Ciaté "Talent Scout"

Hello all and happy Monday!  (Who else struggled through today?)  So without further ado, today's nail polish is Ciaté's "Talent Scout" which was part of their annual Advent Calendar.  "Talent Scout" is from their 2014 set called Mini Manor Mani set, which looked like this:

"Talen Scout" is a lovely royal purple creme - and I absolutely love it!  The formula of this nail polish was perfect and applied without issue.  After two coats of polish, "Talent Scout" was completely opaque and had no streak marks.  As for chipping, I was able to wear this nail polish for four days before there were some tip chips.  Here's how "Talent Scout" looks in the bottle:

And as if this gorgeous purple polish wasn't nice enough on the nail - look at it up close:

Overall I am really pleased with Ciaté's "Talent Scout."  Everything about this nail polish is perfect and I cannot wait to wear it again and again!  (Plus I think this color works all year long!)

Sephora Formula X "Perfection"

Hey guys and happy Sunday!  Today's nail polish is Sephora Formula X's "Perfection."  Formula X was Sephora's house brand after they discontinued the Sephora by OPI line.  However I am not sure whether or not Sephora still carries the Formula X brand in 2019 or not.  Here's how "Perfection" looks in the bottle:

"Perfection" is a pretty light chocolate brown with a hint of purple.  formula wise "Perfection" was pretty good, leaning slightly towards the thicker side, but it applied easily to my nails.  After two coats the nail polish was completely opaque and streak free.  As for chipping, I was able to wear "Perfection" for five full days before I noticed a couple minor chips.  Look at this pretty brown up close:

Overall I have mixed feeling about Sephora Formula X's "Perfection."  The formula is pretty good but the color isn't anything special to me - I tend to prefer brighter colors.  In the end I probably won't keep this nail polish in my collection as the bottle is several years old and I have similar shades that I like better.

National Nail Polish Day Nail Art

Hello everyone and happy June!  Today is National Nail Polish Day so I decided to celebrate with some freehand nail art!  My goal was to create nail polish bottles on my nails, so I picked out a variety of colors.  Here are the polishes I picked out:

Sinful Colors "Horizon Shine," China Glaze "Stoked To Be Soaked," Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear "Daisy Dukes," Maniology "Ducky," Lisa Lacquer "Ice Ice Baby," OPI "Samurai Breaks A Nail," Sinful Colors "Festival Fairy" and Bundle Monster Color "Straight Up Black."

Since I am using a rainbow of colors for the bottles I decided to use Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear's "Invisible" as my "base color" to create a fun look.  Here's how my nails looked with the clear base:

Next I used the rainbow colors to create bottle-like blobs on my nails with a dotting tool.  Here's how the blobs turned out:

Next I used Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black" and a small brush to draw the outlines and bottle caps for the nail polish bottles.  This created the final look, which I sealed in with a quick drying top coat.  Here's an up close look at the bottles:

If you want to know more about Sinful Colors "Horizon Shine"China Glaze "Stoked To Be Soaked", or Sinful Colors "Festival Fairy" then check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am thrilled to celebrate National Nail Polish Day by creating a fun freehand look!  I hope all of you awesome enthusiasts enjoyed today as well!

Feather Nail Art

Hey guys and welcome to the weekend!  Today instead of nail polish I decided to practice my stamping skills and create some feather nails!  First I needed to pick out the nail polish:

Disney for Target "White," Bundle Monster Color "Straight Up Black," OPI "Hopelessly Devoted To OPI," Sinful Colors "Treasure Chest," Illimite "La Femme Fleur" and Zoya "Aster."

After selecting my polishes I painted my nails with two coats of Disney for Target's "White" and put on Live Love Polish's Precision Peel Cuticle protector.  My nails then looked like this:

Next up was to select the stamping plate!  I picked out Maniology's MXM002 which features several different feathers.  Here's how the plate looks:

I decided to stamp with Bundle Monster Color's "Straight Up Black" and then reverse stamp with the colored polishes to create the final look.  I dab the colorful nail polish on to the stamp I used some basic dotting tools from Amazon.  In the end my ails looked adorable and I think I was pretty successful at reverse stamping this time!

If you want to know more about Disney for Target's "White"Sinful Colors "Treasure Chest" or Illimite's "La Femme Fleur" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am really pleased with this attempt to reverse stamp and create some colorful feathers!  I can't wait to try this technique again and hope to keep improving with each design.

Pahlish "Gryffindor"

Hello guys and happy Thursday!  Today's nail polish is Pahlish's "Gryffindor" from their Harry Potter Collection.  Here's how gorgeous this shimmer Burgundy beauty is:

"Gryffindor" (for those of you who aren't Harry Potter fans) is one of the school houses - the one Harry Potter is in.  Their house colors are maroon and gold - which means this Burgundy/maroon polish with golden flecks hits the mark.  The formula of "Gryffindor" was amazing and applied so nicely and was nearly opaque after a single coat.  I did add a second coat to finish the look out and test the wear time.  In terms of chipping, "Gryffindor" lasted for ages - a full week!  Here's how stunning this polish is up close:

Overall I am as impressed as always with Pahlish's "Gryffindor."  Despite being a Slytherin at heart this nail polish brings endless joy to me and I must buy more nail polish from this wonderful indie brand!!

The first stamping plate is MXM007 which has a gorgeous underwater scene with a mermaid:

The second stamping plate is MXM008which features underwater creatures, seashells and ocean waves:

This month's surprise item is a Premium Nail Brush which can be used for powders, flakies or to help clean up the nail beds.  It is utterly gorgeous:

Memorial Day Camo Nails

Hello everyone and happy Monday!  Today in the United States it is Memorial Day - which is when we remember those brave men and women who gave their lives to keep us safe and free.  So in honor of those braves men and women I decided to do camo nails.  First I needed to select my nail polishes:

Sinful Colors "Cash Out", China Glaze "Mind The Gap" and "Cast A Spell" and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri "Thyme Is Money."

After selecting my four green nail polishes I painted my nails with Sinful Colors "Cash Out."  My nails then looked like this:

Next I used some dotting tools from Amazon to slowly add blobs of different shades of green until I was satisfied with the look.  It was very simple and easy to do.  Look how gorgeous the design looked up close:

If you want to know more about Sinful Colors "Cash Out"China Glaze's "Mind The Gap"China Glaze's "Cast A Spell" or Sally Hansen Insti-Dri's "Thyme Is Money" check out some of my previous posts!

Overall I am thrilled with how my camo nails turned out in honor of Memorial Day.  Even though I usually don't wear camo print it was such a pretty look that I would wear it again!
