nice on a variety of colored polishes.  I cannot wait to try it out with more opaque polishes!

OPI "Be There In A Prosecco"

Hi guys!  After wearing such a bright and over the top glitter I decided to slow it down and go with a nice neutral nail polish for this post!  So without further ado today's nail polish is OPI's "Be There In A Prosecco" which is part of OPI's Fall 2015 Venice Collection.

"Be There In A Prosecco" is a very delicate and pretty pastel nude color that is perfect for when you want a demure look.  Formula wise this nail polish was quite watery and gave me some minor difficulty applying it.  After two coats, "Be There In A Prosecco" was completely opaque and had no visible streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for six full days before there were a few minor chips.

Overall I have mixed feelings about OPI's "Be There In A Prosecco."  I love the color and how it looks on my nails and I especially love how long I was able to wear this nail polish but the watery formula takes a lot of work to apply.  I will wear this nail polish again though because it is such a nice nude color.

Deborah Lippmann "Happy Birthday"

Hi everyone!  Today is a special day for me because it is my BIRTHDAY!  So I absolutely couldn't resist pulling out a fittingly fun nail polish.  Today's nail polish is Deborah Lippmann's "Happy Birthday."  Deborah Lippmann is a higher end brand of nail polish that costs somewhere between $15-$20 (US) dollars a bottle.

"Happy Birthday" is a multi-colored chunky glitter polish in a clear base.  Formula wise this nail polish was great and the glitter spread evenly over my nails.  Since "Happy Birthday" is a glitter it is not made to be opaque but instead meant to be worn as a top coat.  So I decided to this nail polish out over a creme based polish.

The first polish I decided to test out with "Happy Birthday" was China Glaze's "Don't Be Shallow," This combination turned out to be very fun and reminded me of confetti.  It was perfect for a birthday celebration!

Overall I am very pleased with Deborah Lippmann's "Happy Birthday."  Everything about this gorgeous glittery nail polish!  I love all the colored glitter and how they look on my nails and I cannot wait to wear this polish again soon!

Ciaté "Caviar Metallic Pearls - Silver"

Hi everyone and Happy New Year!  Welcome to 2017!  To celebrate the new year I decided to test out Ciaté's "Caviar Metallic Pearls - Silver" which are little tiny silver balls that can be used for nail art.  I got this nail polish as part of Ciaté's annual advent calendar from 2013.  The set looks like this:

Ciaté's "Caviar Metallic Pearls - Silver" are bright silver and the balls are very tiny so in order to attach them to my nails I pulled out a pair of tweezers.  I decided to create a pattern on my nails using the pearls and I used OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?" as the base.  It only took me about 30-45 minutes to create the look on my nails.  But be forewarned the little pearls like to go everywhere and the look is 3-D. Here's what the bottle of pearls looked like:

Overall I enjoyed Ciaté's "Caviar Metallic Pearls - Silver."  it was fun to create some nail art with it and the look is very unique!  I will definitely try out some other looks using the pearls!

If you want to know more about OPI's "What's Your Point-settia?" check out my post from late last year.
